23 於是，眾人動身把耶穌押到彼拉多那裡， 2 指控祂說：「這人蠱惑民心，禁止百姓向凱撒納稅，又說自己是基督，是君王。」
3 彼拉多問耶穌：「你是猶太人的王嗎？」
耶穌回答說：「如你所言。」
4 彼拉多轉過身來，對祭司長和百姓宣佈：「我查不出這人有什麼罪。」 5 但他們堅持說：「這個人從加利利開始一直到這裡，在猶太地區四處傳道，煽動民心。」
6 彼拉多聽後，問道：「祂是加利利人嗎？」 7 他得知耶穌來自分封王希律的轄區後，便把耶穌送交希律，希律剛巧在耶路撒冷。
在希律面前受辱
8 希律見到耶穌，十分高興，因為他聽過耶穌的事，早就想見祂，希望看祂行神蹟。 9 他問了耶穌許多問題，耶穌卻一言不發。 10 祭司長和律法教師站在那裡極力地指控耶穌。
11 希律和他的衛兵嘲弄侮辱耶穌，給祂穿上華麗的袍子，把祂押回彼拉多那裡。 12 希律和彼拉多向來互相敵視，但在那一天竟化敵為友。
無辜被判死罪
13 彼拉多召來祭司長、官長和百姓， 14 對他們說：「你們帶這個人來，指控祂煽動百姓造反，我當著你們的面審問了祂，卻查不出祂有任何你們指控祂的罪。 15 希律也查不出祂有什麼罪，所以把祂送回來了。可見，這人並沒有犯什麼該死的罪。 16 因此，我要懲戒祂，然後釋放祂。」 17 每逢逾越節，總督總是按慣例給他們釋放一個囚犯。[a]
18 這時，眾人齊聲呼喊：「殺掉祂！釋放巴拉巴！」 19 巴拉巴是因在城裡叛亂殺人而被下在監裡的。
20 彼拉多想釋放耶穌，便勸解他們。 21 但他們一直喊：「把祂釘在十字架上！把祂釘在十字架上！」
22 彼拉多第三次問百姓：「為什麼？祂犯了什麼罪？我找不出該處死祂的罪證。因此，我要懲戒祂，然後釋放祂。」
23 眾人卻繼續大聲喊叫，執意要求把耶穌釘在十字架上。最後，他們的聲勢佔了上風。 24 於是，彼拉多依照他們的要求， 25 釋放了叛亂殺人的囚犯巴拉巴，並把耶穌交給他們任意處置。
釘十字架
26 他們帶耶穌出去的時候，抓住從鄉下來的古利奈人西門，讓他背著十字架跟在耶穌後面。
27 有一大群人跟在耶穌後面，其中有不少婦女為耶穌傷心痛哭。 28 耶穌轉過身來，對她們說：「耶路撒冷的女兒啊，不要為我哭，為你們自己和你們的兒女哭吧！ 29 因為日子快到了，人們將說，『不曾生育、不曾懷孕、不曾哺乳的女子有福了！』 30 到時候，人們會向大山說，『倒在我們身上吧！』又會對小山說，『遮蓋我們吧！』 31 樹木青蔥的時候，他們尚且做這些事，樹木枯乾的時候，又會怎樣呢？[b]」
32 當時有兩個罪犯和耶穌一同被押去受刑。 33 他們到了一個叫「髑髏」的地方，便把耶穌釘在十字架上，又將兩個罪犯分別釘在祂左右兩邊。
34 耶穌禱告說：「父啊，赦免他們！因為他們不知道自己在做什麼。」士兵抽籤分了耶穌的衣裳。
35 百姓站著觀看，官長嘲笑耶穌說：「祂救了別人，如果祂是上帝所選立的基督，讓祂救自己吧！」
36 士兵們也戲弄祂，拿了些酸酒上前給祂喝， 37 又說：「如果你是猶太人的王，救救自己呀！」
38 耶穌上方有一塊牌子，上面寫著：「這是猶太人的王」。
39 跟耶穌同釘十字架的一個罪犯也譏笑耶穌，說：「你不是基督嗎？救你自己和我們呀！」
40 另一個罪犯卻責備他說：「你同樣是受刑的，難道不怕上帝嗎？ 41 我們是罪有應得，但這個人沒有犯過罪。」 42 他隨即懇求耶穌：「耶穌啊，當你來執掌王權的時候，請你記得我。」
43 耶穌對他說：「我實在告訴你，今天你要和我一起在樂園裡了。」
耶穌之死
44 那時大約是正午，黑暗籠罩著整個大地，一直到下午三點， 45 太陽黯然無光。忽然掛在聖殿裡的幔子從中間裂成兩半。 46 耶穌大聲喊著說：「父啊，我將我的靈魂交在你手中。」說完，就斷氣了。
47 百夫長見此情形，便讚美上帝，說：「這人的確是個義人。」
48 圍觀的人見狀，無不捶胸頓足黯然離去。 49 耶穌熟識的人和從加利利跟著祂來的婦女們都站在遠處觀看。
耶穌的安葬
50 有一位名叫約瑟的公會議員心地善良、為人正直， 51 住在猶太地區的亞利馬太城，一直在等候上帝國的降臨。他並不苟同公會的決定。 52 他去求見彼拉多，要求領取耶穌的遺體。 53 他把耶穌的遺體從十字架上取下來，用細麻布裹好，然後安放在一個從岩壁上鑿出的新墓穴裡。 54 當天是預備日，安息日快到了。
55 和耶穌一起從加利利來的婦女跟在約瑟後面，看到了耶穌的墳墓，並且看到祂的遺體被安放好之後， 56 便回家去預備香料和膏油。安息日到了，她們按律法的規定休息了一天。

