12 逾越節前六天，耶穌到了伯大尼，就是拉撒路所住的地方；耶穌曾經使這拉撒路從死人中復活。 2 有人在那裡為耶穌預備了筵席。馬大在那裡侍候，拉撒路也和一些人與耶穌一同吃飯。 3 馬利亞拿了半公斤珍貴純正的哪噠香膏，抹耶穌的腳，又用自己的頭髮去擦；屋裡就滿了香膏的香氣。 4 耶穌的一個門徒，就是那要出賣他的加略人猶大，說： 5 “為甚麼不把這香膏賣三百銀幣，賙濟窮人呢？” 6 他說這話，並不是因為他關懷窮人，而是因為他是個賊，又帶著錢囊，常取其中所存的。 7 耶穌就說：“由她吧，這香膏是她留下來為我安葬的日子用的。 8 你們常常有窮人跟你們在一起，卻不常有我。”
9 有一大群猶太人知道耶穌在那裡，就都來了，然而他們不單是為了耶穌的緣故，也是要看看耶穌使他從死人中復活的拉撒路。 10 於是祭司長想把拉撒路也殺掉， 11 因為有許多猶太人為了拉撒路的緣故，離開他們，信了耶穌。
騎驢進耶路撒冷(B)
12 第二天，有一大群上來過節的人，聽見耶穌要來耶路撒冷， 13 就拿著棕樹枝出去迎接他，歡呼說：
“和散那，
奉主名來的以色列王，
是應當稱頌的！”
14 耶穌找到一頭小驢，就騎在上面，正如經上所記的：
15 “錫安的居民哪，不要懼怕；
看哪，你的王來了，
他騎著小驢來了。”
16 門徒起初不明白這些事，可是到耶穌得了榮耀以後，他們才想起這些話是指著他說的，並且人們果然向他這樣行了。 17 那些和耶穌在一起，看見他叫拉撒路從墳墓出來，又使他從死人中復活的群眾，都為這事作見證。 18 群眾因為聽見他行了這神蹟，就去迎接他。 19 於是法利賽人彼此說：“你們看，你們都是徒勞無功，世人都去跟隨他了！”
主被舉起來就吸引萬人
20 上去過節作禮拜的人中，有些是希臘人。 21 他們來到加利利的伯賽大人腓力那裡，請求他，說：“先生，我們想見耶穌。” 22 腓力去告訴安得烈，安得烈就和腓力去告訴耶穌。 23 耶穌對他們說：“人子得榮耀的時候到了！ 24 我實實在在告訴你們，一粒麥子若不落在地裡死了，仍舊是一粒；如果死了，就結出許多果實來。 25 愛惜自己生命的，就喪掉生命；在這世上恨惡自己生命的，必會保全生命到永遠。 26 如果有人服事我，就應當跟從我；我在哪裡，服事我的人也會在哪裡；如果有人服事我，我父必尊重他。
27 “我現在心裡煩亂，我應該說甚麼呢？說‘父啊，救我脫離這時刻’嗎？然而我正是為了這個緣故來的，要面對這時刻。 28 父啊，願你榮耀你的名！”當時有聲音從天上來，說：“我已經榮耀了我的名，還要再榮耀。” 29 站在旁邊的群眾聽見了，就說：“打雷了。”另外有人說：“有天使對他說話。” 30 耶穌說：“這聲音不是為了我，而是為了你們發出的。 31 現在是這世界受審判的時候了，現在這世界的王要被趕出去。 32 我若從地上被舉起來，就要吸引萬人歸向我。” 33 他說這話，是指著自己將要怎樣死說的。 34 於是群眾對他說：“我們從律法上知道基督是永遠常存的，你怎麼說‘人子必須被舉起來’呢？這人子是誰呢？” 35 耶穌說：“光在你們中間的時間不多了。你們應當趁著有光的時候行走，免得黑暗追上你們。在黑暗中行走的人，不知道往哪裡去。 36 你們應當趁著有光的時候信從這光，使你們成為光明的兒女。”
主的道要審判不信的人
耶穌說完了這些話，就離開他們隱藏起來。 37 耶穌在他們面前行了許多神蹟，但是他們仍然不信他。 38 這是要應驗以賽亞先知所說的話：
“主啊，我們所傳的，有誰信呢？
主的膀臂向誰顯露呢？”
39 他們不能相信，因為以賽亞又說：
40 “ 神使他們瞎了眼，硬了心，
免得他們眼睛看見，
心裡明白而回轉過來；
我就醫好他們。”
41 以賽亞說這些話，是因為看見了他的榮耀，就指著他說的。 42 雖然這樣，官長當中也有許多人信了耶穌。但是因為法利賽人的緣故，他們不敢公開承認，免得被趕出會堂； 43 因為他們愛來自人的榮耀，過於愛來自 神的榮耀。
44 耶穌大聲說：“信我的，不單是信我，也是信那差我來的。 45 看見我的，就是看見那差我來的。 46 我是光，我到世上來，叫所有信我的不住在黑暗裡。 47 人若聽見我的話卻不遵守的，我不審判他，因為我來不是要審判世人，而是要拯救世人。 48 棄絕我又不接受我的話的人，自有審判他的。我所講的道在末日要定他的罪； 49 因為我沒有憑著自己說話，而是差我來的父給了我命令，要我說甚麼，講甚麼。 50 我知道他的命令就是永生。所以，我所講的，正是父吩咐我要我講的。”

12 逾越節前六天，耶穌來到伯大尼，就是祂叫拉撒路從死裡復活的村子。 2 村裡有人為耶穌預備了晚飯，拉撒路也與耶穌同席，瑪大在旁邊伺候。 3 瑪麗亞拿出一瓶[a]珍貴的純哪噠香膏來抹耶穌的腳，又用自己的頭髮去擦，屋裡頓時充滿了香氣。
4 有一個門徒，就是將要出賣耶穌的加略人猶大說： 5 「為什麼不把香膏賣三百個銀幣[b]去賙濟窮人呢？」 6 他這樣說不是因為他真的關心窮人，其實他是個賊，常常藉管錢的機會中飽私囊。
