10 弟兄們，我心裡切切盼望的，並且為以色列人向 神祈求的，是要他們得救。 2 我可以為他們作證，他們對 神有熱心，但不是按著真見識； 3 他們既然不明白 神的義，而又企圖建立自己的義，就不服 神的義了。 4 因為律法的終極就是基督，使所有信的人都得著義。
求告主名的都必得救
5 論到出於律法的義，摩西寫著說：“遵行這些事的人就必因這些事而活。” 6 但那出於信心的義卻這樣說：“你心裡不要說：‘誰要升到天上去呢？’（就是要把基督領下來，） 7 或是說：‘誰要下到深淵去呢？’（就是要把基督從死人中領上來。）” 8 然而那出於信心的義還說甚麼呢？
“這話與你相近，
在你口裡，也在你心裡。”
這話就是我們所傳信心的信息。 9 你若口裡認耶穌為主，心裡信 神使他從死人中復活，就必得救； 10 因為心裡相信就必稱義，用口承認就必得救。 11 經上說：“所有信靠他的人，必不致失望。” 12 其實並不分猶太人和希臘人，因為大家同有一位主；他厚待所有求告他的人， 13 因為“凡求告主名的，都必得救。”
14 然而，人還沒有信他，怎能求告他呢？沒有聽見他，怎能信他呢？沒有人傳揚，怎能聽見呢？ 15 如果沒有蒙差遣，怎能傳揚呢？如經上所記：“那些傳美事報喜訊的人，他們的腳蹤多麼美！” 16 但並不是所有的人都順從福音，因為以賽亞說：“主啊，我們所傳的，有誰信呢？” 17 可見信心是從所聽的道來的，所聽的道是藉著基督的話來的。 18 但是我要說，他們沒有聽見嗎？他們的確聽見了，如經上所記：
“他們的聲音傳遍全地，
他們的言語傳到地極。”
19 我再說：以色列人真的不明白嗎？首先，摩西說：
“我要使你們對那不是子民的生嫉妒，
對那無知的民族起忿怒。”
20 後來，以賽亞也放膽地說：
“沒有尋找我的，我讓他們找到；
沒有求問我的，我向他們顯現。”
21 論到以色列人，他卻說：
“我整天向那悖逆頂嘴的子民伸開雙手。”

10 Bröder, mitt hjärtas önskan och min bön till Gud för dem är att de skall bli frälsta. 2 Jag kan vittna om att de hängivet tjänar Gud, men de saknar den rätta insikten. 3 De känner inte rättfärdigheten från Gud utan strävar efter att upprätta sin egen rättfärdighet och har inte underordnat sig rättfärdigheten från Gud. 4 Ty Kristus är lagens slut, till rättfärdighet för var och en som tror.
5 Mose skriver ju om den rättfärdighet som kommer av lagen: Den människa som håller lagen skall leva genom den.[a] 6 Men den rättfärdighet som kommer av tron säger: Fråga inte i ditt hjärta: Vem skall fara upp till himlen? [b] - det vill säga för att hämta ner Kristus - 7 eller: Vem skall fara ner i avgrunden? - det vill säga för att hämta upp Kristus från de döda. 8 Vad säger den då? Ordet är dig nära, i din mun och i ditt hjärta, nämligen trons ord som vi predikar. 9 Om du därför med din mun bekänner att Jesus är Herren[c] och i ditt hjärta tror att Gud har uppväckt honom från de döda, skall du bli frälst. 10 Ty med hjärtat tror man och blir rättfärdig, med munnen bekänner man och blir frälst. 11 Skriften säger:Ingen som tror på honom skall stå där med skam.[d] 12 Det är ingen skillnad mellan jude och grek. Alla har en och samme Herre, och han ger sina rikedomar åt alla som åkallar honom. 13 Tyvar och en som åkallar Herrens namn skall bli frälst.[e]
14 Men hur skulle de kunna åkalla den som de inte har kommit till tro på? Och hur skulle de kunna tro på den som de inte har hört? Och hur skulle de kunna höra, om ingen predikar? 15 Och hur skulle några kunna predika, om de inte blev utsända? Det står skrivet:Hur ljuvliga är inte stegen av dem som förkunnar det goda budskapet.[f]
16 Men alla ville inte lyda evangeliet. Jesaja säger:Herre, vem trodde vår predikan?[g] 17 Alltså kommer tron av predikan och predikan i kraft av Kristi ord. 18 Men nu frågar jag: Har de kanske inte hört? Jo, mer än så:Deras röst har gått ut över hela jorden och deras ord till världens ändar.[h] 19 Jag frågar också: Har Israel kanske inte förstått? Först säger Mose:Jag skall väcka er avund mot ett folk som inte är ett folk, mot ett folk utan förstånd skall jag väcka er vrede.[i] 20 Och Jesaja går så långt att han säger: Jag lät mig finnas av dem som inte sökte mig, jag uppenbarade mig för dem som inte frågade efter mig.[j] 21 Men om Israel säger han: Hela dagen har jag räckt ut mina händer mot ett olydigt och trotsigt folk.

10 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire(A) and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous(B) for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.(C) 4 Christ is the culmination of the law(D) so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.(E)
5 Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”[a](F) 6 But the righteousness that is by faith(G) says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’”[b](H) (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 “or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’”[c](I) (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).(J) 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”[d](K) that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare(L) with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”(M) and believe(N) in your heart that God raised him from the dead,(O) you will be saved.(P) 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”[e](Q) 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile(R)—the same Lord is Lord of all(S) and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord(T) will be saved.”[f](U)
14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”[g](V)
16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news.(W) For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”[h](X) 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message,(Y) and the message is heard through the word about Christ.(Z) 18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did:
19 Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,
“I will make you envious(AB) by those who are not a nation;
I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.”[j](AC)
20 And Isaiah boldly says,
“I was found by those who did not seek me;
I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”[k](AD)
21 But concerning Israel he says,

10 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
