4 For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and (A)his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, (B)as was the heart of David his father. 5 For Solomon went after (C)Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after (D)Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 6 So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and did not wholly follow the Lord, as David his father had done.

4 As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods,(A) and his heart was not fully devoted(B) to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 5 He followed Ashtoreth(C) the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek(D) the detestable god of the Ammonites. 6 So Solomon did evil(E) in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done.
