52 Awake, awake!
Clothe yourself in your strength, Zion!
Clothe yourself in beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city,
for the uncircumcised and the unclean
    will never invade you again.
² Shake off the dust and arise!
Be enthroned, Jerusalem.
Loose the bonds off your neck,
    captive Daughter of Zion.

³ to console those who mourn in Zion,
to give them beauty for ashes,
    the oil of joy for mourning,^[a]
    the garment of praise
        for the spirit of heaviness,
    that they might be called oaks of righteousness,
    the planting of Adonai,
    that He may be glorified.

²⁹ Ascribe to Adonai the glory due to His Name.
Bring an offering and come before Him.
Worship Adonai in the splendor of holiness.

³ Your people will be a freewill offering in a day of your power.
In holy splendors, from dawn’s womb,
    yours is the dew of your youth.
