6 그러나 하나님의 약속은 이루어지지 않은 것이 아닙니다. 이스라엘 조상을 두었다고 해서 다 이스라엘 사람이 아니며
7 아브라함의 후손이라고 해서 다 그의 자녀가 아닙니다. 오히려 하나님은 [a]“이삭을 통해서 난 사람이라야 [b]네 후손으로 인정될 것이다” 라고 말씀하셨습니다.
8 이것은 육신의 자녀가 하나님의 자녀가 아니라 약속의 자녀라야 아브라함의 후손이 된다는 말입니다.

For not all who come from Israel are Israelites. 7 Nor are they all children just because they are the seed of Abraham, but: In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is to say, the children of the flesh are not the children of God, but the children of promise are counted the seed.

God’s Sovereign Choice
6 It is not as though God’s word(A) had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.(B) 7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”[a](C) 8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children,(D) but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.(E)
