⁷ But I did not believe^(A) these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth^(B) you have far exceeded the report I heard.

⁹ However, as it is written:

² Dear friends,^(A) now we are children of God,^(B) and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,^[a](C) we shall be like him,^(D) for we shall see him as he is.^(E)

²⁵ So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side,^(A) I will not believe.”^(B)

²⁶ A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace^(C) be with you!”^{(D) 27} Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”^(E)

²⁸ Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

²⁹ Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed;^(F) blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”^(G)

¹¹ When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.^(A)
