17 耶穌教導門徒說：「引人犯罪的事是免不了的，但引人犯罪的人有禍了。 2 誰使一個卑微的弟兄失足犯罪，他的下場比把大磨石拴在他脖子上扔到海裡還要慘。 3 你們要小心謹慎！你的弟兄若犯了罪，要責備他。他若悔改，要饒恕他。 4 就算他一天得罪你七次，每次都對你說，『我悔改』，你都要饒恕他。」
5 使徒對主說：「請你加添我們的信心。」
6 主說：「如果你們的信心像一粒芥菜種那麼大，便可對這棵桑樹說，『連根拔起，栽在大海裡！』它必服從你們。
7 「你們誰會對種田或放羊回來的奴僕說，『請趕快坐下來吃飯』？ 8 不都是吩咐他『給我準備晚飯，束上腰帶伺候我用餐，等我吃完，你才可以吃』嗎？ 9 奴僕照著吩咐去做，主人會謝他嗎？ 10 同樣，你們照著吩咐把事情辦妥後，也該這樣說，『我們是無用的奴僕，所做的不過是分內的事。』」
十個痲瘋病人
11 耶穌繼續前往耶路撒冷，途經撒瑪利亞和加利利的交界處。 12 祂進入一個村莊時，十個痲瘋病人迎面而來。他們遠遠地站著， 13 高聲呼喊道：「耶穌，老師啊，求你可憐我們吧！」
14 耶穌看見他們，就說：「去讓祭司察看你們的身體。」
他們去的時候，就潔淨了。 15 其中一個發現自己痊癒了，就跑回來，高聲讚美上帝， 16 又俯伏在耶穌的腳前連連稱謝。這人是撒瑪利亞人。
17 耶穌說：「被醫好的不是有十個人嗎？其他九個呢？ 18 回來讚美稱頌上帝的只有這個外族人嗎？」 19 於是祂對那人說：「起來回去吧！你的信心救了你。」
上帝國的降臨
20 法利賽人問耶穌：「上帝的國什麼時候降臨？」
耶穌回答說：「上帝國的降臨並沒有看得見的徵兆。 21 所以沒有人能說，『上帝的國在這裡』，或說，『在那裡』，因為上帝的國就在你們心裡[a]。」
22 祂又對門徒說：「時候將到，你們將渴望見到人子降臨的日子，可是你們卻見不到。 23 有人將對你們說，『看啊，祂在這裡！』或說，『看啊，祂在那裡！』你們不要出去，也不要追隨他們。 24 因為人子降臨的時候必如劃過長空的閃電，從天這邊一直照亮到天那邊。 25 但祂必須先受苦，被這個世代棄絕。
26 「人子降臨時的情形將像挪亞的時代， 27 人們吃喝嫁娶，一直到挪亞進入方舟那天，洪水來了，毀滅了他們； 28 又像羅得的時代，人們吃喝、做買賣、耕地、蓋房。 29 在羅得離開所多瑪那天，烈火和硫磺從天而降，把他們全毀滅了。
30 「人子顯現之日的情形也是如此。 31 那天，在自己屋頂上的，不要下來收拾行李；在田裡工作的，也不要回家。 32 你們要記住羅得妻子的事。 33 想保全生命的，必喪失生命；喪失生命的，必保全生命。 34 我告訴你們，那天晚上，兩個人睡在一張床上，一個將被接去，一個將被撇下； 35 兩個女人一起推磨，一個將被接去，一個將被撇下； 36 兩個人在田間，一個將被接去，一個將被撇下。[b]」
37 門徒問：「主啊，在哪裡有這事呢？」
耶穌回答說：「屍體在哪裡，禿鷹就會聚集在哪裡。」

Sin and Forgiveness(A)
17 Jesus said to his followers, “Things will surely happen that will make people sin. But it will be very bad for anyone who makes this happen. 2 It will be very bad for anyone who makes one of these little children sin. It would be better for them to have a millstone tied around their neck and be drowned in the sea. 3 So be careful!
“If your brother or sister in God’s family does something wrong, warn them. If they are sorry for what they did, forgive them. 4 Even if they do something wrong to you seven times in one day, but they say they are sorry each time, you should forgive them.”
How Big Is Your Faith?
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Give us more faith!”
6 The Lord said, “If your faith is as big as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Dig yourself up and plant yourself in the ocean!’ And the tree will obey you.
Be Good Servants
7 “Suppose one of you has a servant who has been working in the field, plowing or caring for the sheep. When he comes in from work, what would you say to him? Would you say, ‘Come in, sit down and eat’? 8 Of course not! You would say to your servant, ‘Prepare something for me to eat. Then get ready and serve me. When I finish eating and drinking, then you can eat.’ 9 The servant should not get any special thanks for doing his job. He is only doing what his master told him to do. 10 It is the same with you. When you finish doing all that you are told to do, you should say, ‘We are not worthy of any special thanks. We have only done the work we should do.’”
