3 有一个法利赛人，名叫尼哥迪慕，是犹太人的官。 2 这人夜里来见耶稣，说：“拉比，我们知道你是由神那里来做师傅的，因为你所行的神迹，若没有神同在，无人能行。” 3 耶稣回答说：“我实实在在地告诉你：人若不重生，就不能见神的国。” 4 尼哥迪慕说：“人已经老了，如何能重生呢？岂能再进母腹生出来吗？” 5 耶稣说：“我实实在在地告诉你：人若不是从水和圣灵生的，就不能进神的国。 6 从肉身生的就是肉身，从灵生的就是灵。 7 我说你们必须重生，你不要以为稀奇。 8 风随着意思吹，你听见风的响声，却不晓得从哪里来，往哪里去。凡从圣灵生的，也是如此。” 9 尼哥迪慕问他说：“怎能有这事呢？” 10 耶稣回答说：“你是以色列人的先生，还不明白这事吗？ 11 我实实在在地告诉你：我们所说的是我们知道的，我们所见证的是我们见过的，你们却不领受我们的见证。 12 我对你们说地上的事，你们尚且不信，若说天上的事，如何能信呢？ 13 除了从天降下仍旧在天的人子，没有人升过天。 14 摩西在旷野怎样举蛇，人子也必照样被举起来， 15 叫一切信他的都得永生[a]。

16 “神爱世人，甚至将他的独生子赐给他们，叫一切信他的不致灭亡，反得永生。 17 因为神差他的儿子降世，不是要定世人的罪[b]，乃是要叫世人因他得救。 18 信他的人不被定罪，不信的人罪已经定了，因为他不信神独生子的名。

3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
