17 Jehu will kill anyone who escapes Hazael’s sword, and Elisha will kill anyone who escapes from Jehu’s sword. 18 I still have 7000 people in Israel who have never bowed down to Baal or kissed that idol.”
Elisha Becomes a Prophet
19 So Elijah left that place and went to find Elisha son of Shaphat. Elisha was plowing 12 acres of land and was working on the last acre when Elijah came.[a] Elijah went to Elisha and put his coat[b] on Elisha.

17 Jehu will put to death any who escape the sword of Hazael,(A) and Elisha will put to death any who escape the sword of Jehu.(B) 18 Yet I reserve(C) seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed(D) him.”

19 So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen, and he himself was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak(E) around him.
