葡萄树与枝子
15 “我就是真葡萄树，我父是园丁。 2 所有属于我[a]而不结果子的枝条，他就除掉；而所有结果子的，他就修剪干净，好让它结出更多的果子。 3 藉着我给你们讲的话语，你们已经干净了。 4 你们当住在我里面，我就住在你们里面。枝条如果不留在葡萄树上，就不能由自己结出果子；照样，你们如果不住在我里面，你们也是如此。
5 “我就是葡萄树，你们是枝条。那住在我里面、我也在他里面的，他才结出很多果子，因为没有我，你们什么也不能做。 6 一个人如果不住在我里面，就像枝条被丢在外面枯干了，然后被收集扔进火里焚烧。 7 你们如果住在我里面，而我的话也住在你们里面，那么，凡是你们所愿的，当祈求，就将为你们成就。 8 你们结出很多果子，就表明是我的门徒了；从这一点我父也就得荣耀。
彼此相爱
9 “正如父爱我，我也爱你们。你们当住在我的爱里。 10 如果你们遵守我的命令，就会住在我的爱里；就像我遵守了我父的命令，住在他的爱里那样。
11 “我把这些事告诉了你们，是要我的喜乐在[b]你们里面，并且使你们的喜乐得以满足。 12 这是我的命令：你们要彼此相爱，就像我爱了你们那样。 13 一个人为他的朋友舍弃自己的生命，人的爱没有比这更大的了。 14 你们如果遵行我所吩咐的事，你们就是我的朋友了。 15 我不再称你们为奴仆，因为奴仆不知道主人所做的事。我却称你们为朋友，因为我把从我父所听到的一切，都让你们明白了。 16 不是你们拣选了我，而是我拣选了你们，并指派了你们，好使你们去，让你们结出果子，而且使你们的果子长存。这样，你们奉我的名无论向父求什么，他就会赐给你们。 17 我将这些事吩咐你们，是要让你们彼此相爱。
预言受迫害
18 “这世界如果恨你们，你们应当知道，世界在恨你们之前已经恨我了。 19 如果你们属于这世界，世界会把你们做为属自己的来爱；但是，因为你们不属于这世界，而是我从世界中拣选了你们，所以世界就恨你们。 20 你们当记住我对你们说过的话：“没有一个奴仆大过他的主人。”他们既然逼迫了我，也会逼迫你们；如果他们遵守了我的话，也就会遵守你们的话。 21 但是，因我名的缘故，他们会对你们做这一切事，因为他们不认识派我来的那一位。 22 如果我没有来，也没有教导他们，他们就没有罪；但如今，他们的罪无可推诿了。 23 恨我的，也恨我的父。 24 如果我没有在他们当中做别人从未做过的事，他们就没有罪；但如今他们虽然看到了，还是恨我和我的父。 25 不过这是为要应验他们律法上所记载的话：‘他们无缘无故地恨我。’[c]
做见证与被拒绝
26 “我将从父那里派遣慰助者来，他就是从父而来的真理的灵。他来的时候，将为我做见证。 27 并且你们也要做见证，因为你们从一开始就与我在一起。

Jesus, the True Vine
15 “I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3 You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
9 “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. 10 When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! 12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. 16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
The World’s Hatred
18 “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. 19 The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. 20 Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you. 21 They will do all this to you because of me, for they have rejected the one who sent me. 22 They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Anyone who hates me also hates my Father. 24 If I hadn’t done such miraculous signs among them that no one else could do, they would not be guilty. But as it is, they have seen everything I did, yet they still hate me and my Father. 25 This fulfills what is written in their Scriptures[a]: ‘They hated me without cause.’
26 “But I will send you the Advocate[b]—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me. 27 And you must also testify about me because you have been with me from the beginning of my ministry.

The Vine and the Branches
15 “I am(A) the true vine,(B) and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit,(C) while every branch that does bear fruit(D) he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.(E) 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you.(F) No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;(G) apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.(H) 7 If you remain in me(I) and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.(J) 8 This is to my Father’s glory,(K) that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.(L)
9 “As the Father has loved me,(M) so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands,(N) you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.(O) 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.(P) 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.(Q) 14 You are my friends(R) if you do what I command.(S) 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.(T) 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you(U) so that you might go and bear fruit(V)—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.(W) 17 This is my command: Love each other.(X)
The World Hates the Disciples
18 “If the world hates you,(Y) keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you(Z) out of the world. That is why the world hates you.(AA) 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[b](AB) If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.(AC) If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name,(AD) for they do not know the one who sent me.(AE) 22 If I had not come and spoken to them,(AF) they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.(AG) 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did,(AH) they would not be guilty of sin.(AI) As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law:(AJ) ‘They hated me without reason.’[c](AK)
The Work of the Holy Spirit
26 “When the Advocate(AL) comes, whom I will send to you from the Father(AM)—the Spirit of truth(AN) who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.(AO) 27 And you also must testify,(AP) for you have been with me from the beginning.(AQ)

