1 От Паула, Силуана[a] и Тиметея – общине верующих в Фессалониках, принадлежащей Небесному Отцу и Повелителю Исе Масиху[b].
Благодать и мир вам[c]!
Благодарность Всевышнему за веру фессалоникийцев
2 Мы всегда благодарим Всевышнего за всех вас, вспоминая вас в своих молитвах, 3 постоянно помня о делах вашей веры, о труде, который вы совершаете по любви, и о вашей стойкости в надежде на нашего Повелителя Ису Масиха перед Всевышним, нашим Небесным Отцом.
4 Всевышний любит вас, братья, и мы знаем, что Он избрал вас! 5 Наша Радостная Весть пришла к вам не только как слова, но в ней были и сила Святого Духа, и полная уверенность в её истине. Вы знаете и то, какими мы были для вас, находясь с вами. 6 И вы стали подражать нам и Повелителю, и, несмотря на большие страдания, приняли слово о Масихе с радостью, данной вам Святым Духом. 7 Вы стали образцом для верующих в Македонии и Ахаии[d], 8 и слово Повелителя, таким образом, распространилось от вас не только в Македонии и Ахаии, но и повсюду разошлась весть о вашей вере во Всевышнего, и нам уже ничего и не нужно говорить. 9 Так как уже другие рассказывают нам о том, как вы нас приняли и как вы оставили идолов и обратились к живому и истинному Богу, чтобы служить Ему 10 и ожидать с небес Его (вечного) Сына[e], Которого Он воскресил из мёртвых, Ису, Который избавляет нас от приближающегося гнева Всевышнего.

- 1:10 То, что Иса назван Сыном Всевышнего, не означает, что у Всевышнего есть сын, который был зачат обычным путём. В древности у иудеев титул «сын Всевышнего» применялся к царям Исраила (см. 2 Цар. 7:14; Заб. 2:6-7), но также указывал на ожидаемого Масиха, Спасителя и праведного Царя от Всевышнего, т. е. Ису (см. Ин. 1:49; 11:27; 20:31). В Инджиле через этот термин постепенно раскрывается идея вечных взаимоотношений Всевышнего и Масиха, указывающая на сходство характеров и единство природы Этих Личностей, на понятном нам примере – близких взаимоотношениях отца и сына (см. 1 Ин. 2:23).

To the congregation of the Thessalonians in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Grace be with you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 We give God thanks always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers without ceasing, 3 and call to remembrance your work in the faith and labour in love, and perseverance in the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of God our Father, 4 because we know, brethren beloved of God, that you are elect. 5 For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and also in the Holy Spirit – and in much confidence, as you know how we conducted ourselves among you for your sakes.
6 And you became followers of us and of the Lord, and received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you were an example to all who believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For the word of the Lord sounded out from you – not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but the faith that you have in God went abroad in all quarters, so greatly that it is not necessary for us to say anything at all. 9 For people themselves speak of you: what manner of entry we had in to you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God, 10 and to look for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from death; I mean Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.

The Thessalonians’ Faith and Example
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, brethren beloved by God, that he has chosen you; 5 for our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. 6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with joy inspired by the Holy Spirit; 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedo′nia and in Acha′ia. 8 For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedo′nia and Acha′ia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. 9 For they themselves report concerning us what a welcome we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
