15 Now I would remind you, brothers,^[a] of the gospel ^(A)I preached to you, which you received, ^(B)in which you stand,

No Other Gospel

⁶ I am astonished that you are ^(A)so quickly deserting ^(B)him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to ^(C)a different gospel— ^7 (D)not that there is another one, but ^(E)there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But even if we or ^(F)an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, ^(G)let him be accursed. ⁹ As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, ^(H)let him be accursed.

¹⁰ For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying ^(I)to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a ^(J)servant^[a] of Christ.

Paul Called by God

¹¹ For ^(K)I would have you know, brothers, that ^(L)the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel.^{[b] 12 (M)}For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it ^(N)through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

Final Greetings

¹² By ^(A)Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, ^(B)I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is ^(C)the true grace of God. ^(D)Stand firm in it.

⁶ And ^(A)you became imitators of us ^(B)and of the Lord, for ^(C)you received the word in much affliction, ^(D)with the ^(E)joy of the Holy Spirit,

²⁴ Not that we ^(A)lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, for you stand firm ^(B)in your faith.

³ For ^(A)I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died ^(B)for our sins ^(C)in accordance with the Scriptures, ⁴ that he was buried, that he was raised ^(D)on the third day ^(E)in accordance with the Scriptures, ⁵ and that ^(F)he appeared to Cephas, then ^(G)to the twelve. ⁶ Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. ⁷ Then he appeared to ^(H)James, then ^(I)to all the apostles. ⁸ Last of all, as to one untimely born, ^(J)he appeared also to me. ⁹ For ^(K)I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because ^(L)I persecuted the church of God. ¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, ^(M)I worked harder than any of them, ^(N)though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. ¹¹ Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

Warning Against Idleness

⁶ Now we command you, brothers, ^(A)in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, ^(B)that you keep away from any ^(C)brother ^(D)who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.

A Life Pleasing to God

4 Finally, then, brothers,^[a] we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you ^(A)received from us ^(B)how you ought to walk and ^(C)to please God, just as you are doing, that you ^(D)do so more and more.

¹³ And ^(A)we also thank God constantly^[a] for this, that when you received ^(B)the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it ^(C)not as the word of men^[b] but as what it really is, the word of God, ^(D)which is at work in you believers.
