1599 Geneva Bible
79 1 The Israelites complain to God for the great calamity and oppression that they suffered by God’s enemies, 8 and confessing their sins, flee to God’s mercies with full hope of deliverance, 10 Because their calamities were joined with the contempt of his Name, 13 for the which they promise to be thankful.
A Psalm committed to Asaph.
1 O God, [a]the heathen are come into thine inheritance: thine holy Temple have they defiled, and made Jerusalem heaps of stones.
2 The [b]dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto fowls of the heaven, and the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
3 Their blood have they shed like waters, round about Jerusalem, and there was none to [c]bury them.
4 We are a reproach to our [d]neighbors, even a scorn and derision unto them that are round about us.
5 Lord, how long wilt thou be angry, forever? shall thy jealousy [e]burn like fire?
6 (A)Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy Name.
7 For they have devoured Jacob, and made his dwelling place desolate.
8 Remember not against us the [f]former iniquities, but [g]make haste, and let thy tender mercies prevent us: for we are in great misery.
9 Help us, O God of our [h]salvation, for the glory of thy Name, and deliver us, and be merciful unto our sins for thy Name’s sake.
10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let them be known among the heathen in our sight by the vengeance of the blood of thy servants that is shed.
11 Let the sighing of the [i]prisoners come before thee: according to thy mighty arm preserve [j]the children of death,
12 And render to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
13 So we thy people, and sheep of thy pasture shall praise thee forever: and from generation to generation [k]we will set forth thy praise.

79 O Dios, ginsalakay sang mga taga-iban nga nasyon ang duta nga imo ginapanag-iyahan.
Gindagtaan nila ang imo balaan nga templo kag ginlaglag ang Jerusalem.
2 Ginpakaon nila sa mga pispis kag sa mapintas nga mga sapat ang mga bangkay sang imo matutom nga mga alagad.
3 Ginpaagay nila ang dugo sang imo katawhan pareho sa tubig nga nagbaha sa bug-os nga Jerusalem,
kag wala sing may nabilin nga maglubong sa mga patay.
4 Ginapakahuy-an kami kag ginayaguta sang mga nasyon sa palibot namon.
5 Hasta san-o pa bala, Ginoo, ang imo kaakig sa amon?
Hasta bala sa wala sing katapusan?
Magadabdab na lang bala pareho sa kalayo ang imo kaimon?
6 Ipakita ang imo kaakig sa mga nasyon kag mga ginharian nga wala nagakilala kag nagasimba sa imo.
7 Kay ginpamatay nila ang imo katawhan[a] kag ginlaglag ang ila nasyon.
8 Indi kami pagsiluti tungod sa mga sala sang amon mga katigulangan.
Sa baylo, kaluoyi kami gilayon kay wala na gid kami sing may mahimo.
9 Buligi kami, O Dios nga amon manluluwas, agod madayaw ka.
Luwasa kami kag patawara sa amon mga sala agod mapadunggan ka.
10 Indi pagtuguti nga magsiling sa amon ang iban nga mga nasyon, “Diin na bala ang inyo Dios?”
Samtang nagatulok kami ipareyalisar sa mga nasyon nga balusan mo sila sa ila pagpamatay sang imo katawhan nga imo mga alagad.
11 Pamatii ang mga pag-ugayong sang imo katawhan nga ginbihag.
Mga palatyon sila, gani hilwaya sila paagi sa imo gahom.
12 Ginoo, balusi sing pito ka pilo ang amon katupad nga mga nasyon sa ila nga pagpakahuya sa imo.
13 Kag kami nga imo katawhan, nga imo ginabantayan pareho sa mga karnero, magapasalamat sa imo sa wala sing katapusan.
Dayawon ka namon permi hasta san-o.

A psalm of Asaph.
1 O God, the nations have invaded your inheritance;(A)
they have defiled(B) your holy temple,
they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble.(C)
2 They have left the dead bodies of your servants
as food for the birds of the sky,(D)
the flesh of your own people for the animals of the wild.(E)
3 They have poured out blood like water
all around Jerusalem,
and there is no one to bury(F) the dead.(G)
4 We are objects of contempt to our neighbors,
of scorn(H) and derision to those around us.(I)
5 How long,(J) Lord? Will you be angry(K) forever?
How long will your jealousy burn like fire?(L)
6 Pour out your wrath(M) on the nations
that do not acknowledge(N) you,
on the kingdoms
that do not call on your name;(O)
7 for they have devoured(P) Jacob
and devastated his homeland.
8 Do not hold against us the sins of past generations;(Q)
may your mercy come quickly to meet us,
for we are in desperate need.(R)
9 Help us,(S) God our Savior,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us and forgive our sins
for your name’s sake.(T)
10 Why should the nations say,
“Where is their God?”(U)
Before our eyes, make known among the nations
that you avenge(V) the outpoured blood(W) of your servants.
11 May the groans of the prisoners come before you;
with your strong arm preserve those condemned to die.
12 Pay back into the laps(X) of our neighbors seven times(Y)
the contempt they have hurled at you, Lord.
13 Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture,(Z)
will praise you forever;(AA)
from generation to generation
we will proclaim your praise.
