3 И аз, братя, не можах да говоря на вас, като на духовни, но като на плътски, като на младенци в Христа.
2 С мляко ви храних, не с твърда храна; защото още не можехте да го приемете, а и сега още не можете.
3 Понеже и досега сте плътски; защото, докато има между вас завист и разпра, не сте ли плътски, и не постъпвате ли по човешки?
4 Защото, кога един казва: Аз съм Павлов, а друг: Аз съм Аполосов, не сте ли като човеци слаби?
5 Какво е, прочее, Аполос, и какво е Павел? Те са служители, чрез които повярвахте, и то както Господ е дал на всеки от тях.
6 Аз насадих, Аполос напои, но Господ прави да расте.
7 И тъй, нито който сади е нещо, нито който пои, а Господ, Който прави да расте.
8 Прочее, тоя, който сади, и тоя, който пои, са равни, обаче всеки според своя труд ще получи своята награда;
9 защото сме съработници на Бога, като вие сте Божия нива, Божие здание.
10 Според дадената ми Божия благодат, като изкусен строител аз положих основа; а друг гради на нея.
11 Защото никой не може да положи друга основа, освен положената, която е Исус Христос.
12 И ако някой гради на основата злато, сребро, скъпоценни камъни, дърво, сено, слама,
13 всекиму работата ще стане явна каква е; защото Господният ден ще я изяви, понеже тя чрез огън се открива; и самият огън ще изпита работата на всекиго каква е.
14 Тоя, комуто работата, която е градил, устои, ще получи награда.
15 А тоя, комуто работата изгори, ще претърпи загуба; а сам той ще се избави, но тъй като през огън.
16 Не знаете ли, че сте храм на Бога, и че Божият Дух живее във вас?
17 Ако някой развали Божия храм, него Бог ще развали; защото Божият храм е свет, който храм сте вие.
18 Никой да не се лъже. Ако някой между вас мисли, че е мъдър според тоя век, нека стане глупав за да бъде мъдър.
19 Защото мъдростта на тоя свят е глупост пред Бога, понеже е писано: "Улавя мъртвите в лукавството им";
20 и пак: "Господ знае, разсъжденията на мъдрите са суетни".
21 Затова никой да се не хвали с човеците. Защото всичко е ваше;
22 било Павел, или Аполос, или Кифа, или светът, или животът, или смъртта, или сегашното, или бъдещето, всичко е ваше;
23 а вие сте Христови, а Христос Божий.

3 Но аз, братя и сестри, в миналото не можех да ви говоря като на хора, които имат Духа, а трябваше да ви говоря като на хора от този свят, като на бебета в Христос. 2 Храних ви с мляко, а не с твърда храна, защото не бяхте готови да я приемете, както и сега не сте готови, 3 понеже сте все още хора от света. Защото щом като между вас има завист и раздори, нима това не показва, че сте хора от света и че постъпвате напълно по човешки? 4 Когато един казва: „Аз принадлежа на Павел“, а друг: „Аз принадлежа на Аполос“, не постъпвате ли като хора от света?
5 Кой е Аполос и кой е Павел? Те са само служители, чрез които вие повярвахте, и извършиха делото си така, както Бог бе възложил на всеки един. 6 Аз посях семето, Аполос го поля, но Бог го направи да порасне. 7 Ето защо, важен е не този, който сее, нито този, който полива, а Бог, който прави посятото да расте. 8 Този, който сее, и този, който полива, работят с една цел и всеки ще получи своята награда според труда си. 9 Ние заедно работим за Бога, а вие сте Божията нива и Божията постройка.
10 Според дарбата, която Бог ми даде, аз поставих основата като мъдър майстор-строител, а друг гради върху нея, но всеки трябва да внимава как гради. 11 Защото никой не може да положи основа, различна от тази, която вече е положена, и тази основа е Исус Христос. 12 Когато хората градят върху тази основа, независимо дали използват злато, сребро, скъпоценни камъни, дърво, сено или слама, 13 работата на всеки ще се види ясно, защото Денят, който ще дойде с огън, ще направи всичко ясно и същият този огън ще изпита работата на всеки, за да определи каква е. 14 И ако работата на някого — онова, което е построил върху основата — издържи, този човек ще получи награда. 15 Ако изгори, този, който го е построил, ще понесе щети, самият той обаче ще се спаси, но така, както се спасява човек, който успява да избяга от горяща сграда.
16 Нима не знаете, че вие сте Божият храм и Божият Дух живее във вас? 17 Ако някой разруши Божия храм, Бог ще го унищожи, защото Божият храм е свят, а този храм сте вие.
18 Не се заблуждавайте! Ако някой сред вас се смята за мъдър според стандартите на този свят, нека стане „глупав“, за да стане наистина мъдър. 19 Защото мъдростта на този свят е глупост в очите на Бога. Писанието казва: „Бог улавя мъдрите в техните хитрувания.“(A) 20 Казано е също: „Господ знае, че мислите на мъдрите са безполезни.“(B) 21 Ето защо никой не трябва да се хвали с хора, защото всичко е ваше: 22 Павел, Аполос и Кифа,[a] светът, животът и смъртта, настоящето и бъдещето. Всичко принадлежи на вас, 23 а вие принадлежите на Христос, който принадлежи на Бога.

