여러 가지 교훈
4 그러나 성령님은 훗날 어떤 사람들이 믿음을 버리고 속이는 영들과 귀신들 의 가르침을 따를 것이라고 분명하게 말씀하십니다.
2 이런 가르침은 양심이 마비된 거짓말하는 위선자들에게서 나오는 것입니다.
3 그들은 결혼을 못하게 하고 어떤 음식은 먹지도 못하게 합니다. 그러나 음식은 믿는 사람들과 진리를 아는 사람들이 감사한 마음으로 먹으라고 하나님이 주신 것입니다.
4 하나님이 창조하신 것은 다 좋은 것이며 감사하는 마음으로 받으면 하나도 버릴 것이 없습니다.
5 그것은 음식이 하나님의 말씀과 기도로 거룩해지기 때문입니다.
6 그대가 이런 교훈을 형제들에게 잘 가르치면 그리스도 예수님의 훌륭한 일꾼이 될 것이며 그대 자신도 믿음의 말씀과 그대가 따르는 선한 교훈으로 양육을 받게 될 것입니다.
7 하나님을 모독하는 무가치한 신화를 버리고 경건한 사람이 되도록 훈련하시오.
8 육체의 훈련은 약간의 유익이 있으나 경건은 모든 일에 유익이 있으며 이 세상에서의 삶뿐만 아니라 저 세상에서의 영원한 생명까지 약속해 줍니다.
9 이것은 모든 사람이 받아들여도 좋은 믿을 만한 말입니다.
10 이것을 위해 우리가 수고하고 애쓰는 것은 우리의 희망을 살아 계신 하나님께 두었기 때문입니다. 하나님은 모든 사람, 특별히 믿는 사람들의 구주이십니다.
11 그대는 이것을 명령하고 가르치시오.
12 그대가 젊다는 이유로 아무도 그대를 업신여기지 못하게 하고 말과 행동과 사랑과 믿음과 순결로 믿는 사람들에게 모범을 보이시오.
13 내가 갈 때까지 열심히 성경을 읽고 권면하며 가르치기 바랍니다.
14 그대가 간직한 은혜의 선물을 소홀히 여겨서는 안 됩니다. 그것은 장로들의 모임에서 안수받을 때 예언의 말씀을 통해 그대에게 주어진 것입니다.
15 그대는 이 일을 깊이 생각하고 실천하여 그대가 발전하는 모습을 모든 사람이 보게 하시오.
16 그대는 그대의 삶과 가르치는 일을 잘 살펴 꾸준히 그 일을 계속하시오. 그러면 그대 자신과 그대의 말을 듣는 사람들을 다 구원하게 될 것입니다.

4 Ac y mae’r Ysbryd yn eglur yn dywedyd yr ymedy rhai yn yr amseroedd diwethaf oddi wrth y ffydd, gan roddi coel i ysbrydion cyfeiliornus, ac i athrawiaethau cythreuliaid; 2 Yn dywedyd celwydd mewn rhagrith, a’u cydwybod eu hunain wedi ei serio â haearn poeth; 3 Yn gwahardd priodi, ac yn erchi ymatal oddi wrth fwydydd, y rhai a greodd Duw i’w derbyn, trwy roddi diolch, gan y ffyddloniaid a’r rhai a adwaenant y gwirionedd. 4 Oblegid y mae pob peth a greodd Duw yn dda, ac nid oes dim i’w wrthod, os cymerir trwy dalu diolch. 5 Canys y mae wedi ei sancteiddio gan air Duw a gweddi. 6 Os gosodi y pethau hyn o flaen y brodyr, ti a fyddi weinidog da i Iesu Grist, wedi dy fagu yng ngeiriau’r ffydd ac athrawiaeth dda, yr hon a ddilynaist. 7 Eithr gad heibio halogedig a gwrachïaidd chwedlau, ac ymarfer dy hun i dduwioldeb. 8 Canys i ychydig y mae ymarfer corfforol yn fuddiol: eithr duwioldeb sydd fuddiol i bob peth, a chanddi addewid o’r bywyd y sydd yr awron, ac o’r hwn a fydd. 9 Gwir yw’r gair, ac yn haeddu pob derbyniad. 10 Canys er mwyn hyn yr ydym yn poeni, ac yn cael ein gwaradwyddo, oherwydd i ni obeithio yn y Duw byw, yr hwn yw Achubydd pob dyn, yn enwedig y ffyddloniaid. 11 Y pethau hyn gorchymyn a dysg. 12 Na ddiystyred neb dy ieuenctid di; eithr bydd yn siampl i’r ffyddloniaid, mewn gair, mewn ymarweddiad, mewn cariad, mewn ysbryd, mewn ffydd, mewn purdeb. 13 Hyd oni ddelwyf, glŷn wrth ddarllen, wrth gynghori, wrth athrawiaethu. 14 Nac esgeulusa’r dawn sydd ynot, yr hwn a rodded i ti trwy broffwydoliaeth, gydag arddodiad dwylo’r henuriaeth. 15 Myfyria ar y pethau hyn, ac yn y pethau hyn aros; fel y byddo dy gynnydd yn eglur i bawb. 16 Gwylia arnat dy hun, ac ar yr athrawiaeth; aros ynddynt: canys os gwnei hyn, ti a’th gedwi dy hun a’r rhai a wrandawant arnat.

