Der gute Hirte
23 Ein Lied von David.
Der Herr ist mein Hirte,
nichts wird mir fehlen.
2 Er weidet mich auf saftigen Wiesen
und führt mich zu frischen Quellen.
3 Er gibt mir neue Kraft.
Er leitet mich auf sicheren Wegen
und macht seinem Namen damit alle Ehre.
4 Auch wenn es durch dunkle Täler geht,
fürchte ich kein Unglück,
denn du, Herr, bist bei mir.
Dein Hirtenstab gibt mir Schutz und Trost.[a]
5 Du lädst mich ein und deckst mir den Tisch
vor den Augen meiner Feinde.
Du begrüßt mich wie ein Hausherr seinen Gast[b]
und füllst meinen Becher bis zum Rand.
6 Deine Güte und Liebe begleiten mich Tag für Tag;
in deinem Haus darf ich bleiben[c] mein Leben lang.

1 The Lord is my shepherd,(A) I lack nothing.(B)
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,(C)
3 he refreshes my soul.(D)
He guides me(E) along the right paths(F)
for his name’s sake.(G)
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a](H)
I will fear no evil,(I)
for you are with me;(J)
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