15 “Ako ang tunay na puno ng ubas, at ang aking Ama ang tagapag-alaga nito. 2 Tinatanggal niya sa akin ang bawat sangang hindi namumunga. Bawat sangang namumunga ay nililinis niya upang lalo pa itong mamunga. 3 Malilinis na kayo dahil sa salitang sinabi ko sa inyo. 4 Manatili kayo sa akin at ako'y mananatili sa inyo. Hindi makapamumungang mag-isa ang sanga malibang manatili ito sa puno, gayundin naman, hindi kayo makapamumunga malibang manatili kayo sa akin. 5 Ako ang puno ng ubas, kayo ang mga sanga. Ang nananatili sa akin at ako rin sa kanya ay namumunga nang sagana, sapagkat hindi kayo makagagawa ng anuman kung kayo'y hiwalay sa akin. 6 Ang sinumang hindi nananatili sa akin ay itinatapon tulad ng sanga. Ito'y natutuyo, at ang gayong mga sanga ay tinitipon at inihahagis sa apoy, at sinusunog. 7 Kung nananatili kayo sa akin, at ang mga salita ko'y nananatili sa inyo, hilingin ninyo anumang ibig ninyo, at ito'y ipagkakaloob sa inyo. 8 Kayo'y mamunga nang sagana at maging mga alagad ko, sa ganitong paraan ay napaparangalan ang aking Ama. 9 Kung paanong minahal ako ng Ama, minamahal ko rin kayo; manatili kayo sa aking pagmamahal. 10 Kung tutuparin ninyo ang mga utos ko, mananatili kayo sa pag-ibig ko, kung paanong tinutupad ko ang mga utos ng aking Ama at ako'y nananatili sa kanyang pag-ibig. 11 Sinabi ko ang mga ito sa inyo upang mapasainyo ang aking kagalakan, at ang kagalakan ninyo ay maging lubos. 12 (A)Ito ang aking utos: kayo’y magmahalan gaya ng pagmamahal ko sa inyo. 13 Walang hihigit pa sa pag-ibig ng taong nag-aalay ng kanyang buhay para sa kanyang mga kaibigan. 14 Kayo'y mga kaibigan ko kung sumusunod kayo sa ipinag-uutos ko sa inyo. 15 Hindi ko na kayo itinuturing na mga alipin, sapagkat hindi alam ng alipin ang ginagawa ng kanyang panginoon. Sa halip itinuturing ko kayong mga kaibigan, sapagkat lahat ng narinig ko sa aking Ama ay ipinaalam ko na sa inyo. 16 Hindi kayo ang pumili sa akin sa halip ako ang pumili sa inyo. Isinugo ko kayo upang humayo at mamunga ng mga bungang nananatili sa inyo. Sa gayon, anumang hilingin ninyo sa Ama sa pangalan ko ay ipagkakaloob sa inyo. 17 Ito ang ipinag-uutos ko sa inyo: mahalin ninyo ang isa't isa. 18 Kung kinapopootan kayo ng sanlibutan, dapat ninyong malaman na ako muna ang kinapootan nito bago kayo. 19 Kung kayo ay kabilang sa sanlibutan, mamahalin kayo ng sanlibutan bilang kabahagi nito. Dahil hindi kayo kabilang sa sanlibutan, sa halip ay pinili ko kayo mula sa sanlibutan, kaya kinapopootan kayo nito. 20 (B)Tandaan ninyo ang salitang sinabi ko sa inyo: ‘Walang aliping mas dakila kaysa kanyang panginoon.’ Kung ako ay pinahirapan nila, pahihirapan din nila kayo. Kung sinunod nila ang salita ko, susunod din sila sa salita ninyo. 21 Subalit gagawin nila ang lahat ng ito sa inyo dahil sa taglay ninyo ang pangalan ko, at hindi nila nakikilala ang nagsugo sa akin. 22 Kung hindi ako dumating at nagsalita sa kanila, hindi mahahayag na sila'y nagkasala, ngunit ngayon, wala na silang maidadahilan para sa kanilang pagkakasala. 23 Ang napopoot sa akin ay napopoot din sa Ama. 24 Kung hindi ko ginawa sa harap nila ang mga gawang wala pang sinumang nakagawa, hindi mahahayag na sila'y nagkasala. Ngunit ngayo'y nakita na nila ang mga gawa ko, gayunma'y kinapopootan nila ako at ang aking Ama. 25 (C)Ito ay katuparan ng salita na nakasulat sa kanilang kautusan, ‘Kinapootan nila ako nang walang dahilan.’ 26 Pagdating ng Kaagapay na aking isusugo mula sa Ama, ang Espiritu ng katotohanan na darating mula sa Ama, siya ang magpapatotoo tungkol sa akin. 27 At maging kayo ay magpapatotoo sapagkat kayo ay kasama ko mula pa sa simula.