King James Version
23 And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate.
2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.
3 And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.
4 Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.
5 And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.
6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean.
7 And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.
8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.
9 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.
10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him.
11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.
12 And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.
13 And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:
15 No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.
16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
17 (For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)
18 And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:
19 (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)
20 Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.
21 But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.
22 And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.
23 And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
24 And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.
25 And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
26 And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.
27 And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.
28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.
30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.
33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, This Is The King Of The Jews.
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.
50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:
51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
Luke 23

Jesus is brought before Pilate and Herod. The women make lamentation for him. He prays for his enemies, forgives the thief upon his right hand, and dies on the cross and is buried.
23 And the whole number of them arose, and led Jesus to Pilate. 2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We have found his fellow upsetting the people, and forbidding to pay tribute to Caesar, saying that he is Christ, a king. 3 And Pilate questioned him, saying, Are you the king of the Jews? He answered him and said, It is as you say.
4 Then Pilate said to the high priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. 5 But they were all the more fierce, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout Judea, beginning at Galilee, and even to this place.
6 When Pilate heard mention of Galilee, he asked whether the man was from Galilee. 7 And as soon as he knew he was of Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also at Jerusalem in those days.
8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad. He had desired to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things about him, and trusted to see some miracle done by him. 9 Then he questioned him concerning many things, but Jesus answered him not one word. 10 The high priests and scribes stood forth and accused him vehemently. 11 And Herod with his men of war derided him and mocked him, and arrayed him in white, and sent him again to Pilate.
12 And that same day, Pilate and Herod were brought together as friends. For before, they were at variance.
13 And Pilate called together the high priests, the rulers, and the people, 14 and said to them, You have brought this man to me as one who incited uprising among the people. But I have examined him before you, and have found no fault in this man concerning those things that you accuse him of. 15 No, nor did Herod; for I sent you to him, and lo, nothing worthy of death was determined against him. 16 I will therefore chastise him and let him go. 17 (For custom constrained Pilate to release one prisoner to them at that feast.)
18 And all the people cried out at once, saying, Away with him, and release Barabbas to us! 19 (who for insurrection made in the city and for murder had been cast into prison).
20 Pilate spoke again to them, wanting to let Jesus go free. 21 But they shouted, saying, Crucify him! Crucify him!

39 And one of the evil-doers who hung there railed on him, saying, If you are the Christ, save yourself and us. 40 But the other answered and rebuked him, saying, Do you not fear God, seeing that you are under the same sentence? 41 We are rightly punished, for we receive according to our deeds, but this man has done nothing amiss. 42 And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom. 43 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, today you shall be with me in Paradise.
44 And it was about the sixth hour. And there came a darkness over all the land until the ninth hour, 45 and the sun was darkened. And the veil of the temple did tear, right through the middle. 46 And Jesus cried with a great voice and said, Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. And when he had thus spoken, he gave up the spirit.
47 When the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, Surely this was a just man. 48 And all the people who came together to that sight, beholding the things that were done, smote their breasts and returned home. 49 And all those who knew him, and the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood afar off beholding these things.
