1 我是做上帝和主耶稣基督奴仆的雅各,问候散居各地的十二支派的人。
信心和忍耐
2 我的弟兄姊妹,当你们遭遇各种磨炼的时候,都要认为是喜乐的事。 3 要知道你们的信心经过考验会产生坚忍。 4 你们要坚忍到底,使你们纯全、完备、毫无缺欠。
5 如果你们谁缺少智慧,就当求慷慨施恩、不责备人的上帝,上帝必赐给他智慧。 6-8 但他要凭信心毫不疑惑地祈求,因为疑惑的人三心二意,行事为人没有定见,就像海上随风翻腾的波涛,这种人从主那里什么也得不到。
9 卑微的弟兄高升,应当快乐。 10 富有的弟兄降卑,也要快乐,因为他会像花草一样衰残。 11 骄阳升起,草就干枯,花也凋谢,美丽就消失了。富有的人在忙忙碌碌中也会如此衰残。
12 在试炼中能够忍耐到底的人有福了,因为他若经得起考验,就会得到主应许赐给爱祂之人的生命冠冕。 13 当人受到诱惑时,不可说:“是上帝在诱惑我。”因为上帝不受邪恶的诱惑,也不诱惑人。 14 其实每个受到诱惑的人都是受自己的私欲怂恿和诱惑。 15 私欲怀了胎,便生出罪,罪一旦长成,便带来死亡。
16 我亲爱的弟兄姊妹,不要上当受骗。 17 一切良善的施予和完美的恩赐都是从天上,从众光之父那里来的。祂不像转动的影子变幻无常。 18 祂按照自己的旨意,借着真道重生了我们,使我们在祂所造的万物之中好像初熟的果实。
听道与行道
19 我亲爱的弟兄姊妹,请记住:每个人都要快快地听,慢慢地说,慢慢地动怒。 20 因为人的愤怒不能成就上帝的公义。 21 所以你们要除去所有的污秽和一切的恶习,谦卑地领受那已经栽种在你们心里、能救你们灵魂的真道。
22 你们要行道,不要只是听道,自己欺骗自己。 23 因为人听道而不行道,就像照镜子一样, 24 看过后就走了,随即忘记了自己的容貌。 25 但详细查考那使人得自由的全备律法并且持之以恒的人,不是听了就忘,而是身体力行,这样的人必在他所行的事上蒙福。
26 如果有人自以为虔诚,却不勒住自己的舌头,就等于是自己欺骗自己,他的所谓虔诚也毫无价值。 27 在父上帝看来,纯洁无暇的虔诚是指照顾患难中的孤儿寡妇,并且不让自己被世俗玷污。
Santiago 1
Ang Pulong Sang Dios
1 Ako si Santiago nga alagad[a] sang Dios kag ni Ginoong Jesu-Cristo. Nagapangamusta ako sa inyo tanan nga anak sang Dios[b] nga naglalapta sa bug-os nga kalibutan.
Ang Pagtuo kag ang Kaalam
2 Mga utod ko kay Cristo, magkalipay kamo kon mag-abot sa inyo ang sari-sari nga mga pagtilaw. 3 Kay nahibaluan ninyo nga ang mga pagtilaw sa inyo pagtuo nagaresulta sang pagbatas. 4 Gani batasa ninyo ang tanan nga kabudlayan agod mangin hamtong kamo kag wala sing ano man nga kakulangan ang inyo nga pagkabuhi. 5 Kon may ara sa inyo nga kulang sang kaalam, magpangayo siya sa Dios, kag ang Dios magahatag sini sa iya nga wala sing hawid-hawid kag aligutgot.[c] 6 Pero kon magpangayo kamo, dapat magsalig kamo nga ihatag niya ang inyo ginapangayo kag indi kamo magpangduhaduha. Kay ang tawo nga nagapangduhaduha, pareho siya sang balod nga ginahuyop kag ginapalid sang hangin. 7-8 Ina nga tawo nga nagapangduhaduha wala sing kasiguruhan sa iya mga ginahimo. Indi siya maghunahuna nga may mabaton siya halin sa Ginoo.
Ang Imol kag ang Manggaranon
9 Ang mga utod kay Cristo nga imol dapat magkalipay sa pagpadungog sang Dios sa ila. 10 Ang mga manggaranon dapat man magkalipay sa pagpaubos sang Dios sa ila. Kay pareho sang mga bulak sang hilamon ang manggaranon magataliwan man. 11 Malaya ang hilamon samtang nagataas kag nagasingkal ang init sang adlaw. Dayon mahulog ang iya bulak kag madula ang iya katahom. Pareho man sini ang manggaranon, mapatay siya samtang masako sa iya mga buluhaton.
