(A)Love suffers long and is (B)kind; love (C)does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not [a]puffed up; does not behave rudely, (D)does not seek its own, is not provoked, [b]thinks no evil; (E)does not rejoice in iniquity, but (F)rejoices in the truth; (G)bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. (H)For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is [c]perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not get upset with others. Love does not count up wrongs that have been done. Love takes no pleasure in evil but rejoices over the truth. Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always endures.

Love never ends. There are gifts of prophecy, but they will be ended. There are gifts of speaking in different languages, but those gifts will stop. There is the gift of knowledge, but it will come to an end. The reason is that our knowledge and our ability to prophesy are not perfect. 10 But when perfection comes, the things that are not perfect will end.

3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

8-10 Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.

Love (A)is patient, love is kind, it (B)is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not (C)arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it (D)does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, (E)does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, (F)it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but (G)rejoices with the truth; it [a](H)keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails; but if there are gifts of [b](I)prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are (J)tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with. For we (K)know in part and prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away with.