4 The Spirit(A) clearly says that in later times(B) some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits(C) and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.(D) 3 They forbid people to marry(E) and order them to abstain from certain foods,(F) which God created(G) to be received with thanksgiving(H) by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good,(I) and nothing is to be rejected(J) if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God(K) and prayer.
6 If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters,[a] you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith(L) and of the good teaching that you have followed.(M) 7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;(N) rather, train yourself to be godly.(O) 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things,(P) holding promise for both the present life(Q) and the life to come.(R) 9 This is a trustworthy saying(S) that deserves full acceptance. 10 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God,(T) who is the Savior of all people,(U) and especially of those who believe.
11 Command and teach these things.(V) 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you(W) because you are young, but set an example(X) for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith(Y) and in purity. 13 Until I come,(Z) devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture,(AA) to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy(AB) when the body of elders(AC) laid their hands on you.(AD)
15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save(AE) both yourself and your hearers.

I falsi dottori
4 Lo Spirito dichiara apertamente che negli ultimi tempi alcuni si allontaneranno dalla fede, dando retta a spiriti menzogneri e a dottrine diaboliche, 2 sedotti dall'ipocrisia di impostori, gia bollati a fuoco nella loro coscienza. 3 Costoro vieteranno il matrimonio, imporranno di astenersi da alcuni cibi che Dio ha creato per essere mangiati con rendimento di grazie dai fedeli e da quanti conoscono la verità. 4 Infatti tutto ciò che è stato creato da Dio è buono e nulla è da scartarsi, quando lo si prende con rendimento di grazie, 5 perché esso viene santificato dalla parola di Dio e dalla preghiera.
6 Proponendo queste cose ai fratelli sarai un buon ministro di Cristo Gesù, nutrito come sei dalle parole della fede e della buona dottrina che hai seguito. 7 Rifiuta invece le favole profane, roba da vecchierelle.
8 Esèrcitati nella pietà, perché l'esercizio fisico è utile a poco, mentre la pietà è utile a tutto, portando con sé la promessa della vita presente come di quella futura. 9 Certo questa parola è degna di fede. 10 Noi infatti ci affatichiamo e combattiamo perché abbiamo posto la nostra speranza nel Dio vivente, che è il salvatore di tutti gli uomini, ma soprattutto di quelli che credono. 11 Questo tu devi proclamare e insegnare.
12 Nessuno disprezzi la tua giovane età, ma sii esempio ai fedeli nelle parole, nel comportamento, nella carità, nella fede, nella purezza. 13 Fino al mio arrivo, dèdicati alla lettura, all'esortazione e all'insegnamento. 14 Non trascurare il dono spirituale che è in te e che ti è stato conferito, per indicazioni di profeti, con l'imposizione delle mani da parte del collegio dei presbiteri. 15 Abbi premura di queste cose, dèdicati ad esse interamente perché tutti vedano il tuo progresso. 16 Vigila su te stesso e sul tuo insegnamento e sii perseverante: così facendo salverai te stesso e coloro che ti ascoltano.
