2 Corinthians 13:3-13

3 since you desire proof that Christ is speaking in me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful in you. 4 For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we are weak in him,[a] but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God.
5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are living in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless, indeed, you fail to meet the test! 6 I hope you will find out that we have not failed. 7 But we pray to God that you may not do anything wrong—not that we may appear to have met the test, but that you may do what is right, though we may seem to have failed. 8 For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. 9 For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. This is what we pray for, that you may become perfect. 10 So I write these things while I am away from you, so that when I come, I may not have to be severe in using the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.

11 Finally, brothers and sisters,[b] farewell.[c] Put things in order, listen to my appeal,[d] agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. 12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints greet you.
13 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of[e] the Holy Spirit be with all of you.

4 Denn wenn er auch aus Schwachheit gekreuzigt wurde, so lebt er doch aus der Kraft Gottes; so sind auch wir zwar schwach in ihm, doch werden wir mit ihm leben aus der Kraft Gottes für euch.
5 Prüft euch selbst, ob ihr im Glauben seid; stellt euch selbst auf die Probe! Oder erkennt ihr euch selbst nicht, dass Jesus Christus in euch ist? Es sei denn, dass ihr unecht[a] wärt!
6 Ich hoffe aber, ihr werdet erkennen, dass wir nicht unecht sind.
7 Ich bete aber zu Gott, dass ihr nichts Böses tut; nicht damit wir bewährt erscheinen, sondern damit ihr das Gute tut, wir aber wie Unbewährte seien.
8 Denn wir vermögen nichts gegen die Wahrheit, sondern [nur] für die Wahrheit.
9 Wir freuen uns nämlich, wenn wir schwach sind, ihr aber stark seid; das aber wünschen wir auch, euer Zurechtkommen.
10 Darum schreibe ich dies abwesend, damit ich anwesend nicht Strenge gebrauchen muss gemäß der Vollmacht, die mir der Herr gegeben hat zum Erbauen und nicht zum Zerstören.
11 Im Übrigen, ihr Brüder, freut euch, lasst euch zurechtbringen, lasst euch ermahnen, seid eines Sinnes, haltet Frieden; so wird der Gott der Liebe und des Friedens mit euch sein!
12 Grüßt einander mit einem heiligen Kuss! Es grüßen euch alle Heiligen.
13 Die Gnade des Herrn Jesus Christus und die Liebe Gottes und die Gemeinschaft des Heiligen Geistes sei mit euch allen! Amen.

4 Mert ha meg is feszíttetett erőtlenségből, él az Isten hatalmából, és ha mi erőtlenek vagyunk is őbenne, élni fogunk vele együtt az Isten hatalmából közöttetek.

9 Mert örülünk, ha mi erőtlenek vagyunk, ti pedig erősek vagytok. Könyörgünk a ti épülésetekért.
10 Azért írom ezeket távollétemben, hogy ottlétemkor ne kelljen keményen bánnom veletek aszerint a hatalom szerint, amelyet az Úr nekem építésre, és nem rombolásra adott.

4 Certes, il est mort sur la croix à cause de sa faiblesse, mais il vit par la puissance de Dieu. Nous, de même, dans notre union avec lui, nous sommes faibles, mais nous nous montrerons vivants avec lui par la puissance de Dieu dans notre façon d’agir envers vous.
5 Faites donc vous-mêmes votre propre critique, et examinez-vous, pour voir si vous vivez dans la foi. Ne reconnaissez-vous pas que Jésus-Christ est en vous[a] ? A moins, peut-être, que cet examen n’aboutisse pour vous à un échec.
6 Mais vous reconnaîtrez, je l’espère, que nous, nous avons fait nos preuves ! 7 Ce que nous demandons à Dieu, c’est que vous vous absteniez de tout mal. Car, en fait, nous ne tenons pas du tout à montrer que nous avons fait nos preuves. Tout ce que nous désirons, c’est que vous fassiez le bien, même si l’épreuve paraît devoir tourner contre nous. 8 En effet, nous n’avons aucun pouvoir contre la vérité. C’est seulement pour la vérité que nous en avons. 9 Nous sommes contents d’être faibles si vous, vous êtes réellement forts. C’est justement ce que nous demandons à Dieu dans nos prières : votre perfectionnement. 10 Voilà pourquoi je vous écris tout cela pendant que je suis encore loin, pour qu’étant présent, je n’aie pas à faire usage, avec sévérité, de l’autorité que le Seigneur m’a donnée pour construire et non pour renverser[b].

Other boats were with him. 37 A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39 He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. 40 He said to them, “Why are you afraid? 36 Und nachdem sie die Volksmenge entlassen hatten, nahmen sie ihn mit, wie er da in dem Schiff war; es waren aber auch andere kleine Schiffe bei ihm.
37 Und es erhob sich ein großer Sturm, und die Wellen schlugen in das Schiff, sodass es sich schon zu füllen begann.
38 Und er war hinten auf dem Schiff und schlief auf einem Kissen. Und sie weckten ihn auf und sprachen zu ihm: Meister, kümmert es dich nicht, dass wir umkommen?

36 Miután tehát elbocsátották a sokaságot, magukkal vitték őt, úgy, ahogy éppen a hajóban volt; de más hajók is voltak a nyomában.
37 Ekkor nagy szélvihar támadt, és a hullámok becsaptak a hajóba, úgyhogy az már kezdett megtelni.

36 Ils laissèrent la foule et emmenèrent Jésus sur le lac, dans le bateau où il se trouvait. D’autres bateaux les accompagnaient. 37 Or, voilà qu’un vent très violent se mit à souffler. Les vagues se jetaient contre le bateau, qui se remplissait d’eau. 38 Lui, à l’arrière, dormait, la tête sur un coussin.
Les disciples le réveillèrent et lui crièrent : Maître, nous sommes perdus, et tu ne t’en soucies pas ?
39 Il se réveilla, parla sévèrement au vent et ordonna au lac : Silence ! Tais-toi !
Le vent tomba, et il se fit un grand calme.
40 Puis il dit à ses disciples : Pourquoi avez-vous si peur ? Vous ne croyez pas encore ?
