1 Kings 15:2-4
GOD’S WORD Translation
2 He ruled for three years in Jerusalem. His mother was named Maacah, daughter of Abishalom. 3 He followed the sinful example his father had set and wasn’t committed to the Lord his God as his ancestor David had been. 4 But for David’s sake the Lord his God made Abijam a lamp in Jerusalem. He appointed David’s descendant to rule after him and protected Jerusalem.

1 Kings 15:2-4
New International Version
2 and he reigned in Jerusalem three years. His mother’s name was Maakah(A) daughter of Abishalom.[a]
3 He committed all the sins his father had done before him; his heart was not fully devoted(B) to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his forefather had been. 4 Nevertheless, for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp(C) in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong.
