²¹ Were you called while a slave? Do not be concerned about it; but if you can be made free, rather use it.

Submission to Masters^(A)

^18 (B)Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh. ¹⁹ For this is ^(C)commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. ²⁰ For ^(D)what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. ²¹ For ^(E)to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for ^[a]us, ^(F)leaving ^[b]us an example, that you should follow His steps:

^23 (H)who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but ^(I)committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; ^24 (J)who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, ^(K)that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—^(L)by whose ^[c]stripes you were healed.

¹¹ where there is neither ^(A)Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, ^(B)but Christ is all and in all.

¹³ For ^(A)by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—^(B)whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and ^(C)have all been made to drink ^[a]into one Spirit.

²⁹ “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind.

⁴⁰ But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”

⁴¹ And ^[a]Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.

⁷ casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

⁵ Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ^(A)“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
