David Defeats Nations
18 Later, David defeated the Philistines, conquered them, and took the city of Gath and the small towns around it.
2 He also defeated the people of Moab. So the people of Moab became servants of David and gave him the payment he demanded.
3 David also defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah all the way to the town of Hamath as he tried to spread his kingdom to the Euphrates River.

18 In the course of time, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and he took Gath and its surrounding villages from the control of the Philistines.
2 David also defeated the Moabites,(B) and they became subject to him and brought him tribute.
3 Moreover, David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah,(C) in the vicinity of Hamath, when he went to set up his monument at[a] the Euphrates River.(D)