3 And I, brothers and sisters, could not speak to you as (A)spiritual people, but only as (B)fleshly, as to (C)infants in Christ. 2 I gave you (D)milk to drink, not solid food; for you (E)were not yet able to consume it. But even now you are not yet able, 3 for you are still fleshly. For since there is (F)jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking (G)like ordinary people? 4 For when (H)one person says, “I am [a]with Paul,” and another, “I am [b]with Apollos,” are you not ordinary (I)people?
5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? (J)Servants through whom you believed, even (K)as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. 6 (L)I planted, (M)Apollos watered, but (N)God was causing the growth. 7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. 8 Now the one who plants and the one who waters are one; but each will (O)receive his own [c]reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s (P)fellow workers; you are God’s [d](Q)field, God’s (R)building.
10 According to (S)the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder (T)I laid a foundation, and (U)another is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it. 11 For no one can lay a (V)foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 (W)each one’s work will become evident; for (X)the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test [e]the quality of each one’s work. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will (Y)receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet only (Z)so as through fire.
16 (AA)Do you not know that (AB)you are a [f]temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys the [g]temple of God, God will destroy [h]that person; for the [i]temple of God is holy, [j]and that is what you are.
18 (AC)Take care that no one deceives himself. (AD)If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in (AE)this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. 19 For (AF)the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. For it is written: “He is (AG)the one who catches the wise by their craftiness”; 20 and again, “(AH)The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are useless.” 21 So then, (AI)no one is to be boasting in people. For (AJ)all things belong to you, 22 (AK)whether Paul or Apollos or [k]Cephas, or the world or (AL)life or death, or things present or things to come; all things belong to you, 23 and (AM)you belong to Christ, and (AN)Christ belongs to God.

The Church and Its Leaders
3 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit(A) but as people who are still worldly(B)—mere infants(C) in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food,(D) for you were not yet ready for it.(E) Indeed, you are still not ready. 3 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling(F) among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,”(G) are you not mere human beings?
5 What, after all, is Apollos?(H) And what is Paul? Only servants,(I) through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed,(J) Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.(K) 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service;(L) you are God’s field,(M) God’s building.(N)
10 By the grace God has given me,(O) I laid a foundation(P) as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.(Q) 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is,(R) because the Day(S) will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.(T) 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.(U) 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.(V)
16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple(W) and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?(X) 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise(Y) by the standards of this age,(Z) you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness(AA) in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”[a];(AB) 20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”[b](AC) 21 So then, no more boasting about human leaders!(AD) All things are yours,(AE) 22 whether Paul or Apollos(AF) or Cephas[c](AG) or the world or life or death or the present or the future(AH)—all are yours, 23 and you are of Christ,(AI) and Christ is of God.
