¹⁷ If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

¹⁸ Flee from sexual immorality.^(A) All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.^{(B) 19} Do you not know that your bodies are temples^(C) of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;^{(D) 20} you were bought at a price.^(E) Therefore honor God with your bodies.^(F)

¹² “This is the law of the temple: All the surrounding area^(A) on top of the mountain will be most holy.^(B) Such is the law of the temple.

¹¹ Therefore as surely as I live,^(A) declares the Sovereign^(B) Lord, because you have defiled my sanctuary^(C) with all your vile images^(D) and detestable practices,^(E) I myself will shave you; I will not look on you with pity or spare you.^(F)

²⁰ But if those who are unclean do not purify themselves, they must be cut off from the community, because they have defiled^(A) the sanctuary of the Lord.^(B) The water of cleansing has not been sprinkled on them, and they are unclean.^(C)

³⁸ They have also done this to me: At that same time they defiled my sanctuary^(A) and desecrated my Sabbaths.^{(B) 39} On the very day they sacrificed their children to their idols, they entered my sanctuary and desecrated^(C) it. That is what they did in my house.^(D)

A psalm of Asaph.

³ I myself will set my face against him and will cut him off from his people;^(A) for by sacrificing his children to Molek, he has defiled^(B) my sanctuary^(C) and profaned my holy name.^(D)
