²⁷ At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”^(A)

⁴¹ Returning the third time, he said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour^(A) has come. Look, the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners.

⁹ And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe^[a] your own traditions!^(A)

³⁸ Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

³⁹ He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

⁴⁵ Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour^(A) has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners.

³⁹ “‘As for you, people of Israel, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Go and serve your idols,^(A) every one of you! But afterward you will surely listen to me and no longer profane my holy name^(B) with your gifts and idols.^(C)
