34 Otherwise, as surely as the Lord God of Israel lives, who prevented me from harming you, if you had not come quickly to meet me, Nabal wouldn’t have had any males[a] left by morning light.” 35 Then David accepted what she had brought him and said, “Go home in peace.(A) See, I have heard what you said and have granted your request.”(B)

36 Then Abigail went to Nabal, and there he was in his house, holding a feast fit for a king.(C) Nabal’s heart was cheerful,[b] and he was very drunk, so she didn’t say anything[c] to him(D) until morning light.

36 When Abigail went to Nabal, he was in the house holding a banquet like that of a king. He was in high(C) spirits and very drunk.(D) So she told(E) him nothing at all until daybreak.
