治好癱子

幾天後,耶穌回到迦百農。祂在家的消息一傳開, 立刻有許多人蜂擁而來,連門外也擠滿了人。耶穌正給他們講道的時候, 有四個人抬著一個癱瘓的人來見祂。 但因為人太多,他們無法抬到耶穌跟前,就拆掉屋頂,對準耶穌所坐的地方,將癱子連墊子一起縋下去。 耶穌看見他們的信心,就對癱子說:「孩子,你的罪被赦免了!」 有幾個律法教師坐在那裡,心裡議論說: 「這是什麼話?簡直是褻瀆上帝!除了上帝之外,誰能赦罪呢?」

耶穌立刻看透了他們的心思,就說:「你們為什麼這樣心裡議論呢? 對癱子說『你的罪得到赦免了』容易呢,還是說『起來,收拾你的墊子走吧』容易呢? 10 但我要讓你們知道人子在世上有赦罪的權柄。」於是祂對癱子說: 11 「我吩咐你起來收拾你的墊子回家去吧。」 12 那人就站起來,馬上收拾好墊子,當著眾人的面走了出去。眾人都十分驚奇,讚美上帝說:「我們從來沒見過這樣的事!」

呼召利未

13 耶穌又出去到了湖邊。有一大群人圍攏過來,祂就教導他們。 14 耶穌往前走的時候,看見亞勒腓的兒子利未坐在收稅站裡工作,就對他說:「跟從我!」利未就起來跟從了耶穌。

15 後來,利未請耶穌和祂的門徒到家裡坐席,同席的還有很多已經跟隨耶穌的稅吏和罪人。 16 有幾位法利賽人的律法教師看見耶穌跟稅吏和罪人同席,就問耶穌的門徒:「祂怎麼會跟這些稅吏和罪人一起吃飯呢?」

17 耶穌聽見了,就說:「健康的人不需要醫生,有病的人才需要。我來不是要召義人,乃是要召罪人。」

論禁食

18 約翰的門徒和法利賽人都在禁食的時候,有人來問耶穌:「約翰的門徒和法利賽人的門徒禁食,為什麼你的門徒不禁食呢?」

19 耶穌對他們說:「新郎還在的時候,賓客怎能在婚宴中禁食呢?新郎還跟他們在一起的時候,他們不該禁食。 20 但有一天新郎將被帶走,那時他們就要禁食了。

21 「沒有人會用新布來補舊衣服,因為新布會把舊衣服扯破,破洞會更大; 22 也沒有人把新酒倒進舊皮囊裡,否則新酒會漲破舊皮囊,酒和皮囊都毀了。所以,新酒一定要裝在新皮囊裡。」

安息日的主

23 一個安息日,耶穌和門徒走過一片麥田,門徒一邊走一邊搓麥穗吃。 24 法利賽人批評耶穌說:「看看你的門徒,他們為什麼做安息日不准做的事?」

25 耶穌回答說:「大衛和他的部下在饑餓、缺糧時所做的事,你們沒有讀過嗎? 26 在亞比亞他做大祭司時,他進入上帝的殿吃了獻給上帝的供餅,還給他的部下吃。這餅只有祭司才可以吃。 27 安息日是為人設立的,人不是為安息日設立的。 28 所以,人子也是安息日的主。」

And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? 10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) 11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. 12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. 14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphæus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him. 15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? 19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. 21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. 22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. 24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Ac yn ebrwydd, pan wybu’r Iesu yn ei ysbryd eu bod hwy yn ymresymu felly ynddynt eu hunain, efe a ddywedodd wrthynt, Paham yr ydych yn ymresymu am y pethau hyn yn eich calonnau? Pa un sydd hawsaf, ai dywedyd wrth y claf o’r parlys, Maddeuwyd i ti dy bechodau; ai dywedyd, Cyfod, a chymer i fyny dy wely, a rhodia? 10 Eithr fel y gwypoch fod gan Fab y dyn awdurdod i faddau pechodau ar y ddaear, (eb efe wrth y claf o’r parlys,) 11 Wrthyt ti yr wyf yn dywedyd, Cyfod, a chymer i fyny dy wely, a dos i’th dŷ. 12 Ac yn y man y cyfododd efe, ac y cymerth i fyny ei wely, ac a aeth allan yn eu gŵydd hwynt oll; hyd oni synnodd pawb, a gogoneddu Duw, gan ddywedyd, Ni welsom ni erioed fel hyn. 13 Ac efe a aeth allan drachefn wrth lan y môr: a’r holl dyrfa a ddaeth ato; ac efe a’u dysgodd hwynt.

