Solomon Acknowledged as King^(A)

²¹ The next day they made sacrifices to the Lord and presented burnt offerings to him:^(B) a thousand bulls, a thousand rams and a thousand male lambs, together with their drink offerings, and other sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.^(C)

¹⁷ For the dedication of this house of God they offered^(A) a hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred male lambs and, as a sin offering^[a] for all Israel, twelve male goats, one for each of the tribes of Israel.

⁴ Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord. ⁵ And King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God. ⁶ The priests took their positions, as did the Levites^(A) with the Lord’s musical instruments,^(B) which King David had made for praising the Lord and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, “His love endures forever.” Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.

⁷ Solomon consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the Lord, and there he offered burnt offerings and the fat^(C) of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar he had made could not hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat portions.

⁸ So Solomon observed the festival^(D) at that time for seven days, and all Israel^(E) with him—a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath^(F) to the Wadi of Egypt.^{(G) 9} On the eighth day they held an assembly, for they had celebrated^(H) the dedication of the altar for seven days and the festival^(I) for seven days more.

⁷ and a third of a hin of wine^(A) as a drink offering.^(B) Offer it as an aroma pleasing to the Lord.^(C)

¹⁰ and also bring half a hin of wine^(A) as a drink offering.^(B) This will be a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.^(C)

⁵ With each lamb^(A) for the burnt offering or the sacrifice, prepare a quarter of a hin of wine^(B) as a drink offering.^(C)

¹³ together with its grain offering^(A) of two-tenths of an ephah^[a](B) of the finest flour mixed with olive oil—a food offering presented to the Lord, a pleasing aroma—and its drink offering^(C) of a quarter of a hin^[b] of wine.^(D)

The Dedication of the Temple^(A)

⁶² Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices^(B) before the Lord. ⁶³ Solomon offered a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to the Lord: twenty-two thousand cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the Israelites dedicated^(C) the temple of the Lord.

⁶⁴ On that same day the king consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the Lord, and there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings and the fat^(D) of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar^(E) that stood before the Lord was too small to hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings.^(F)

⁶⁵ So Solomon observed the festival^(G) at that time, and all Israel with him—a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath^(H) to the Wadi of Egypt.^(I) They celebrated it before the Lord our God for seven days and seven days more, fourteen days in all.
