⁹ We know that the law is not meant for a righteous person, but for the lawless and rebellious,^(A) for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and irreverent, for those who kill their fathers and mothers, for murderers, ¹⁰ for the sexually immoral^(B) and homosexuals,^(C) for kidnappers,^[a] liars,^(D) perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching^(E)

Difficult Times Ahead

3 But know this: Difficult times will come in the last days.^{(A) 2} For people will be lovers of self,^(B) lovers of money,^(C) boastful, proud,^(D) blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,^{(E) 3} unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers,^(F) without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good,^{(G) 4} traitors,^(H) reckless,^(I) conceited,^(J) lovers of pleasure^(K) rather than lovers of God, ⁵ holding to the form of godliness but denying its power.^(L) Avoid these people!^(M)

³ For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine,^(A) but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new.^[a]

⁹ Don’t you know that the unrighteous^(A) will not inherit God’s kingdom?^(B) Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters,^(C) adulterers,^(D) or anyone practicing homosexuality,^{[a](E) 10} no thieves,^(F) greedy^(G) people, drunkards, verbally abusive people,^(H) or swindlers^(I) will inherit God’s kingdom.
