¹⁵ These are the men who crossed the Jordan in the first month, when it was ^(A)overflowing all its banks, and put to flight all those in the valleys, to the east and to the west.

¹⁵ and as soon as those bearing the ark had come as far as the Jordan, and ^(A)the feet of the priests bearing the ark were dipped in the brink of the water (now ^(B)the Jordan overflows all its banks ^(C)throughout the time of harvest),

^19 (A)Behold, ^(B)like a lion coming up from ^(C)the jungle of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make him^[a] run away from her. And I will appoint over her whomever I choose. ^(D)For who is like me? ^(E)Who will summon me? ^(F)What shepherd can stand before me?

¹⁸ And when the priests bearing the ark of the covenant of the Lord came up from the midst of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up on dry ground, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and overflowed all its banks, ^(A)as before.
