耶稣关于祈祷的教导

11 一次，耶稣在一个地方祷告。当他祷告结束后，他的一个门徒对他说∶“主啊，教给我们如何祈祷吧，约翰就教过他的门徒们如何祈祷。”

2 耶稣对他们说∶“你们应该这样祈祷：

‘父，愿您的名字永保神圣，
愿您的王国降临，
3 请赐给我们每天需要的食物，
4 请宽恕我们的罪过，
因为，我们也宽恕所有亏待我们的人，
请不要让我们受到诱惑。’”

请求上帝

5 接着耶稣对他们说∶“假设你们中间有某人，他的一个朋友半夜三更来到他那里，对他说∶“‘朋友，借我三块面包， 6 因为我的一个朋友旅行到我家里来，我却没有什么吃的东西来招待他。’ 7 假设那个朋友从屋里答道∶‘别打扰我了！大门都已上了锁，我的孩子和我也上了床，我不能再爬起来，给你拿东西了。’ 8 我告诉你们，虽说他不会因为他是他的朋友而起身给他拿东西，但是他会因为他的朋友无羞耻的坚持而起来，拿给他所要的东西。 9 所以，我告诉你们：不断地请求，上帝就会赐给你们；不断地寻找，你们就会发现；不停地敲门，门就会为你们打开。 10 是的，不断请求的人就会得到；不断寻找的人就会找到；不停敲门的人，门就会为他打开。 11 你们当中谁有儿子吗？如果你儿子向你要鱼，有哪位父亲反而给他一条蛇呢？ 12 或者，当他的儿子向他要鸡蛋时，却给他一只毒蝎呢？ 13 所以，既使是像你们这么邪恶的人，都知道如何把好东西给自己的孩子，那么，你们的天父肯定知道如何把圣灵赐给那些向他请求的人。”

耶稣的力量来自上帝

14 一次，耶稣正在驱逐一个哑鬼，鬼出来后，那个原来不能讲话的人便开始说话了，众人都很吃惊。 15 但是，人群中的一些人说∶“他是依仗鬼王别西卜驱鬼的！”

16 还有一些其他人想试探耶稣，让他行一个来自天堂的神迹。 17 可耶稣看出了他们的心思，于是对他们说∶“任何国家内讧，这个国家就要灭亡；自相分争的家庭，也必然破碎。 18 如果像你们所说的，撒旦与自己做对，那么，他的王国怎么能站得住呢？我这样问，是因为你们说过，我是靠别西卜来驱鬼的。 19 如果我靠别西卜驱鬼，那么，你们的子民驱鬼是依仗谁呢？所以，你们的信徒证明你们是错的。 20 可是，如果我是凭上帝的力量驱鬼，那就很清楚，上帝的王国已经降临到你们身上了。

21 “当一个身强力壮全副武装的人保卫自己的家园时，他的财产安然无恙， 22 但是，一旦有一个比他更强壮的人袭击他，把他打败了，那么，那个更强壮的人就会夺走他依赖的盔甲，与他的朋友们共同分赃。

23 “不和我同在的人就是反对我的；不与我聚拢的人便是离散。

空虚的危险

24 “当一个邪灵离开了一个人，走遍了干燥的地方，四处寻觅栖身之地，但是没有找到，于是，它说∶‘我还是回到我原来那个家吧。’ 25 于是，它回去，并发现那个房子已被打扫的又干净又整齐， 26 然后，他便出去招来七个比它自己更坏的邪灵，一同住了进去，因此，那个人现在的处境比原来更糟糕了。”

受到上帝祝福的人

27 当耶稣讲这些话时，人群中有一个女人大声对他说∶“生你养你的人是多么有福呀！”

28 耶稣却说∶“可是，那些听了上帝的教导并服从的人才真正有福呢！”

有人怀疑耶稣的权威

29 人们越聚越多了，耶稣说∶“这一代人是邪恶的一代。他们正在寻求神迹，但是，除约拿的神迹外，没有别的神迹会给他们看。 30 正如约拿 [a]对尼尼微人是一个神迹一样，人子对这一代人也将是一个神迹。 31 在审判这一代人的日子里，南国的女王 [b]将要站起来，给他们定罪，因为她来自天涯海角，来聆听所罗门的智慧，而现在有比所罗门更伟大的事情在此； 32 在审判这一代人的日子里，尼尼微人也将要站起来，给他们定罪，因为他们听了约拿的传道之后就悔改了，可是，现在有比约拿更了不起的事情在此！

