27 到了早上，所有的祭司长和民间的长老商议怎样对付耶稣，好杀掉他。 2 他们把他绑起来，押去交给总督彼拉多。
犹大的结局（参(B)
3 那时，出卖耶稣的犹大见耶稣定了罪，就后悔了。他把那三十块银子还给祭司长和长老，说： 4 “我有罪了！我出卖了无辜的人（“人”原文作“血”）！”他们说：“这是你的事，跟我们有甚么关系？” 5 犹大把银子丢进圣所，然后离开，出去吊死了。 6 祭司长把银子拾起来，说：“这是血钱，不可放在殿库里。” 7 他们商议之后，就用那些钱买了“陶匠的田”，用来作外国人的坟地。 8 所以那田称为“血田”，直到今日。 9 这应验了耶利米先知所说的：“他们拿了三十块银子，就是以色列人给他估定的价钱， 10 用它买了‘陶匠的田’，正如主所指示我的。”
彼拉多判耶稣钉十字架(C)
11 耶稣站在总督面前，总督问他：“你是犹太人的王吗？”耶稣回答：“这是你说的。” 12 祭司长和长老控告他的时候，他却不回答。 13 彼拉多又问他：“他们作证指控你这么多的事，你没有听见吗？” 14 耶稣一句话也不回答他，令总督非常惊奇。
15 每逢这节期，总督有一个惯例，就是给群众释放一个他们要求释放的囚犯。 16 那时，有个声名狼藉的囚犯，名叫耶数．巴拉巴。 17 群众聚集的时候，彼拉多问他们：“你们要我给你们释放谁？耶数．巴拉巴或是称为基督的耶稣呢？” 18 他知道他们是因为嫉妒才把耶稣交了来。 19 彼拉多坐在审判台上的时候，他的夫人派人来说：“你不要干涉这个义人的事，因为昨夜我在梦中因他受了很多的苦。” 20 祭司长和长老怂恿群众，叫他们去要求释放巴拉巴，除掉耶稣。 21 总督问他们：“这两个人，你们要我给你们释放哪一个？”他们说：“巴拉巴！” 22 彼拉多对他们说：“那么，我怎样处置那称为基督的耶稣呢？”他们齐声说：“把他钉十字架！” 23 彼拉多说：“为甚么呢？他作了甚么恶事呢？”众人更加大声喊叫：“把他钉十字架！” 24 彼拉多见无济于事，反会引起骚动，就拿水在群众面前洗手，说：“流这人的血，与我无关，你们自己负责吧。” 25 群众回答：“流他的血的责任，归在我们和我们子孙的身上吧。” 26 于是彼拉多给他们释放了巴拉巴；他把耶稣鞭打了，就交给他们钉十字架。

27 总督的士兵把耶稣带到总督府，召集全队士兵到他面前。 28 他们脱去他的衣服，给他披上朱红色的外袍， 29 又用荆棘编成冠冕，戴在他的头上，把一根芦苇放在他的右手，跪在他面前讥笑他说：“犹太人的王万岁！” 30 然后向他吐唾沫，又拿起芦苇打他的头。 31 戏弄完了，就脱下他的外袍，给他穿回自己的衣服，带去钉十字架。

45 从正午到下午三点钟，遍地都黑暗了。 46 大约三点钟，耶稣大声呼叫：“以利，以利，拉马撒巴各大尼？”意思是“我的 神，我的 神，你为甚么离弃我？” 47 有几个站在那里的人，听见了就说：“这个人在呼叫以利亚呢。” 48 有一个人马上跑去拿海绵蘸满了酸酒，用芦苇递给他喝。 49 但其他的人说：“等一等，我们看看以利亚来不来救他。” 50 耶稣再大声呼叫，气就断了。 51 忽然，圣所里的幔子从上到下裂成两半；地面震动，石头崩裂； 52 而且坟墓开了，许多睡了的圣徒的身体也复活了， 53 从坟墓里出来；到了耶稣复活之后，他们进到圣城向许多人显现。 54 百夫长和跟他一起看守耶稣的士兵，看见了地震和所发生的事情，就十分惧怕，说：“这个人真是 神的儿子。” 55 有许多妇女在那里远远地观看；她们是从加利利开始跟随耶稣服事他的。 56 她们中间有抹大拉的马利亚、雅各和约西的母亲马利亚，以及西庇太的儿子的母亲。
耶稣葬在新坟墓里(G)
57 到了晚上，有一个亚利马太的富翁来到，他名叫约瑟，是耶稣的门徒。 58 这个人去见彼拉多，请求领取耶稣的身体，彼拉多就吩咐给他。 59 约瑟领了耶稣的身体，用干净的细麻布裹好， 60 放在自己的新坟墓里，就是在盘石里凿出来的。他辊了一块大石头来挡住墓门，然后才离开。 61 抹大拉的马利亚和另一个马利亚都在那里，对着坟墓坐着。

