6 How is it that when you have something against another Christian, you “go to law” and ask a heathen court to decide the matter instead of taking it to other Christians to decide which of you is right? 2 Don’t you know that someday we Christians are going to judge and govern the world? So why can’t you decide even these little things among yourselves? 3 Don’t you realize that we Christians will judge and reward the very angels in heaven? So you should be able to decide your problems down here on earth easily enough. 4 Why then go to outside judges who are not even Christians?[a] 5 I am trying to make you ashamed. Isn’t there anyone in all the church who is wise enough to decide these arguments? 6 But, instead, one Christian sues another and accuses his Christian brother in front of unbelievers.
7 To have such lawsuits at all is a real defeat for you as Christians. Why not just accept mistreatment and leave it at that? It would be far more honoring to the Lord to let yourselves be cheated. 8 But, instead, you yourselves are the ones who do wrong, cheating others, even your own brothers.
9-10 Don’t you know that those doing such things have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who live immoral lives, who are idol worshipers, adulterers or homosexuals—will have no share in his Kingdom. Neither will thieves or greedy people, drunkards, slanderers, or robbers. 11 There was a time when some of you were just like that but now your sins are washed away, and you are set apart for God; and he has accepted you because of what the Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God have done for you.
12 I can do anything I want to if Christ has not said no,[b] but some of these things aren’t good for me. Even if I am allowed to do them, I’ll refuse to if I think they might get such a grip on me that I can’t easily stop when I want to. 13 For instance, take the matter of eating. God has given us an appetite for food and stomachs to digest it. But that doesn’t mean we should eat more than we need. Don’t think of eating as important because someday God will do away with both stomachs and food.
But sexual sin is never right: our bodies were not made for that but for the Lord, and the Lord wants to fill our bodies with himself. 14 And God is going to raise our bodies from the dead by his power just as he raised up the Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts and members of Christ? So should I take part of Christ and join him to a prostitute? Never! 16 And don’t you know that if a man joins himself to a prostitute she becomes a part of him and he becomes a part of her? For God tells us in the Scripture that in his sight the two become one person. 17 But if you give yourself to the Lord, you and Christ are joined together as one person.
18 That is why I say to run from sex sin. No other sin affects the body as this one does. When you sin this sin it is against your own body. 19 Haven’t you yet learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that he lives within you? Your own body does not belong to you. 20 For God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give glory back to God because he owns it.

- 1 Corinthians 6:4 Why then go to outside judges who are not even Christians? or “Even the least capable people in the church should be able to decide these things for you.” Both interpretations are possible.
- 1 Corinthians 6:12 I can do anything I want to if Christ has not said no, literally, “All things are lawful for me.” Obviously, Paul is not here permitting sins such as just have been expressly prohibited in vv. 9-10. He is apparently quoting some in the church of lustful Corinth who were excusing their sins.

6 Kapag sinuman sa inyo na may usapin laban sa isang kapatid, nangangahas ba siya na magsakdal sa harapan ng mga di-matuwid at hindi sa harapan ng mga hinirang ng Diyos? 2 Hindi ba ninyo nalalaman na ang mga hinirang ng Diyos ang hahatol sa sanlibutan? At kung ang sanlibutan ay hahatulan sa pamamagitan ninyo, hindi ba ninyo kayang humatol sa napakaliliit na bagay? 3 Hindi ba ninyo nalalaman na tayo ang hahatol sa mga anghel? Gaano pa kaya ang mga bagay tungkol sa buhay na ito? 4 Kung kayo'y may mga usaping may kinalaman sa pang-araw-araw na buhay na ito, itinatalaga ba ninyong hukom ang mga taong hindi naman kinikilala ng iglesya? 5 Sinasabi ko ito upang mapahiya kayo. Wala ba ni isang marunong diyan sa inyo na maaaring magpasya sa usapin ng mga magkakapatid? 6 Sa halip, may kapatid na nagsasakdal laban sa kapatid, at sa harapan pa ng mga hindi mananampalataya! 7 Sa katunayan, ang magkaroon kayo ng usapin laban sa isa't isa ay isa nang pagkatalo para sa inyo. Bakit hindi na lamang ninyo tanggapin na kayo'y apihin? Bakit hindi na lamang kayo magparaya? 8 Ngunit kayo mismo ang nang-aapi at nandaraya at ito'y sa mga kapatid pa naman ninyo! 9 Hindi ba ninyo alam na ang masasamang tao ay hindi makababahagi sa kaharian ng Diyos? Huwag kayong padaya! Ang mga nakikiapid, mga sumasamba sa diyus-diyosan, mga nangangalunya, mga nakikipagtalik sa kapwa lalaki o sa kapwa babae, 10 ang mga magnanakaw, mga sakim, mga lasenggo, mga mapanlait, mga magdaraya ay hindi makababahagi sa kaharian ng Diyos. 11 At ganyan ang ilan sa inyo noon. Ngunit hinugasan na kayo; ginawa na kayong banal, at itinuring na matuwid sa pangalan ng Panginoong Jesu-Cristo, at ng Espiritu ng Diyos.
Ang Katawan at ang Pagluwalhati sa Diyos
12 “Maaari kong gawin ang lahat ng bagay;” ngunit hindi lahat ng bagay ay kapaki-pakinabang. “Maaari kong gawin ang lahat ng bagay,” ngunit hindi ako magpapasakop sa kapangyarihan ng anuman. 13 “Ang pagkain ay para sa tiyan, at ang tiyan ay para sa pagkain,” ngunit ang mga ito'y kapwa wawasakin ng Diyos. Subalit ang katawan ay hindi para sa pakikiapid, kundi para sa Panginoon, at ang Panginoon ay para sa katawan. 14 Muling binuhay ng Diyos ang Panginoon at muli rin niya tayong bubuhayin sa pamamagitan ng kanyang kapangyarihan. 15 Hindi ba ninyo alam na ang inyong mga katawan ay mga bahagi ni Cristo? Kaya't kukuha ba ako ng mga bahagi ni Cristo at gagawin kong mga bahagi ng isang bayarang babae? Huwag nawang mangyari! 16 Hindi ba ninyo alam na ang lalaking nakikisama sa isang bayarang babae ay nagiging kaisang katawan nito? Sapagkat nasasaad, “Ang dalawa ay magiging isang laman.” 17 Ngunit ang taong nakikisama sa Panginoon ay nagiging kaisa ng Panginoon sa espiritu. 18 Layuan ninyo ang pakikiapid. Ang bawat kasalanang nagagawa ng isang tao ay nasa labas ng katawan; ngunit ang nakikiapid ay nagkakasala laban sa kanyang sariling katawan. 19 O hindi ba ninyo alam na ang inyong katawan ay templo ng Banal na Espiritu na taglay ninyo mula sa Diyos? At hindi ninyo pag-aari ang inyong sarili, 20 sapagkat mahal ang pagkabili sa inyo. Kaya't luwalhatiin ninyo ang Diyos sa pamamagitan ng inyong katawan.

