⁴⁰ to present burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly, morning and evening, in accordance with everything written in the Law^(A) of the Lord, which he had given Israel.

³ Say to them: ‘This is the food offering you are to present to the Lord: two lambs a year old without defect,^(A) as a regular burnt offering each day.^{(B) 4} Offer one lamb in the morning and the other at twilight,^{(C) 5} together with a grain offering^(D) of a tenth of an ephah^[a] of the finest flour^(E) mixed with a quarter of a hin^[b] of oil^(F) from pressed olives. ⁶ This is the regular burnt offering^(G) instituted at Mount Sinai^(H) as a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.^{(I) 7} The accompanying drink offering^(J) is to be a quarter of a hin of fermented drink^(K) with each lamb. Pour out the drink offering to the Lord at the sanctuary.^{(L) 8} Offer the second lamb at twilight,^(M) along with the same kind of grain offering and drink offering that you offer in the morning.^(N) This is a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.^(O)

³⁸ “This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day:^(A) two lambs a year old. ³⁹ Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.^{(B) 40} With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah^[a] of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin^[b] of oil^(C) from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.^{(D) 41} Sacrifice the other lamb at twilight^(E) with the same grain offering^(F) and its drink offering as in the morning—a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.

⁴² “For the generations to come^(G) this burnt offering is to be made regularly^(H) at the entrance to the tent of meeting,^(I) before the Lord. There I will meet you and speak to you;^(J)

²¹ while I was still in prayer, Gabriel,^(A) the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice.^(B)

¹³ “‘Every day you are to provide a year-old lamb without defect for a burnt offering to the Lord; morning by morning^(A) you shall provide it.^{(B) 14} You are also to provide with it morning by morning a grain offering, consisting of a sixth of an ephah^[a] with a third of a hin^[b] of oil^(C) to moisten the flour. The presenting of this grain offering to the Lord is a lasting ordinance.^{(D) 15} So the lamb and the grain offering and the oil shall be provided morning by morning for a regular^(E) burnt offering.^(F)

³ Despite their fear^(A) of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and evening sacrifices.^(B)

³ The king contributed^(A) from his own possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, at the New Moons and at the appointed festivals as written in the Law of the Lord.^(B)
