8 e Bela figlio di Azaz, figlio di Sema, figlio di Gioele, che dimorava in Aroer e fino al Nebo e a Baal-Meòn. 9 A oriente si estendevano fra l'inizio del deserto che va dal fiume Eufrate in qua, perché i loro greggi erano numerosi nel paese di Gàlaad. 10 Al tempo di Saul mossero guerra agli Agarèni; caduti questi nelle loro mani, essi si stabilirono nelle loro tende su tutta la parte orientale di Gàlaad.

New International Version
8 and Bela son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel. They settled in the area from Aroer(A) to Nebo(B) and Baal Meon.(C) 9 To the east they occupied the land up to the edge of the desert that extends to the Euphrates(D) River, because their livestock had increased in Gilead.(E)
10 During Saul’s reign they waged war against the Hagrites(F), who were defeated at their hands; they occupied the dwellings of the Hagrites throughout the entire region east of Gilead.