Be Thankful
11 Jesus was traveling to Jerusalem. He went from Galilee to Samaria. 12 He came into a small town, and ten men met him there. They did not come close to him, because they all had leprosy. 13 But the men shouted, “Jesus! Master! Please help us!”
14 When Jesus saw the men, he said, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.”[a]
While the ten men were going to the priests, they were healed. 15 When one of them saw that he was healed, he went back to Jesus. He praised God loudly. 16 He bowed down at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. (He was a Samaritan.) 17 Jesus said, “Ten men were healed; where are the other nine? 18 This man is not even one of our people. Is he the only one who came back to give praise to God?” 19 Then Jesus said to the man, “Stand up! You can go. You were healed because you believed.”
The Coming of God’s Kingdom(B)
20 Some of the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will God’s kingdom come?”
Jesus answered, “God’s kingdom is coming, but not in a way that you can see it. 21 People will not say, ‘Look, God’s kingdom is here!’ or ‘There it is!’ No, God’s kingdom is here with you.[b]”
22 Then Jesus said to his followers, “The time will come when you will want very much to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not be able to. 23 People will say to you, ‘Look, there it is!’ or ‘Look, here it is!’ Stay where you are; don’t go away and search. 24 “When the Son of Man comes again, you will know it. On that day he will shine like lightning flashes across the sky. 25 But first, the Son of Man must suffer many things. The people of today will refuse to accept him.
26 “When the Son of Man comes again, it will be the same as it was when Noah lived. 27 People were eating, drinking, and getting married even on the day when Noah entered the boat. Then the flood came and killed them all.
28 “It will be the same as during the time of Lot, when God destroyed Sodom. Those people were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, and building houses for themselves. 29 They were doing these things even on the day when Lot left town. Then fire and sulfur rained down from the sky and killed them all. 30 This is exactly how it will be when the Son of Man comes again.
31 “On that day if a man is on his roof, he will not have time to go inside and get his things. If a man is in the field, he cannot go back home. 32 Remember what happened to Lot’s wife[c]!
33 “Whoever tries to keep the life they have will lose it. But whoever gives up their life will save it. 34 That night there may be two people sleeping in one room. One will be taken and the other will be left. 35 There may be two women working together. One will be taken and the other will be left.” 36 [d]
37 The followers asked Jesus, “Where will this be, Lord?”
Jesus answered, “It’s like looking for a dead body—you will find it where the vultures are gathering above.”

17 Now He said to His disciples, “(A)It is inevitable that [a]stumbling blocks come, but woe to one through whom they come! 2 (B)It is better for him if a millstone is hung around his neck and he [b]is thrown into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to [c]sin. 3 [d]Be on your guard! (C)If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins against you (D)seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
5 (E)The apostles said to (F)the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 But (G)the Lord said, “If you [e]had faith [f]the size of (H)a mustard seed, you could say to this (I)mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would [g]obey you.
7 “Now which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him after he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and recline at the table to eat’? 8 On the contrary, will he not say to him, ‘(J)Prepare something for me to eat, and properly [h]clothe yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and [i]afterward you [j]may eat and drink’? 9 He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he? 10 So you too, when you do all the things which were commanded you, say, ‘We are [k]unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’”
Ten Men with Leprosy Healed
11 While He was (K)on the way to Jerusalem, (L)He was passing [l]between Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as He entered a village, ten men with leprosy who (M)stood at a distance met Him; 13 and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, (N)Master, have mercy on us!” 14 When He saw them, He said to them, “(O)Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they were going, they were cleansed. 15 Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, (P)glorifying God with a loud voice, 16 and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a (Q)Samaritan. 17 But Jesus responded and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine—where are they? 18 [m]Was no one found who returned to (R)give glory to God, except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Stand up and go; (S)your faith has [n]made you well.”
Second Coming Foretold
20 Now He was questioned by the Pharisees (T)as to when the kingdom of God was coming, and He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with [o](U)signs that can be observed; 21 nor will (V)they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is [p]in your midst.”
22 And He said to the disciples, “(W)The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 (X)And they will say to you, ‘Look there,’ or, ‘Look here!’ Do not leave, and do not run after them. 24 (Y)For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part [q]of the sky, shines to the other part [r]of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. 25 (Z)But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 (AA)And just as it happened (AB)in the days of Noah, so will it also be in the days of the Son of Man: 27 people were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, and they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 [s]It was the same as happened in (AC)the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, and they were building; 29 but on the day that Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and [t]brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be [u]just the same on the day that the Son of Man (AD)is revealed. 31 On that day, the one who will be (AE)on the [v]housetop, [w]with his goods in the house, must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one in the field must not turn back. 32 (AF)Remember Lot’s wife. 33 (AG)Whoever strives to [x]save his [y]life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will keep it. 34 I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 (AH)There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left. 36 [[z](AI)Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”] 37 And responding, they *said to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “(AJ)Where the body is, there also the [aa]vultures will be gathered.”