7 耶穌說：「由她吧！她這是為我安葬作預備。 8 因為你們身邊總會有窮人，可是你們身邊不會總有我。」
9 有許多猶太人知道耶穌在那裡，就來看祂，不單是為了看耶穌，也想看看從死裡復活的拉撒路。 10 於是，祭司長計劃連拉撒路也殺掉， 11 因為有許多猶太人因為拉撒路的緣故離開他們，去信了耶穌。
光榮進聖城
12 第二天，很多上來過節的人聽見耶穌快到耶路撒冷了， 13 就拿著棕樹枝出去迎接祂，並且高聲歡呼：

奉主名來的以色列王當受稱頌！」
14 那時，耶穌找到一頭驢駒，就騎上牠，正如聖經記載：
15 「錫安的居民啊，不要害怕！
你的君王騎著驢駒來了。」
16 起初門徒不明白這些事，後來耶穌得了榮耀，他們才想起聖經上這些有關耶穌的記載果然在祂身上應驗了。 17 那些親眼看見耶穌叫拉撒路復活、走出墳墓的人不斷傳揚這件事。 18 許多聽過耶穌行這神蹟的人都去迎接祂。 19 法利賽人彼此議論說：「我們真是枉費心思！你看，整個世界都跟著祂跑了。」
耶穌預言自己的死
20 有幾個希臘人也上耶路撒冷過節。 21 他們找到了加利利的伯賽大人腓力，請求說：「先生，我們想見見耶穌。」 22 腓力把這件事告訴安得烈，二人去轉告耶穌。
23 耶穌說：「人子得榮耀的時候到了。 24 我實實在在地告訴你們，一粒麥子如果不落在地裡死了，仍是一粒，如果死了，就會結出許多麥粒來。 25 愛惜自己生命的，必會失掉生命；憎惡自己今世生命的，才能保住生命，直到永生。 26 誰要事奉我，就要跟從我。我在哪裡，事奉我的人也要在哪裡。我父必尊重事奉我的人。
27 「我現在心裡憂傷，說什麼才好呢？求父救我離開這個時刻嗎？然而，我原是為這個時刻來的。 28 父啊！願你使自己的名得榮耀！」
當時天上有聲音說：「我已使自己的名得了榮耀，並且還要得榮耀。」
29 站在那裡的人群中有人聽見就說：「打雷了！」也有人說：「是天使在跟祂說話。」
30 耶穌說：「這聲音不是為我發出的，是為你們發出的。 31 現在是這世界受審判的時候，世界的王[d]要被趕出去了。 32 至於我，當我從地上被舉起來時，必吸引萬人歸向我。」 33 耶穌這句話指的是祂會怎樣死。
34 眾人問：「我們從律法書上知道，基督是永遠長存的，你怎麼說『人子要被舉起來』呢？這人子是誰呢？」
35 耶穌對他們說：「光在你們中間照耀的時候不多了，你們要趁著有光的時候走路，免得黑暗來臨後，走在黑暗裡的人不知道要往哪裡去。 36 所以你們當趁著有光的時候信從光，好成為光明的兒女。」
耶穌說完後，便離開他們，隱藏起來。
猶太人不信祂
37 耶穌雖然在他們面前行了許多神蹟，他們還是不信祂。 38 這是要應驗以賽亞先知的話：
「主啊，誰相信我們所傳的呢？主的能力[e]向誰顯現呢？」
39 接著，以賽亞又說出他們不能信的緣故：
40 「主使他們眼瞎、心硬，
免得他們眼睛看見，
心裡明白，回心轉意，
就得到我的醫治。」
41 以賽亞看見了祂的榮耀，所以才這樣說。 42 雖然這樣，仍有很多猶太的官員信了耶穌，只是在法利賽人面前不敢公開承認，因為害怕會被趕出會堂。 43 因為他們愛從世人而來的榮耀，勝過愛從上帝而來的榮耀。
耶穌的道要審判人
44 耶穌高聲說：「信我的，其實不只是信我，而是信差我來的那位。 45 人看見了我，就是看見了差我來的那位。 46 我來是要作世界的光，好叫信我的人脫離黑暗。 47 聽了我的話卻不遵守的人，我不審判他，因為我來不是要審判世人，而是要拯救世人。 48 棄絕我、不接受我話的人將受到審判，我講過的道在末日要審判他， 49 因為我不是憑自己講的，我說什麼、講什麼都是差我來的父吩咐的。 50 我知道祂的命令能帶來永生。所以祂怎麼告訴我，我就怎麼說。」

María unge a Jesús en Betania
12 Seis días antes de la Pascua llegó Jesús a Betania, donde vivía Lázaro, a quien Jesús había resucitado. 2 Allí se dio una cena en honor de Jesús. Marta servía, y Lázaro era uno de los que estaban a la mesa con él. 3 María tomó entonces como medio litro de nardo puro, que era un perfume muy caro, y lo derramó sobre los pies de Jesús, secándoselos luego con sus cabellos. Y la casa se llenó de la fragancia del perfume.
