大衛的詩，交給詩班長。
40 我曾切切等候耶和華；
他轉向我，聽了我的呼求。
2 他把我從荒蕪的坑裡，
從泥沼中拉上來；
他使我的腳站在磐石上，
又使我的腳步穩定。
3 他使我口唱新歌，
讚美我們的 神；
許多人看見了，就必懼怕，
並且要倚靠耶和華。
4 那倚靠耶和華，
不轉向高傲和偏向虛謊的人的，
這人是有福的。
5 耶和華我的 神啊！
你所行的奇事，並你向我們所懷的意念很多，
沒有人可以和你相比；
如果我要述說陳明，
也多到不能勝數。
6 祭品和禮物不是你喜悅的。
你開通了我的耳朵；
燔祭和贖罪祭，不是你要求的。
7 那時我說：“看哪！我來了，
經卷上已經記載我的事；
8 我的 神啊！我樂意遵行你的旨意；
你的律法常在我的心裡。”
9 我要在大會中傳揚公義的福音；
我必不禁止我的嘴唇；
耶和華啊！這是你知道的。
10 我沒有把你的公義隱藏在心裡；
我已經述說了你的信實和救恩；
在大會中，我沒有隱瞞你的慈愛和誠實。
11 耶和華啊！求你的憐憫不要向我止息；
願你的慈愛和誠實常常保護我。
12 因有無數的禍患圍繞著我；
我的罪孽追上了我，使我不能看見；
它們比我的頭髮還多，
以致我心驚膽戰。
13 耶和華啊！求你開恩搭救我；
耶和華啊！求你快來幫助我。
14 願那些尋找我，要毀滅我命的，
一同抱愧蒙羞；
願那些喜悅我遭害的，
退後受辱。
15 願那些對我說：“啊哈！啊哈！”的，
都因羞愧而驚惶。
16 願所有尋求你的，
都因你歡喜快樂；
願那些喜愛你救恩的，
常說：“要尊耶和華為大。”
17 至於我，我是困苦貧窮的；
主仍顧念我。
你是我的幫助，我的拯救；
我的 神啊！求你不要耽延。

40 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.
13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.
17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

40 Naghulat ako nga mapailubon sa Ginoo,
kag ginpamatian niya ang akon pagpangayo sang bulig.
2 Daw pareho lang nga ginbatak niya ako sa lunangon nga buho ukon lamawan.
Kag gintungtong niya ako sa bato agod indi ako maano.
3 Gintudluan niya ako sang bag-o nga kanta,
kanta nga pagdayaw sa iya nga aton Dios.
Madamo nga tawo ang makakita sini,
kag magatahod sila kag magasalig sa Ginoo.
4 Bulahan ang tawo nga nagasalig sa Ginoo,
kag wala nagadangop sa mga matinaas-taason nga nagasunod sa kabutigan.[a]
5 Ginoo nga akon Dios, wala sing may makapareho sa imo.
Madamo nga makatilingala nga mga butang ang ginhimo mo,
kag madamo ang imo mga plano sa amon.
Indi ko ini masaysay tanan kay puwerte kadamo.
6 Wala mo nagustuhan ang nagkalain-lain nga klase sang mga halad.
Wala ka nagpangayo sang mga halad nga ginasunog kag halad sa pagpakatinlo.
Sa baylo, ginhimo mo ako nga matinumanon sa imo.
7 Gani nagsiling ako,
“Ari ako, handa nga magtuman sang imo mga sugo suno sa nasulat sa Kasulatan parte sa akon.[b]
8 O Dios ko, luyag ko nga tumanon ang imo kabubut-on.
Ang imo kasuguan ginahuptan ko sa akon tagipusuon.”
9 Ginasugid ko ang imo pagluwas[c] sa akon sa pagtililipon sang imo katawhan.
Nahibaluan mo, Ginoo, nga indi ako mag-untat sa pagsugid sini.
10 Wala ko ginatago sa akon kaugalingon ang imo nga pagluwas sa akon.[d]
Ginasugid ko nga matutom ka kag nagapangluwas.
Wala ko ginahipsan ang imo gugma kag kamatuoran[e] kon magtilipon kami sang imo katawhan
11 Ginoo, indi pagpunggi ang imo kaluoy sa akon.
Kabay pa nga ang imo gugma kag kamatuoran magatipig permi sa akon.
12 Kay ginalibutan ako sang madamo nga kalisod nga indi maisip.
Daw sa natabunan na ako sang akon mga sala, kag indi ako makakita.
Mas madamo pa ang akon mga sala sang sa akon buhok,
kag tungod sini nadulaan ako sang kaisog.
13 Ginoo, palihog luwasa ako!
Buligi ako gilayon.
14 Kabay pa nga ang tanan nga nagatinguha sa pagpatay sa akon mahuy-an kag magasalasala.
Kabay pa nga ang tanan nga nagahandom sang akon kalaglagan magapalalagyo sa kahuya.
15 Kabay pa nga ang mga nagayaguta sa akon matingala gid nga nahuy-an sila.
16 Pero kabay pa nga ang tanan nga nagadangop sa imo magkalipay gid tungod sa imo.
Kabay pa nga ang mga naluyag sa kaluwasan nga halin sa imo magsiling permi, “Dalayawon ang Ginoo.”
17 Kon parte sa akon, kubos kag imol ako.
Kabay pa nga hunahunaon mo ako, Ginoo.
Ikaw ang akon manugbulig kag manughilway.
O Dios ko, buligi ako gilayon.

1 I waited patiently(B) for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.(C)
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,(D)
out of the mud(E) and mire;(F)
he set my feet(G) on a rock(H)
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song(I) in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord(J)
and put their trust(K) in him.
4 Blessed is the one(L)
who trusts in the Lord,(M)
who does not look to the proud,(N)
to those who turn aside to false gods.[b](O)
5 Many, Lord my God,
are the wonders(P) you have done,
the things you planned for us.
None can compare(Q) with you;
were I to speak and tell of your deeds,
they would be too many(R) to declare.
6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire—(S)
but my ears you have opened[c]—(T)
burnt offerings(U) and sin offerings[d] you did not require.
7 Then I said, “Here I am, I have come—
it is written about me in the scroll.[e](V)
8 I desire to do your will,(W) my God;(X)
your law is within my heart.”(Y)
9 I proclaim your saving acts(Z) in the great assembly;(AA)
I do not seal my lips, Lord,
as you know.(AB)
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness(AC) and your saving help.
I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness
from the great assembly.(AD)
11 Do not withhold your mercy(AE) from me, Lord;
may your love(AF) and faithfulness(AG) always protect(AH) me.
12 For troubles(AI) without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.(AJ)
They are more than the hairs of my head,(AK)
and my heart fails(AL) within me.
13 Be pleased to save me, Lord;
come quickly, Lord, to help me.(AM)
14 May all who want to take my life(AN)
be put to shame and confusion;(AO)
may all who desire my ruin(AP)
be turned back in disgrace.
15 May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”(AQ)
be appalled at their own shame.
16 But may all who seek you(AR)
rejoice and be glad(AS) in you;
may those who long for your saving help always say,
“The Lord is great!”(AT)