Ang Pagtilaw kag ang Pagsulay
12 Bulahan ang tawo nga nagabatas sang mga pagtilaw, kay sa tapos nga madaog niya ang mga pagtilaw, magabaton siya sang kabuhi nga wala sing katapusan bilang padya nga ginpromisa sang Dios sa mga nagahigugma sa iya. 13 Kon may mga pagsulay nga nagaabot sa aton, indi kita magsiling nga ginasulay kita sang Dios. Ang Dios indi masulay sa paghimo sang malain, kag wala siya nagasulay bisan kay sin-o. 14 Ang tawo ginasulay kon ginaguyod kag ginaganyat siya sang iya malain nga handom. 15 Kag kon ang iya malain nga handom matuman, ang resulta sini amo ang paghimo sang sala; kag kon magpadayon ang tawo sa pagpakasala, ang iya padulungan amo ang kamatayon.
16 Gani mga hinigugma ko nga mga utod, indi pagpatalanga ang inyo kaugalingon. 17 Kay ang tanan nga maayo kag nagakabagay gid nga aton nabaton nagahalin sa Dios. Siya amo ang naghimo sang tanan nga butang sa langit nga nagahatag kasanag diri sa kalibutan. Kag bisan ini nga mga butang nagaliwat kag nagabaylo ang ila landong, ang Dios wala gid nagabaylo. 18 Suno sa iya kabubut-on, ginhimo niya kita nga iya mga anak paagi sa aton pagkilala sang kamatuoran, agod mangin una kita sa tanan niya nga tinuga.
Ang Pagpamati kag Pagtuman
19 Mga hinigugma ko nga mga utod, tandai ninyo ini: dapat mangin handa kita sa pagpamati, indi magpadasodaso sa paghambal, kag indi magpadali-dali sa pagpangakig. 20 Kay ang kaakig sang tawo indi gid makabulig sa iya nga mangin matarong sa atubangan sang Dios. 21 Gani bayai ninyo ang tanan nga kahigkuan kag kalautan. Batuna ninyo nga may pagpaubos ang pulong sang Dios nga gintanom sa inyo mga tagipusuon, nga amo man ang makaluwas sa inyo.
22 Indi lamang kamo magpamati sa pulong sang Dios kundi dapat tumanon ninyo ini. Kay kon indi, ginadayaan lang ninyo ang inyo kaugalingon. 23 Ang bisan sin-o nga nagapamati pero wala nagatuman sang pulong sang Dios, pareho siya sang tawo nga nagatan-aw sa espiho, 24 kag pagkatapos nga makita niya ang iya hitsura, naglakat siya kag nalipatan niya dayon kon ano ang iya hitsura. 25 Pero ang tawo nga nagausisa sing maayo sa kasuguan nga wala sing sayop nga nagahilway sa mga tawo, kag indi nga nagapamati lang kag nagakalipat dayon, kundi nagapadayon gid sa pagtuman, pakamaayuhon siya sang Dios sa iya mga ginahimo.
26 Kon may tawo nga nagahunahuna nga siya relihiyuso pero indi makapugong sang iya dila, ang iya pagkarelihiyuso wala sing pulos kag ginadayaan lang niya ang iya kaugalingon. 27 Ang pagkarelihiyuso nga ginakabig sang Dios nga Amay nga matarong kag wala kasawayan amo ini: ang pagbulig sa mga ilo kag sa mga balo sa ila mga kalisod, kag ang paglikaw sa tanan nga kalautan sining kalibutan.

1 Giacomo, servo di Dio e del Signore Gesù Cristo, alle dodici tribù disperse nel mondo, salute.
Il beneficio delle prove
2 Considerate perfetta letizia, miei fratelli, quando subite ogni sorta di prove, 3 sapendo che la prova della vostra fede produce la pazienza. 4 E la pazienza completi l'opera sua in voi, perché siate perfetti e integri, senza mancare di nulla.
La domanda fiduciosa
5 Se qualcuno di voi manca di sapienza, la domandi a Dio, che dona a tutti generosamente e senza rinfacciare, e gli sarà data. 6 La domandi però con fede, senza esitare, perché chi esita somiglia all'onda del mare mossa e agitata dal vento; 7 e non pensi di ricevere qualcosa dal Signore 8 un uomo che ha l'animo oscillante e instabile in tutte le sue azioni.
La sorte del ricco
9 Il fratello di umili condizioni si rallegri della sua elevazione 10 e il ricco della sua umiliazione, perché passerà come fiore d'erba. 11 Si leva il sole col suo ardore e fa seccare l'erba e il suo fiore cade, e la bellezza del suo aspetto svanisce. Così anche il ricco appassirà nelle sue imprese.
La tentazione
12 Beato l'uomo che sopporta la tentazione, perché una volta superata la prova riceverà la corona della vita che il Signore ha promesso a quelli che lo amano.
13 Nessuno, quando è tentato, dica: «Sono tentato da Dio»; perché Dio non può essere tentato dal male e non tenta nessuno al male. 14 Ciascuno piuttosto è tentato dalla propria concupiscenza che lo attrae e lo seduce; 15 poi la concupiscenza concepisce e genera il peccato, e il peccato, quand'è consumato, produce la morte.