6 C'è qualcuno di voi che, quando ha una questione contro un altro, osa farlo giudicare dagli ingiusti invece che dai santi?
2 Non sapete voi che i santi giudicheranno il mondo? E se il mondo è giudicato da voi, siete voi indegni di giudicare dei piccoli problemi?
3 Non sapete voi che noi giudicheremo gli angeli? Quanto piú possiamo giudicare le cose di questa vita!
4 Se avete dunque delle cause giudiziarie per cose di questa vita, stabilite come giudici quelli che nella chiesa sono i meno stimati.
5 Dico questo per farvi vergogna. Cosí, non c'è tra voi neppure un savio, che nel vostro mezzo sia capace di pronunciare un giudizio tra i suoi fratelli?
6 Il fratello invece chiama in giudizio il fratello, e ciò davanti agli infedeli.
7 E certamente già un male che abbiate tra di voi delle cause gli uni contro gli altri. Perché non subite piuttosto un torto? Perché non vi lasciate piuttosto defraudare?
8 Voi invece fate torto e defraudate, e questo nei confronti dei fratelli.
9 Non sapete voi che gli ingiusti non erediteranno il regno di Dio? Non v'ingannate: né i fornicatori, né gli idolatri, né gli adulteri, né gli effeminati, né gli omosessuali,
10 né i ladri, né gli avari, né gli ubriaconi, né gli oltraggiatori, né i rapinatori erediteranno il regno di Dio.
11 Or tali eravate già alcuni di voi; ma siete stati lavati, ma siete stati santificati, ma siete stati giustificati nel nome del Signore Gesú e mediante lo Spirito del nostro Dio.
12 Ogni cosa mi è lecita, ma non ogni cosa è vantaggiosa; ogni cosa mi è lecita, ma non mi lascerò dominare da cosa alcuna.
13 Le vivande sono per il ventre e il ventre per le vivande, Dio distruggerà queste e quello; il corpo però non è per la fornicazione, bensí per il Signore, e il Signore per il corpo.
14 Ora Dio, come ha risuscitato il Signore, cosí risusciterà anche noi con la sua potenza.
15 Non sapete voi che i vostri corpi sono membra di Cristo? Prenderò io dunque le membra di Cristo, per farne le membra di una prostituta? Cosí non sia.
16 Non sapete voi che chi si unisce ad una prostituta forma uno stesso corpo con lei? «I due infatti», dice il Signore, «diventeranno una stessa carne».
17 Ma chi si unisce al Signore è uno stesso spirito con lui.
18 Fuggite la fornicazione. Qualunque altro peccato che l'uomo commetta è fuori del corpo, ma chi commette fornicazione pecca contro il suo proprio corpo.
19 Non sapete che il vostro corpo è il tempio dello Spirito Santo che è in voi, il quale voi avete da Dio, e che voi non appartenete a voi stessi?
20 Infatti siete stati comprati a caro prezzo, glorificate dunque Dio nel vostro corpo e nel vostro spirito, che appartengono a Dio.