62 第二天，就是过了“预备日”的那一天，祭司长和法利赛人去见彼拉多，说： 63 “大人，我们想起那个骗子，生前说过：‘三天之后，我要复活。’ 64 所以请你下令把坟墓严密看守，直到第三天，免得他的门徒来把他偷去，然后对民众说：‘他从死人中复活了。’这样，日后的骗局比起初的就更大了。” 65 彼拉多对他们说：“你们带着卫兵，尽你们所能的去严密看守吧。” 66 他们就去把墓前的石封好，又派卫兵把守，严密地守住坟墓。

27 अलख सुबह सभी प्रमुख याजकों और यहूदी बुज़ुर्ग नेताओं ने यीशु को मरवा डालने के लिए षड्यन्त्र रचा। 2 फिर वे उसे बाँध कर ले गये और राज्यपाल पिलातुस को सौंप दिया।
यहूदा की आत्महत्या
(प्रेरितों के काम 1:18-19)
3 यीशु को पकड़वाने वाले यहूदा ने जब देखा कि यीशु को दोषी ठहराया गया है, तो वह बहुत पछताया और उसने प्रमुख याजकों और बुज़ुर्ग यहूदी नेताओं को चाँदी के वे तीस सिक्के लौटा दिये। 4 उसने कहा, “मैंने एक निरपराध व्यक्ति को मार डालने के लिए पकड़वा कर पाप किया है।”
इस पर उन लोगों ने कहा, “हमें क्या! यह तेरा अपना मामला है।”
5 इस पर यहूदा चाँदी के उन सिक्कों को मन्दिर के भीतर फेंक कर चला गया और फिर बाहर जाकर अपने को फाँसी लगा दी।
6 प्रमुख याजकों ने वे सिक्के उठा लिए और कहा, “हमारे नियम के अनुसार इस धन को मन्दिर के कोष में रखना उचित नहीं है क्योंकि इसका इस्तेमाल किसी को मरवाने कि लिए किया गया था।” 7 इसलिए उन्होंने उस पैसे से कुम्हार का खेत खरीदने का निर्णय किया ताकि बाहर से यरूशलेम आने वाले लोगों को मरने के बाद उसमें दफनाया जाये। 8 इसीलिये आज तक वह खेत लहू का खेत के नाम से जाना जाता है। 9 इस प्रकार परमेश्वर का, भविष्यवक्ता यिर्मयाह के द्वारा कहा गया यह वचन पूरा हुआ:
“उन्होंने चाँदी के तीस सिक्के लिए, वह रकम जिसे इस्राएल के लोगों ने उसके लिये देना तय किया था। 10 और प्रभु द्वारा मुझे दिये गये आदेश के अनुसार उससे कुम्हार का खेत खरीदा।”[a]
पिलातुस का यीशु से प्रश्न

11 इसी बीच यीशु राज्यपाल के सामने पेश हुआ। राज्यपाल ने उससे पूछा, “क्या तू यहूदियों का राजा है?”

12 दूसरी तरफ जब प्रमुख याजक और बुज़ुर्ग यहूदी नेता उस पर दोष लगा रहे थे तो उसने कोई उत्तर नहीं दिया।
13 तब पिलातुस ने उससे पूछा, “क्या तू नहीं सुन रहा है कि वे तुझ पर कितने आरोप लगा रहे हैं?”
14 किन्तु यीशु ने पिलातुस को किसी भी आरोप का कोई उत्तर नहीं दिया। पिलातुस को इस पर बहुत अचरज हुआ।
यीशु को छोड़ने में पिलातुस असफल