Ascoltare la parola e metterla in pratica
16 Non andate fuori strada, fratelli miei carissimi; 17 ogni buon regalo e ogni dono perfetto viene dall'alto e discende dal Padre della luce, nel quale non c'è variazione né ombra di cambiamento. 18 Di sua volontà egli ci ha generati con una parola di verità, perché noi fossimo come una primizia delle sue creature.
19 Lo sapete, fratelli miei carissimi: sia ognuno pronto ad ascoltare, lento a parlare, lento all'ira. 20 Perché l'ira dell'uomo non compie ciò che è giusto davanti a Dio. 21 Perciò, deposta ogni impurità e ogni resto di malizia, accogliete con docilità la parola che è stata seminata in voi e che può salvare le vostre anime. 22 Siate di quelli che mettono in pratica la parola e non soltanto ascoltatori, illudendo voi stessi. 23 Perché se uno ascolta soltanto e non mette in pratica la parola, somiglia a un uomo che osserva il proprio volto in uno specchio: 24 appena s'è osservato, se ne va, e subito dimentica com'era. 25 Chi invece fissa lo sguardo sulla legge perfetta, la legge della libertà, e le resta fedele, non come un ascoltatore smemorato ma come uno che la mette in pratica, questi troverà la sua felicità nel praticarla.
26 Se qualcuno pensa di essere religioso, ma non frena la lingua e inganna così il suo cuore, la sua religione è vana. 27 Una religione pura e senza macchia davanti a Dio nostro Padre è questa: soccorrere gli orfani e le vedove nelle loro afflizioni e conservarsi puri da questo mondo.

1 4 He entreateth of patience, 6 of faith, 10 and of lowliness of mind in rich men. 13 That tentations come not of God for our evil, 17 because he is the author of all goodness. 21 In what manner the word of life must be received.
1 James a servant of God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve Tribes, which are [b]scattered abroad, salutation.
2 [c]My brethren, [d]count it exceeding joy, [e]when ye fall into divers tentations,
3 (A)[f]Knowing that the [g]trying of your faith bringeth forth patience,
4 [h]And let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.
5 [i]If any of you lack [j]wisdom, let him ask of God, which giveth to all men liberally, and reproacheth no man, and it shall be given him.
6 (B)But let him ask in faith, and [k]waver not: [l]for he that wavereth, is like a wave of the sea, tossed of the wind, and carried away.
7 Neither let that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in [m]all his ways.
9 [n]Let the brother of [o]low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 [p]Again, he that is [q]rich, in that he is made low: [r]for as the flower of the grass, shall he (C)vanish away.
11 For as when the sun riseth with heat, then the grass withereth, and his flower falleth away, and the goodly shape of it perisheth: even so shall the rich man wither away in all his [s]ways.
12 [t](D)Blessed is the man, that endureth [u]tentation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 [v]Let no man say when he is [w]tempted, I am tempted of God: [x]for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own concupiscence, and is enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth [y]sin, and sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 [z]Err not my dear brethren.
17 Every good giving and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the [aa]Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither [ab]shadow of turning.
18 [ac]Of his own [ad]will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be as the [ae]firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Wherefore my dear brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.
20 For the wrath of man doth not accomplish the [af]righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness, and superfluity of maliciousness, and receive with [ag]meekness the word that is grafted in you, which is able to save your souls.
22 (E)[ah]And be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, [ai]deceiving your own selves.
23 [aj]For if any hear the word, and do it not, he is like unto a man, that beholdeth his [ak]natural face in a glass.
24 For when he hath considered himself, he goeth his way, and forgetteth immediately what manner of one he was.
25 But who so looketh in the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, shall be blessed in his [al]deed.
26 [am]If any man among you seem religious, and refraineth not his tongue, but deceiveth his [an]own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 [ao]Pure religion and undefiled before God, even the Father, is this, to [ap]visit the fatherless, and widows in their adversity, and to keep himself unspotted of the world.

- James 1:5 By wisdom he meaneth the knowledge of that doctrine whereof mention was made before, to wit, wherefore we are afflicted of God, and what fruit we have to reap of affliction.
- James 1:6 Why then what need other Mediator?
- James 1:6 A digression or going aside from his matter, against prayers which are conceived with a doubting mind, whereas we have a certain promise of God, and this is that second part of the Epistle.
- James 1:8 In all his thoughts and his deeds.
- James 1:9 He returneth to his purpose, repeating the proposition, which is, that we must rejoice in the cross, for it doth not press us down, but exalt us.
- James 1:9 Who is afflicted with poverty, or contempt, or with any kind of calamity.
- James 1:10 Before he concludeth, he giveth a doctrine contrary to the former: to wit, how we ought to use prosperity, which is plenty of all things: to wit, so that no man therefore please himself, but be so much the more void of pride.
