Ahaziah King of Israel

⁵¹ Ahaziah son of Ahab became king of Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years.

21 Then Jehoshaphat rested with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David. And Jehoram^(A) his son succeeded him as king.

22 The people^(C) of Jerusalem^(D) made Ahaziah, Jehoram’s youngest son, king in his place, since the raiders,^(E) who came with the Arabs into the camp, had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah began to reign.

Joash Repairs the Temple^(A)(B)

24 Joash was seven years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba.

²⁷ The account of his sons, the many prophecies about him, and the record of the restoration of the temple of God are written in the annotations on the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son succeeded him as king.
