2 Nasusulat (A) sa aklat ni propeta Isaias,
“Narito, ang aking sugo ay ipinadadala ko sa iyong unahan.[a]
Siya ang maghahanda ng iyong daraanan.
3 Isang (B) tinig ang sumisigaw sa ilang:
‘Ihanda ninyo ang daan ng Panginoon,
Tuwirin ninyo ang mga landas na kanyang lalakaran.’ ”
4 Dumating sa ilang si Juan na nagbabautismo at nangangaral tungkol sa bautismo ng pagsisisi tungo sa pagpapatawad ng mga kasalanan.