19 पिलातुस जब न्याय के आसन पर बैठा था तो उसकी पत्नी ने उसके पास एक संदेश भेजा, “उस सीधे सच्चे मनुष्य के साथ कुछ मत कर बैठना। मैंने उसके बारे में एक सपना देखा है जिससे आज सारे दिन मैं बेचैन रही।”
20 किन्तु प्रमुख याजकों और बुज़ुर्ग यहूदी नेताओं ने भीड़ को बहकाया, फुसलाया कि वह पिलातुस से बरअब्बा को छोड़ने की और यीशु को मरवा डालने की माँग करें।
21 उत्तर में राज्यपाल ने उनसे पूछा, “मुझ से दोनों कैदियों में से तुम अपने लिये किसे छुड़वाना चाहते हो?”
उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, “बरअब्बा को!”
22 तब पिलातुस ने उनसे पूछा, “तो मैं, जो मसीह कहलाता है उस यीशु का क्या करूँ?”
वे सब बोले, “उसे क्रूस पर चढ़ा दो।”
23 पिलातुस ने पूछा, “क्यों, उसने क्या अपराध किया है?”
किन्तु वे तो और अधिक चिल्लाये, “उसे क्रूस पर चढ़ा दो।”
24 पिलातुस ने देखा कि अब कोई लाभ नहीं। बल्कि दंगा भड़कने को है। सो उसने थोड़ा पानी लिया और भीड़ के सामने अपने हाथ धोये, वह बोला, “इस व्यक्ति के खून से मेरा कोई सरोकार नहीं है। यह तुम्हारा मामला है।”
25 उत्तर में सब लोगों ने कहा, “इसकी मौत की जवाबदेही हम और हमारे बच्चे स्वीकार करते हैं।”
26 तब पिलातुस ने उनके लिए बरअब्बा को छोड़ दिया और यीशु को कोड़े लगवा कर क्रूस पर चढ़ाने के लिए सौंप दिया।
यीशु का उपहास

27 फिर पिलातुस के सिपाही यीशु को राज्यपाल निवास के भीतर ले गये। वहाँ उसके चारों तरफ सिपाहियों की पूरी पलटन इकट्ठी हो गयी। 28 उन्होंने उसके कपड़े उतार दिये और चमकीले लाल रंग के वस्त्र पहना कर 29 काँटों से बना एक ताज उसके सिर पर रख दिया। उसके दाहिने हाथ में एक सरकंडा थमा दिया और उसके सामने अपने घुटनों पर झुक कर उसकी हँसी उड़ाते हुए बोले, “यहूदियों का राजा अमर रहे।” 30 फिर उन्होंने उसके मुँह पर थूका, छड़ी छीन ली और उसके सिर पर मारने लगे। 31 जब वे उसकी हँसी उड़ा चुके तो उसकी पोशाक उतार ली और उसे उसके अपने कपड़े पहना कर क्रूस पर चढ़ाने के लिये ले चले।
यीशु का क्रूस पर चढ़ाया जाना

32 जब वे बाहर जा ही रहे थे तो उन्हें कुरैन का रहने वाला शिमौन नाम का एक व्यक्ति मिला। उन्होंने उस पर दबाव डाला कि वह यीशु का क्रूस उठा कर चले। 33 फिर जब वे गुलगुता (जिसका अर्थ है “खोपड़ी का स्थान।”) नामक स्थान पर पहुँचे तो 34 उन्होंने यीशु को पित्त मिली दाखरस पीने को दी। किन्तु जब यीशु ने उसे चखा तो पीने से मना कर दिया।
35 सो उन्होंने उसे क्रूस पर चढ़ा दिया और उसके वस्त्र पासा फेंक कर आपस में बाँट लिये। 36 इसके बाद वे वहाँ बैठ कर उस पर पहरा देने लगे। 37 उन्होंने उसका अभियोग पत्र लिखकर उसके सिर पर टाँग दिया, “यह यहूदियों का राजा यीशु है।”
38 इसी समय उसके साथ दो डाकू भी क्रूस पर चढ़ाये जा रहे थे एक उसके दाहिने ओर और दूसरा बायीं ओर। 39 पास से जाते हुए लोग अपना सिर मटकाते हुए उसका अपमान कर रहे थे। 40 वे कह रहे थे, “अरे मन्दिर को गिरा कर तीन दिन में उसे फिर से बनाने वाले, अपने को तो बचा। यदि तू परमेश्वर का पुत्र है तो क्रूस से नीचे उतर आ।”
41 ऐसे ही महायाजक, धर्मशास्त्रियों और बुज़ुर्ग यहूदी नेताओं के साथ उसकी यह कहकर हँसी उड़ा रहे थे: 42 “दूसरों का उद्धार करने वाला यह अपना उद्धार नहीं कर सकता! यह इस्राएल का राजा है। यह क्रूस से अभी नीचे उतरे तो हम इसे मान लें। 43 यह परमेश्वर में विश्वास करता है। सो यदि परमेश्वर चाहे तो अब इसे बचा ले। आखिर यह तो कहता भी था, ‘मैं परमेश्वर का पुत्र हूँ।’” 44 उन लुटेरों ने भी जो उसके साथ क्रूस पर चढ़ाये गये थे, उसकी ऐसे ही हँसी उड़ाई।
यीशु की मृत्यु