做世界之光

33 “没有人点上灯后，又把它放在地窖里，或者扣在碗下面，相反，人们总是把它放在灯台上，让进来的人能够看到光亮。 34 你的眼睛是你身体的一盏明灯，如果你的眼睛是健康的，你的全身就会充满光明；如果它是坏的，你的全身就会陷入黑暗。 35 所以，要当心，不要让你里边的光变成一片黑暗。 36 如果你的全身充满了光明，没有黑暗的角落，那么就像一盏灯的光芒照亮在你的身上，使你的身体彻底地被照亮。”

耶稣批评宗教首领

37 耶稣讲完这些话后，一个法利赛人请他一同去吃饭，耶稣来到他家，坐到饭桌边。 38 那个法利赛人看见耶稣吃饭前不洗手，非常惊讶。 39 所以主对他说∶“你们法利赛人把杯盆外面都洗得干干净净，但内在却充满了贪婪和邪恶。 40 你们这些蠢人！那造外边的上帝，不也造了里边了吗？ 41 所以要重视内在的，施舍给穷人需要的东西，你们就会彻底地干净了。 42 但是，你们这些法利赛人要遭殃了，因为你们从收获的薄荷、芸香和别的草药中拿出十分之一献给上帝，但你们却忽视了正义和对上帝的爱。这些是你们应该遵守的事，同时也不能忽视其它的事。 43 你们这些法利赛人啊，就要遭殃了！因为你们喜欢在会堂里坐高位，还喜欢在集市上受人毕恭毕敬地问候； 44 你们要遭殃了，因为你们就像没有标志的坟墓，人们从上面走过，却丝毫不会察觉。”

耶稣对犹太律法师说的话

45 一个律法师回答道∶“老师，你这么说也侮辱了我们。”

46 耶稣说∶“你们这些律法师，也同样要遭殃了。你们制定了一些严厉的规矩，因为你们把难以承受的沉重负担压在别人身上，可是，你们自己却连一个手指头都不碰； 47 你们要遭殃了，因为你们为先知们建造墓穴，而正是你们的祖先杀害了那些先知， 48 这就表明，你们是赞同你们祖先的做法的。他们杀害了那些先知，还为他们建造了墓穴。 49 也正因为如此，上帝的智慧说道∶‘我将派先知和使徒到他们那里去，他们中间有些人将会遭到杀害，有些会遭到迫害。’ 50 所以，你们这代人得偿还自创世以来杀害所有先知的血债， 51 从被杀害的亚伯到在祭坛和大殿之间被杀害的撒迦利亚 [c]，所以，我告诉你们，你们这一代得偿还这一切的。

52 “你们这些律法师，要遭殃了，因为，你们拿走了开启知识的钥匙，你们自己不进去，而且还阻止那些想要进去的人。”

53 耶稣离开时，律法师和那些法利赛人都开始充满了敌意，向他提出了很多刻薄的问题， 54 他们企图设法抓住耶稣话里的把柄。

Teaching about Prayer(A)

11 Once Jesus[a] was praying in a certain place. After he had finished, one of his disciples told him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.”

2 So he told them, “Whenever you pray you are to say,

‘Father,[b] may your name be kept holy.
    May your kingdom come.[c]
3 Keep giving us every day our daily bread,[d]
4 and forgive us our sins,
as we forgive everyone who sins against us.[e]
And never bring us into temptation.’”[f]

5 Then he told them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, let me borrow three loaves of bread. 6 A friend of mine on a trip has dropped in on me, and I don’t have anything to serve him.’ 7 Suppose he answers from inside, ‘Stop bothering me! The door is already locked, and my children are here with us in the bedroom.[g] I can’t get up and give you anything!’ 8 I tell you, even though that man[h] doesn’t want to get up and give him anything because he is his friend, he will get up and give him whatever he needs because of his persistence.

Ask, Search, Knock(B)

9 So I say to you: Keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door[i] will be opened for you, 10 because everyone who keeps asking will receive, and the person who keeps searching will find, and the person who keeps knocking will have the door[j] opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for bread, would give him a stone, or if he asks for a fish,[k] would give him a snake instead of the fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, would he give him a scorpion? 13 So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who keep asking him!”

Jesus is Accused of Working with Beelzebul(C)

14 Jesus[l] was driving a demon out of a man who was[m] unable to talk. When the demon had gone out, the man[n] began to speak, and the crowds were amazed. 15 But some of them said, “He drives out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.” 16 Others, wanting to test Jesus,[o] kept asking him for a sign from heaven.

17 Since he knew what they were thinking, he told them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is devastated, and a divided household collapses.[p] 18 Now, if Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom last? After all, you say that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. 19 If I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own followers[q] drive them out? That is why they will be your judges! 20 But if I drive out demons by the power[r] of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.

