아하시야 왕에게 내린 하나님의 심판
1 아합이 죽은 뒤에 모압이 이스라엘에 반역하였다. 2 그런데 아하시야가 사마리아에 있는 자기의 왕궁 이층 창문에서 떨어져 크게 다쳤다. 그러자 그는 “에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 가서 내 상처가 나을 것인지 알아보라.”라고 말하여 사절단을 보냈다.
3 주의 천사가 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 말하였다. “올라가 사마리아 왕이 보낸 사절들을 만나서 그들에게 이렇게 물어라. ‘이스라엘에는 하나님이 없어서, 너희가 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물어보러 가느냐?’

The Lord’s Judgment on Ahaziah
1 After Ahab’s death, Moab(A) rebelled against Israel. 2 Now Ahaziah had fallen through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria and injured himself. So he sent messengers,(B) saying to them, “Go and consult Baal-Zebub,(C) the god of Ekron,(D) to see if I will recover(E) from this injury.”
3 But the angel(F) of the Lord said to Elijah(G) the Tishbite, “Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel(H) that you are going off to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’