45 फिर समूची धरती पर दोपहर से तीन बजे तक अन्धेरा छाया रहा। 46 कोई तीन बजे के आस-पास यीशु ने ऊँचे स्वर में पुकारा “एली, एली, लमा शबक्तनी।” अर्थात्, “मेरे परमेश्वर, मेरे परमेश्वर, तूने मुझे क्यों छोड़ दिया?”
47 वहाँ खड़े लोगों में से कुछ यह सुनकर कहने लगे यह एलिय्याह को पुकार रहा है।(A)
48 फिर तुरंत उनमें से एक व्यक्ति दौड़ कर सिरके में डुबोया हुआ स्पंज एक छड़ी पर टाँग कर लाया और उसे यीशु को चूसने के लिए दिया। 49 किन्तु दूसरे लोग कहते रहे कि छोड़ो देखते हैं कि एलिय्याह इसे बचाने आता है या नहीं?
50 यीशु ने फिर एक बार ऊँचे स्वर में पुकार कर प्राण त्याग दिये।
51 उसी समय मन्दिर का परदा ऊपर से नीचे तक फट कर दो टुकड़े हो गया। धरती काँप उठी। चट्टानें फट पड़ीं। 52 यहाँ तक कि कब्रें खुल गयीं और परमेश्वर के मरे हुए बंदों के बहुत से शरीर जी उठे। 53 वे कब्रों से निकल आये और यीशु के जी उठने के बाद पवित्र नगर में जाकर बहुतों को दिखाई दिये।
54 रोमी सेना नायक और यीशु पर पहरा दे रहे लोग भूचाल और वैसी ही दूसरी घटनाओं को देख कर डर गये थे। वे बोले, “यीशु वास्तव में परमेश्वर का पुत्र था।”
55 वहाँ बहुत सी स्त्रियाँ खड़ी थीं। जो दूर से देख रही थीं। वे यीशु की देखभाल के लिए गलील से उसके पीछे आ रही थीं। 56 उनमें मरियम मगदलीनी, याकूब और योसेस की माता मरियम तथा जब्दी के बेटों की माता थीं।
यीशु का दफ़न
(मरकुस 15:42-47; लूका 23:50-56; यूहन्ना 19:38-42)
57 साँझ के समय अरिमतियाह नगर से यूसुफ़ नाम का एक धनवान आया। वह खुद भी यीशु का अनुयायी हो गया था। 58 यूसुफ पिलातुस के पास गया और उससे यीशु का शव माँगा। तब पिलातुस ने आज्ञा दी कि शव उसे दे दिया जाये। 59 यूसुफ ने शव ले लिया और उसे एक नयी चादर में लपेट कर 60 अपनी निजी नयी कब्र में रख दिया जिसे उसने चट्टान में काट कर बनवाया था। फिर उसने चट्टान के दरवाज़े पर एक बड़ा सा पत्थर लुढ़काया और चला गया। 61 मरियम मगदलीनी और दूसरी स्त्री मरियम वहाँ कब्र के सामने बैठी थीं।
यीशु की कब्र पर पहरा
62 अगले दिन जब शुक्रवार बीत गया तो प्रमुख याजक और फ़रीसी पिलातुस से मिले। 63 उन्होंने कहा, “महोदय हमें याद है कि उस छली ने, जब वह जीवित था, कहा था कि तीसरे दिन मैं फिर जी उठूँगा। 64 तो आज्ञा दीजिये कि तीसरे दिन तक कब्र पर चौकसी रखी जाये। जिससे ऐसा न हो कि उसके शिष्य आकर उसका शव चुरा ले जायें और लोगों से कहें वह मरे हुओं में से जी उठा। यह दूसरा छलावा पहले छलावे से भी बुरा होगा।”
65 पिलातुस ने उनसे कहा, “तुम पहरे के लिये सिपाही ले सकते हो। जाओ जैसी चौकसी कर सकते हो, करो।” 66 तब वे चले गये और उस पत्थर पर मुहर लगा कर और पहरेदारों को वहाँ बैठा कर कब्र को सुरक्षित कर दिया।