21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own mansion, his property is safe. 22 But when a stronger man than he attacks and defeats him, the stronger man[s] strips off that man’s armor in which he trusted and then divides his plunder.

23 “The person who isn’t with me is against me, and the person who doesn’t gather with me scatters.”

The Return of the Unclean Spirit(D)

24 “Whenever an unclean spirit goes out of a person, it wanders through dry places looking for a place to rest but doesn’t find any. So it says, ‘I will go back to my home that I left.’ 25 When it gets back home, it finds it swept clean and put in order. 26 Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all go in and settle there. And so the final condition of that person is worse than the first.”

True Blessedness

27 As Jesus[t] was saying this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and told him, “How blessed is the womb that gave birth to you and the breasts that nursed you!”

28 But he said, “Instead, how blessed are those who hear God’s word and obey it!”

The Sign of Jonah(E)

29 Now as the crowds continued to throng around Jesus,[u] he went on to say, “This people living today are[v] an evil generation. It craves a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah, 30 because just as Jonah became a sign[w] to the people of Nineveh, so the Son of Man will be a sign to this generation. 31 The queen of the south will stand up at the judgment and condemn the people living today,[x] because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. But look, something greater than Solomon is here! 32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment and condemn the people living today,[y] because they repented at the preaching of Jonah. But look, something greater than Jonah is here!”

The Lamp of the Body(F)

33 “No one lights a lamp and puts it in a hiding place[z] or under a basket,[aa] but on a lamp stand, so that those who enter may see its light. 34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light. But when it’s evil, your body is full of darkness. 35 Therefore, be careful that the light in you isn’t darkness. 36 Now if your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be as full of light as when a lamp gives you light with its rays.”

Jesus Denounces the Pharisees and the Experts in the Law(G)

37 After Jesus[ab] had said this, a Pharisee invited him to have a meal with him. So Jesus[ac] went and took his place at the table. 38 The Pharisee was surprised to see that he didn’t first wash before the meal. 39 But the Lord told him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but on the inside you are full of greed and evil. 40 You fools! The one who made the outside made the inside, too, didn’t he? 41 So give what is inside to the poor, and then everything will be clean for you.

42 “How terrible it will be for you Pharisees! You give a tenth of your mint, spices, and every kind of herb, but you neglect justice and the love of God. These are the things you should have practiced, without neglecting the others.

43 How terrible it will be for you Pharisees! You love to have the places of honor in the synagogues and to be greeted in the marketplaces.

44 How terrible it will be for you! You are like unmarked graves—people walk on them without realizing it.”

45 Then one of the experts in the Law told him, “Teacher, when you say these things, you insult us, too.”

46 Jesus[ad] said, “How terrible it will be for you experts in the Law, too! You load people with burdens that are hard to carry, yet you don’t even lift a finger to ease those burdens.

47 How terrible it will be for you! You build monuments for the prophets, and it was your ancestors who killed them! 48 So you are witnesses and approve of the deeds of your ancestors, because they killed those for whom you are building monuments. 49 That is why the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles. They will kill some of them and persecute others,’[ae] 50 so those living today[af] will be charged with the blood of all the prophets that was shed since the foundation of the world, 51 from the blood of Abel[ag] to the blood of Zechariah,[ah] who died between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be charged against this generation!

52 How terrible it will be for you experts in the Law! You have taken away the key to knowledge. You didn’t go in yourselves, and you kept out those who were trying to go in.”

53 As Jesus[ai] was leaving, the scribes and the Pharisees began to oppose him fiercely, interrogating him about many things. 54 They watched him closely in an effort to trap him in something he might say.

Jesus’ Teaching on Prayer(A)(B)

11 One day Jesus was praying(C) in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord,(D) teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

2 He said to them, “When you pray, say:

“‘Father,[a]
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom(E) come.[b]
3 Give us each day our daily bread.
4 Forgive us our sins,
    for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.[c](F)
And lead us not into temptation.[d]’”(G)

5 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; 6 a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7 And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity[e] he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.(H)

9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you;(I) seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for[f] a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Jesus and Beelzebul(J)(K)

14 Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed.(L) 15 But some of them said, “By Beelzebul,(M) the prince of demons, he is driving out demons.”(N) 16 Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven.(O)

17 Jesus knew their thoughts(P) and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. 18 If Satan(Q) is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. 19 Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 20 But if I drive out demons by the finger of God,(R) then the kingdom of God(S) has come upon you.

21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. 22 But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.

23 “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.(T)

24 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ 25 When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. 26 Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.”(U)

27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.”(V)

28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God(W) and obey it.”(X)

The Sign of Jonah(Y)

29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign,(Z) but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.(AA) 30 For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom;(AB) and now something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah;(AC) and now something greater than Jonah is here.

