¹⁵耶穌回答：“新郎跟賓客在一起的時候，賓客怎能哀痛呢？但到了時候，新郎就要從他們中間被取去，那時他們就要禁食了。 ¹⁶沒有人會拿一塊新布補在舊衣服上，因為補上的會把衣服扯破，裂的地方就更大了。 ¹⁷也沒有人會把新酒裝在舊皮袋裡，如果這樣，皮袋就會脹破，酒就漏出來，皮袋也損壞了。人總是把新酒裝在新皮袋裡，這樣，兩樣都可以保全。”

¹⁵Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them?^(A) The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.^(B)

¹⁶“No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. ¹⁷Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

¹⁶No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

¹⁷Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