Judas Hangs Himself
27 Very early in the morning the leading priests and the elders of the people met again to lay plans for putting Jesus to death. 2 Then they bound him, led him away, and took him to Pilate, the Roman governor.
3 When Judas, who had betrayed him, realized that Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. So he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders. 4 “I have sinned,” he declared, “for I have betrayed an innocent man.”
“What do we care?” they retorted. “That’s your problem.”
5 Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went out and hanged himself.
6 The leading priests picked up the coins. “It wouldn’t be right to put this money in the Temple treasury,” they said, “since it was payment for murder.”[a] 7 After some discussion they finally decided to buy the potter’s field, and they made it into a cemetery for foreigners. 8 That is why the field is still called the Field of Blood. 9 This fulfilled the prophecy of Jeremiah that says,
“They took[b] the thirty pieces of silver—
the price at which he was valued by the people of Israel,
10 and purchased the potter’s field,
as the Lord directed.[c]”
Jesus’ Trial before Pilate
11 Now Jesus was standing before Pilate, the Roman governor. “Are you the king of the Jews?” the governor asked him.
Jesus replied, “You have said it.”
12 But when the leading priests and the elders made their accusations against him, Jesus remained silent. 13 “Don’t you hear all these charges they are bringing against you?” Pilate demanded. 14 But Jesus made no response to any of the charges, much to the governor’s surprise.
15 Now it was the governor’s custom each year during the Passover celebration to release one prisoner to the crowd—anyone they wanted. 16 This year there was a notorious prisoner, a man named Barabbas.[d] 17 As the crowds gathered before Pilate’s house that morning, he asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you—Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” 18 (He knew very well that the religious leaders had arrested Jesus out of envy.)
19 Just then, as Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Leave that innocent man alone. I suffered through a terrible nightmare about him last night.”
20 Meanwhile, the leading priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas to be released and for Jesus to be put to death. 21 So the governor asked again, “Which of these two do you want me to release to you?”
The crowd shouted back, “Barabbas!”
22 Pilate responded, “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Messiah?”
They shouted back, “Crucify him!”
23 “Why?” Pilate demanded. “What crime has he committed?”
But the mob roared even louder, “Crucify him!”
24 Pilate saw that he wasn’t getting anywhere and that a riot was developing. So he sent for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. The responsibility is yours!”
25 And all the people yelled back, “We will take responsibility for his death—we and our children!”[e]
26 So Pilate released Barabbas to them. He ordered Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip, then turned him over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified.
The Soldiers Mock Jesus
27 Some of the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into their headquarters[f] and called out the entire regiment. 28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. 29 They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!” 30 And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and struck him on the head with it. 31 When they were finally tired of mocking him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be crucified.
The Crucifixion
32 Along the way, they came across a man named Simon, who was from Cyrene,[g] and the soldiers forced him to carry Jesus’ cross. 33 And they went out to a place called Golgotha (which means “Place of the Skull”). 34 The soldiers gave Jesus wine mixed with bitter gall, but when he had tasted it, he refused to drink it.
35 After they had nailed him to the cross, the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.[h] 36 Then they sat around and kept guard as he hung there. 37 A sign was fastened above Jesus’ head, announcing the charge against him. It read: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.” 38 Two revolutionaries[i] were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.
39 The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery. 40 “Look at you now!” they yelled at him. “You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross!”
41 The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders also mocked Jesus. 42 “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him! 43 He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him! For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” 44 Even the revolutionaries who were crucified with him ridiculed him in the same way.
The Death of Jesus
45 At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. 46 At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli,[j] lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”[k]
47 Some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet Elijah. 48 One of them ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, holding it up to him on a reed stick so he could drink. 49 But the rest said, “Wait! Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.”[l]
50 Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. 51 At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, 52 and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead. 53 They left the cemetery after Jesus’ resurrection, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people.
54 The Roman officer[m] and the other soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by the earthquake and all that had happened. They said, “This man truly was the Son of God!”
55 And many women who had come from Galilee with Jesus to care for him were watching from a distance. 56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary (the mother of James and Joseph), and the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee.
The Burial of Jesus
57 As evening approached, Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea who had become a follower of Jesus, 58 went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. And Pilate issued an order to release it to him. 59 Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth. 60 He placed it in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance and left. 61 Both Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting across from the tomb and watching.
The Guard at the Tomb
62 The next day, on the Sabbath,[n] the leading priests and Pharisees went to see Pilate. 63 They told him, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver once said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise from the dead.’ 64 So we request that you seal the tomb until the third day. This will prevent his disciples from coming and stealing his body and then telling everyone he was raised from the dead! If that happens, we’ll be worse off than we were at first.”
65 Pilate replied, “Take guards and secure it the best you can.” 66 So they sealed the tomb and posted guards to protect it.
