Proverbs 9:1-11

Wisdom’s Feast
9 Wisdom has built her house,
she has hewn her seven pillars.
2 She has slaughtered her animals, she has mixed her wine,
she has also set her table.
3 She has sent out her servant-girls, she calls
from the highest places in the town,
4 “You that are simple, turn in here!”
To those without sense she says,
5 “Come, eat of my bread
and drink of the wine I have mixed.
6 Lay aside immaturity,[a] and live,
and walk in the way of insight.”
General Maxims
7 Whoever corrects a scoffer wins abuse;
whoever rebukes the wicked gets hurt.
8 A scoffer who is rebuked will only hate you;
the wise, when rebuked, will love you.
9 Give instruction[b] to the wise, and they will become wiser still;
teach the righteous and they will gain in learning.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
11 For by me your days will be multiplied,
and years will be added to your life.

9 (A)La saggezza ha fabbricato la sua casa, ha lavorato le sue colonne in numero di sette;
2 ha ammazzato i suoi animali, ha preparato il suo vino e ha anche apparecchiato la sua mensa.
3 Ha mandato fuori le sue ancelle; dall’alto dei luoghi elevati della città essa chiama:
4 «Chi è sciocco venga qua!» A quelli che sono privi di senno dice:
5 «Venite, mangiate il mio pane e bevete il vino che ho preparato!
6 Lasciate, sciocchi, la stoltezza e vivrete; camminate per la via dell’intelligenza!»
7 Chi corregge il beffardo si attira insulti, chi riprende l’empio riceve affronto.
8 Non riprendere il beffardo, per evitare che ti odi; riprendi il saggio e ti amerà.
9 Istruisci il saggio e diventerà più saggio che mai; insegna al giusto e accrescerà il suo sapere.
10 Il principio della saggezza è il timore del Signore, e conoscere il Santo è l’intelligenza.
11 Per mio mezzo infatti ti saranno moltiplicati i giorni, ti saranno aumentati anni di vita.

9 Die Weisheit hat ihr Haus gebaut,
hat ihre sieben Säulen ausgehauen.
2 Sie hat ihr Vieh geschlachtet, ihren Wein gemischt
und ihre Tafel gedeckt.
3 Sie hat ihre Mägde ausgesandt, sie lädt ein
auf den Höhen der Stadt:
4 »Wer unverständig ist, der komme herzu!«
Zum Uneinsichtigen spricht sie:
5 »Kommt her, esst von meinem Brot
und trinkt von dem Wein, den ich gemischt habe!
6 Verlasst die Torheit, damit ihr lebt,
und wandelt auf dem Weg der Einsicht!«
7 Wer einen Spötter züchtigt, holt sich Beschimpfung,
und wer einen Gesetzlosen zurechtweist, der holt sich Schmach.
8 Weise nicht den Spötter zurecht, damit er dich nicht hasst;
weise den Weisen zurecht, und er wird dich lieben!
9 Gib dem Weisen, so wird er noch weiser werden;
belehre den Gerechten, so wird er noch mehr lernen!
10 Die Furcht des Herrn ist der Anfang der Weisheit,
und die Erkenntnis des Heiligen ist Einsicht.
11 Denn durch mich werden deine Tage sich mehren
und werden Jahre zu deinem Leben hinzugefügt.

A bölcsesség és a balgaság hívogatása
9 A bölcsesség házat épített magának, hét oszlopot faragott hozzá.
2 Levágta vágómarháját, megfűszerezte borát, és megterítette asztalát.
3 Lányokat küldött ki, hogy így kiáltsanak a város magasan fekvő pontjain:
4 Aki tapasztalatlan, térjen be ide! Az esztelennek pedig ezt mondja:
5 Jöjjetek, egyetek a kenyeremből, és igyatok fűszerezett boromból!
6 Hagyjátok el az együgyűséget, és éltek, járjatok az értelem útján!
7 Aki meginti a csúfolódót, maga fog pironkodni, aki megfeddi a bűnöst, magát szennyezi be.
8 Ne fedd meg a csúfolódót, mert meggyűlöl téged, de fedd meg a bölcset, az szeretni fog téged!
9 Adj a bölcsnek, és még bölcsebb lesz, tanítsd az igazat, és ő gyarapítja tudását!
10 A bölcsesség kezdete az Úrnak félelme, és a Szentnek a megismerése ad értelmet.
11 Mert általam sokasodnak meg napjaid, és gyarapodnak életed évei.
