The Message
96 1-2 Sing God a brand-new song!
Earth and everyone in it, sing!
Sing to God—worship God!
2-3 Shout the news of his victory from sea to sea,
Take the news of his glory to the lost,
News of his wonders to one and all!
4-5 For God is great, and worth a thousand Hallelujahs.
His furious beauty puts the other gods to shame;
Pagan gods are mere tatters and rags.
5-6 God made the heavens—
Royal splendor radiates from him,
A powerful beauty sets him apart.
7 Bravo, God, Bravo!
Everyone join in the great shout: Encore!
In awe before the beauty, in awe before the might.
8-9 Bring gifts and celebrate,
Bow before the beauty of God,
Then to your knees—everyone worship!
10 Get out the message—God Rules!
He put the world on a firm foundation;
He treats everyone fair and square.
11 Let’s hear it from Sky,
With Earth joining in,
And a huge round of applause from Sea.
12 Let Wilderness turn cartwheels,
Animals, come dance,
Put every tree of the forest in the choir—
13 An extravaganza before God as he comes,
As he comes to set everything right on earth,
Set everything right, treat everyone fair.

Que cante al Señor la tierra entera
96 Canten al Señor un cántico nuevo,
que cante al Señor la tierra entera;
2 canten al Señor, bendigan su nombre;
pregonen su salvación día tras día.
3 Pregonen su gloria entre las naciones,
sus prodigios entre todos los pueblos.
4 Porque es grande el Señor,
es digno de alabanza,
más admirable que todos los dioses.
5 Todos los dioses paganos son nada,
pero el Señor ha hecho los cielos.
6 Gloria y esplendor hay ante él,
majestad y poder en su santuario.
7 Rindan al Señor, familias de los pueblos,
rindan al Señor gloria y poder;
8 reconozcan que es glorioso su nombre,
tráiganle ofrendas y entren en su presencia;
9 adoren al Señor en su hermoso Templo,
que tiemble ante él la tierra entera.
10 Digan a las naciones: “El Señor es rey”.
El universo está seguro, no se derrumbará.
Él juzgará con rectitud a los pueblos.
11 Que se alegre el cielo y se goce la tierra,
que retumbe el mar y cuanto lo llena;
12 que el campo entero se llene de gozo,
que griten de júbilo los árboles del bosque,
13 delante del Señor que viene
dispuesto a gobernar la tierra.
Él juzgará al universo con justicia
y a los pueblos con su fidelidad.

Psalm 96(A)
1 Sing to the Lord(B) a new song;(C)
sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, praise his name;(D)
proclaim his salvation(E) day after day.
3 Declare his glory(F) among the nations,
his marvelous deeds(G) among all peoples.
4 For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;(H)
he is to be feared(I) above all gods.(J)
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols,(K)
but the Lord made the heavens.(L)
6 Splendor and majesty(M) are before him;
strength and glory(N) are in his sanctuary.
7 Ascribe to the Lord,(O) all you families of nations,(P)
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
8 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering(Q) and come into his courts.(R)
9 Worship the Lord(S) in the splendor of his[a] holiness;(T)
tremble(U) before him, all the earth.(V)
10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.(W)”
The world is firmly established,(X) it cannot be moved;(Y)
he will judge(Z) the peoples with equity.(AA)
11 Let the heavens rejoice,(AB) let the earth be glad;(AC)
let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;
let all the trees of the forest(AD) sing for joy.(AE)
13 Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes,
he comes to judge(AF) the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness(AG)
and the peoples in his faithfulness.(AH)
