^4 (A)even as he ^(B)chose us in him ^(C)before the foundation of the world, that we should be ^(D)holy and blameless before him. In love

^9 (A)who saved us and ^(B)called us to^[a] a holy calling, ^(C)not because of our works but because of ^(D)his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus ^(E)before the ages began,^{[b] 10} and which now has ^(F)been manifested through ^(G)the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, ^(H)who abolished death and ^(I)brought life and ^(J)immortality to light through the gospel,

²⁶ for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, ^(A)he has appeared ^(B)once for all ^(C)at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