14 Ac efe yn myned heibio, efe a ganfu Lefi fab Alffeus yn eistedd wrth y dollfa, ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Canlyn fi. Ac efe a gododd, ac a’i canlynodd ef. 15 A bu, a’r Iesu yn eistedd i fwyta yn ei dŷ ef, i lawer hefyd o bublicanod a phechaduriaid eistedd gyda’r Iesu a’i ddisgyblion; canys llawer oeddynt, a hwy a’i canlynasent ef. 16 A phan welodd yr ysgrifenyddion a’r Phariseaid ef yn bwyta gyda’r publicanod a’r pechaduriaid, hwy a ddywedasant wrth ei ddisgyblion ef, Paham y mae efe yn bwyta ac yn yfed gyda’r publicanod a’r pechaduriaid? 17 A’r Iesu, pan glybu, a ddywedodd wrthynt, Y rhai sydd iach nid rhaid iddynt wrth y meddyg, ond y rhai cleifion: ni ddeuthum i alw y rhai cyfiawn, ond pechaduriaid, i edifeirwch.

18 A disgyblion Ioan a’r Phariseaid oeddynt yn ymprydio. A hwy a ddaethant ac a ddywedasant wrtho, Paham y mae disgyblion Ioan a’r Phariseaid yn ymprydio, ond dy ddisgyblion di nid ydynt yn ymprydio? 19 A dywedodd yr Iesu wrthynt, A all plant yr ystafell briodas ymprydio, tra fyddo’r priodasfab gyda hwynt? tra fyddo ganddynt y priodasfab gyda hwynt, ni allant ymprydio. 20 Eithr y dyddiau a ddaw, pan ddyger y priodasfab oddi arnynt; ac yna yr ymprydiant yn y dyddiau hynny. 21 Hefyd ni wnïa neb ddernyn o frethyn newydd ar ddilledyn hen: os amgen, ei gyflawniad newydd ef a dynn oddi wrth yr hen, a gwaeth fydd y rhwyg. 22 Ac ni rydd neb win newydd mewn hen gostrelau: os amgen, y gwin newydd a ddryllia’r costrelau, a’r gwin a red allan, a’r costrelau a gollir: eithr gwin newydd sydd raid ei roi mewn costrelau newyddion.

23 A bu iddo fyned trwy’r ŷd ar y Saboth; a’i ddisgyblion a ddechreuasant ymdaith gan dynnu’r tywys. 24 A’r Phariseaid a ddywedasant wrtho, Wele, paham y gwnânt ar y Saboth yr hyn nid yw gyfreithlon? 25 Ac efe a ddywedodd wrthynt, Oni ddarllenasoch erioed beth a wnaeth Dafydd, pan oedd angen a chwant bwyd arno, efe a’r rhai oedd gydag ef? 26 Pa fodd yr aeth efe i dŷ Dduw, dan Abiathar yr archoffeiriad, ac y bwytaodd y bara gosod, y rhai nid cyfreithlon eu bwyta, ond i’r offeiriaid yn unig, ac a’u rhoddes hefyd i’r rhai oedd gydag ef 27 Ac efe a ddywedodd wrthynt, Y Saboth a wnaethpwyd er mwyn dyn, ac nid dyn er mwyn y Saboth: 28 Am hynny y mae Mab y dyn yn Arglwydd hefyd ar y Saboth.

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man(A)

A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. They gathered in such large numbers(B) that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man,(C) carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”(D)

Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”(E)

Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man(F) has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God,(G) saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”(H)

Jesus Calls Levi and Eats With Sinners(I)

13 Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him,(J) and he began to teach them. 14 As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,”(K) Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.

15 While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees(L) saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”(M)

17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”(N)

Jesus Questioned About Fasting(O)

18 Now John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting.(P) Some people came and asked Jesus, “How is it that John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees are fasting, but yours are not?”

19 Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them. 20 But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them,(Q) and on that day they will fast.

21 “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. Otherwise, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. 22 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.”

Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath(R)(S)

23 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain.(T) 24 The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”(U)

25 He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? 26 In the days of Abiathar the high priest,(V) he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat.(W) And he also gave some to his companions.”(X)

27 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man,(Y) not man for the Sabbath.(Z) 28 So the Son of Man(AA) is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

Curación de un paralítico (Mt 9,1-8; Lc 5,17-26)

Algunos días después, Jesús regresó a Cafarnaún. En cuanto se supo que estaba en casa, se reunió tanta gente, que no quedaba sitio ni siquiera ante la puerta. Y Jesús les anunciaba su mensaje. Le trajeron entonces, entre cuatro, un paralítico. Como a causa de la multitud no podían llegar hasta Jesús, levantaron un trozo del techo por encima de donde él estaba y, a través de la abertura, bajaron la camilla con el paralítico. Jesús, viendo la fe de quienes lo llevaban, dijo al paralítico:

— Hijo, tus pecados quedan perdonados.

Estaban allí sentados unos maestros de la ley, que pensaban para sí mismos: “¿Cómo habla así este? ¡Está blasfemando! ¡Solamente Dios puede perdonar pecados!”. Jesús, que al instante se dio cuenta de lo que estaban pensando en su interior, les preguntó:

— ¿Por qué están pensando eso? ¿Qué es más fácil? ¿Decir al paralítico: “Tus pecados quedan perdonados”, o decirle: “Levántate, recoge tu camilla y anda”? 10 Pues voy a demostrarles que el Hijo del hombre tiene autoridad para perdonar pecados en este mundo.

Se volvió al paralítico y le dijo:

11 — A ti te hablo: Levántate, recoge tu camilla y vete a tu casa.

12 Y él se levantó, recogió al punto su camilla y se fue en presencia de todos. Todos los presentes quedaron asombrados y alabaron a Dios diciendo:

— Nunca habíamos visto cosa semejante.

Jesús llama a Leví (Mt 9,9-13; Lc 5,27-32)

13 Jesús volvió a la orilla del lago, y toda la gente acudía a él para recibir sus enseñanzas. 14 Al pasar, vio a Leví, el hijo de Alfeo, que estaba sentado en su despacho de recaudación de impuestos, y le dijo:

— Sígueme.

Leví se levantó y lo siguió. 15 Más tarde, estando Jesús sentado a la mesa en casa de Leví, muchos recaudadores de impuestos y gente de mala reputación se sentaron también con él y sus discípulos, porque eran muchos los que seguían a Jesús. 16 Pero algunos maestros de la ley pertenecientes al partido de los fariseos, al ver que comía con recaudadores de impuestos y gente de mala reputación, preguntaron a los discípulos:

— ¿Por qué se sienta a comer con esa clase de gente?

17 Jesús lo oyó y les dijo:

— No necesitan médico los que están sanos, sino los que están enfermos. Yo no he venido a llamar a los buenos, sino a los pecadores.

La cuestión del ayuno (Mt 9,14-17; Lc 5,33-39)

18 En cierta ocasión los discípulos de Juan el Bautista y los fariseos estaban guardando un ayuno, y algunos de ellos se acercaron a Jesús para preguntarle:

— ¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan y los discípulos de los fariseos ayunan y, en cambio, tus discípulos no ayunan?

19 Jesús les contestó:

— ¿Pueden acaso ayunar los invitados a una boda mientras el novio está con ellos? En tanto tengan a su lado al novio, no tienen por qué ayunar. 20 Ya llegará el momento en que les faltará el novio; entonces ayunarán.

21 Nadie remienda un vestido viejo con una pieza de tela nueva, porque la tela nueva tira de la vieja, y el roto se hace mayor. 22 Tampoco echa nadie vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque el vino nuevo rompe los odres, y se pierden al mismo tiempo los odres y el vino. A vino nuevo, odres nuevos.

Jesús y el sábado (Mt 12,1-8; Lc 6,1-5)

23 Un sábado iba Jesús paseando por entre unos sembrados. Los discípulos, según pasaban, se pusieron a arrancar espigas. 24 Los fariseos dijeron a Jesús:

— ¿No ves que están haciendo algo que no está permitido en sábado?

25 Jesús les contestó:

— ¿Nunca han leído ustedes lo que hizo David cuando él y sus compañeros se sintieron muy hambrientos? 26 Entró en la casa de Dios, siendo Abiatar sumo sacerdote, y comió de los panes de la ofrenda, algo que no estaba permitido comer a nadie, sino solamente a los sacerdotes. Y dio también a los que lo acompañaban.

27 Y Jesús añadió:

— Dios hizo el sábado por causa del ser humano, y no al ser humano por causa del sábado. 28 ¡El Hijo del hombre es Señor también del sábado!