The Lamp of the Body(AD)

33 “No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.(AE) 34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy,[g] your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy,[h] your body also is full of darkness. 35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.”

Woes on the Pharisees and the Experts in the Law

37 When Jesus had finished speaking, a Pharisee invited him to eat with him; so he went in and reclined at the table.(AF) 38 But the Pharisee was surprised when he noticed that Jesus did not first wash before the meal.(AG)

39 Then the Lord(AH) said to him, “Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.(AI) 40 You foolish people!(AJ) Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also? 41 But now as for what is inside you—be generous to the poor,(AK) and everything will be clean for you.(AL)

42 “Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth(AM) of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God.(AN) You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.(AO)

43 “Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and respectful greetings in the marketplaces.(AP)

44 “Woe to you, because you are like unmarked graves,(AQ) which people walk over without knowing it.”

45 One of the experts in the law(AR) answered him, “Teacher, when you say these things, you insult us also.”

46 Jesus replied, “And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them.(AS)

47 “Woe to you, because you build tombs for the prophets, and it was your ancestors who killed them. 48 So you testify that you approve of what your ancestors did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.(AT) 49 Because of this, God in his wisdom(AU) said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and others they will persecute.’(AV) 50 Therefore this generation will be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world, 51 from the blood of Abel(AW) to the blood of Zechariah,(AX) who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be held responsible for it all.(AY)

52 “Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”(AZ)

53 When Jesus went outside, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to oppose him fiercely and to besiege him with questions, 54 waiting to catch him in something he might say.(BA)

Jesus and Beelzebul

When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled. 15 But some of them said, “He casts out demons (S)by Beelzebul, the prince of demons,” 16 while others, (T)to test him, kept seeking from him a sign from heaven. 17 (U)But he, (V)knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. 18 And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. 19 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, (W)by whom do (X)your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 20 But if it is by (Y)the finger of God that I cast out demons, then (Z)the kingdom of God has come upon you. 21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe; 22 (AA)but when one stronger than he attacks him and (AB)overcomes him, he takes away his (AC)armor in which he trusted and (AD)divides his spoil. 23 (AE)Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

Return of an Unclean Spirit

24 (AF)“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through (AG)waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ 25 And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. 26 Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And (AH)the last state of that person is worse than the first.”

True Blessedness

27 As he said these things, (AI)a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, (AJ)“Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!” 28 But he said, (AK)“Blessed rather are those (AL)who hear the word of God and (AM)keep it!”

The Sign of Jonah

29 (AN)When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, (AO)“This generation is an evil generation. (AP)It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. 30 For as (AQ)Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 (AR)The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and (AS)condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, (AT)something greater than Solomon is here. 32 (AU)The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and (AV)condemn it, for (AW)they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, (AX)something greater than Jonah is here.

The Light in You

33 (AY)“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. 34 Your eye is (AZ)the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is (BA)bad, your body is full of darkness. 35 (BB)Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. 36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, (BC)as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.”

Woes to the Pharisees and Lawyers

37 While Jesus[e] was speaking, (BD)a Pharisee asked him to dine with him, so he went in and reclined at table. 38 The Pharisee was astonished to see (BE)that he did not first wash before dinner. 39 And the Lord said to him, (BF)“Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of (BG)greed and wickedness. 40 (BH)You fools! (BI)Did not he who made the outside make the inside also? 41 But (BJ)give as alms those things that are within, and behold, (BK)everything is clean for you.

42 (BL)“But woe to you Pharisees! For (BM)you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect (BN)justice and (BO)the love of God. (BP)These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. 43 Woe to you Pharisees! For (BQ)you love the best seat in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces. 44 Woe to you! (BR)For you are like unmarked graves, and people walk over them without knowing it.”

45 One of (BS)the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you insult us also.” 46 And he said, “Woe to you (BT)lawyers also! For (BU)you load people with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers. 47 (BV)Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed. 48 (BW)So you are witnesses and you (BX)consent to the deeds of (BY)your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs. 49 Therefore also (BZ)the Wisdom of God said, (CA)‘I will send them (CB)prophets and apostles, (CC)some of whom they will (CD)kill and persecute,’ 50 so that (CE)the blood of all the prophets, shed (CF)from the foundation of the world, may be (CG)charged against this generation, 51 from the blood of (CH)Abel to the blood of (CI)Zechariah, who perished between (CJ)the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be (CK)required of this generation. 52 Woe to you (CL)lawyers! (CM)For you have taken away the key of (CN)knowledge. You (CO)did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.”

53 As he went away from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him hard and to provoke him to speak about many things, 54 (CP)lying in wait for him, (CQ)to catch him in something he might say.