4 Judas Iscariote, que era uno de sus discípulos y que más tarde lo traicionaría, objetó:
5 ―¿Por qué no se vendió este perfume, que vale muchísimo dinero,[a] para dárselo a los pobres?
6 Dijo esto no porque se interesara por los pobres, sino porque era un ladrón y, como tenía a su cargo la bolsa del dinero, acostumbraba a robar lo que echaban en ella.
7 ―Déjala en paz —respondió Jesús—. Ella ha estado guardando este perfume para el día de mi sepultura.[b] 8 A los pobres siempre los tendréis con vosotros, pero a mí no siempre me tendréis.
9 Mientras tanto, muchos de los judíos se enteraron de que Jesús estaba allí, y fueron a ver no solo a Jesús, sino también a Lázaro, a quien Jesús había resucitado. 10 Entonces los jefes de los sacerdotes resolvieron matar también a Lázaro, 11 pues por su causa muchos se apartaban de los judíos y creían en Jesús.
La entrada triunfal(A)
12 Al día siguiente muchos de los que habían ido a la fiesta se enteraron de que Jesús se dirigía a Jerusalén; 13 tomaron ramas de palma y salieron a recibirlo, diciendo a voz en grito:
―¡Hosanna![c]
―¡Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor![d]
―¡Bendito el Rey de Israel!
14 Jesús encontró un burrito y se montó en él, como dice la Escritura:
15 «No temas, oh hija de Sión;
mira, que aquí viene tu rey,
montado sobre un burrito».[e]
16 Al principio, sus discípulos no entendieron lo que sucedía. Solo después de que Jesús fuera glorificado se dieron cuenta de que se había cumplido en él lo que de él ya estaba escrito.
17 La gente que había estado con Jesús cuando llamó a Lázaro del sepulcro y lo resucitó de entre los muertos seguía difundiendo la noticia. 18 Muchos que se habían enterado de la señal realizada por Jesús salían a su encuentro. 19 Por eso los fariseos comentaban entre sí: «Como podéis ver, así no vamos a lograr nada. ¡Mirad cómo lo sigue todo el mundo!»
Jesús predice su muerte
20 Entre los que habían subido a adorar en la fiesta había algunos griegos. 21 Estos se acercaron a Felipe, que era de Betsaida de Galilea, y le pidieron:
―Señor, queremos ver a Jesús.
22 Felipe fue a decírselo a Andrés, y ambos fueron a decírselo a Jesús.
23 ―Ha llegado la hora de que el Hijo del hombre sea glorificado —les contestó Jesús—. 24 Ciertamente os aseguro que, si el grano de trigo no cae en tierra y muere, se queda solo. Pero, si muere, produce mucho fruto. 25 El que se apega a su vida la pierde; en cambio, el que aborrece su vida en este mundo la conserva para la vida eterna. 26 Quien quiera servirme debe seguirme; y donde yo esté, allí también estará mi siervo. A quien me sirva, mi Padre lo honrará.
27 »Ahora todo mi ser está angustiado, ¿y acaso voy a decir: “Padre, sálvame de esta hora difícil”? ¡Si precisamente para afrontarla he venido! 28 ¡Padre, glorifica tu nombre!»
Se oyó entonces, desde el cielo, una voz que decía: «Ya lo he glorificado, y volveré a glorificarlo». 29 La multitud que estaba allí, y que oyó la voz, decía que había sido un trueno; otros decían que un ángel le había hablado.
30 ―Esa voz no vino por mí, sino por vosotros —dijo Jesús—. 31 El juicio de este mundo ha llegado ya, y el príncipe de este mundo va a ser expulsado. 32 Pero yo, cuando sea levantado de la tierra, atraeré a todos a mí mismo.
33 Con esto daba Jesús a entender de qué manera iba a morir.
34 ―De la ley hemos sabido —le respondió la gente— que el Cristo permanecerá para siempre; ¿cómo, pues, dices que el Hijo del hombre tiene que ser levantado? ¿Quién es ese Hijo del hombre?
35 ―Solo tendréis la luz un poco más de tiempo —les dijo Jesús—. Caminad mientras tengáis la luz, antes de que os envuelvan las tinieblas. El que camina en las tinieblas no sabe a dónde va. 36 Mientras tengáis la luz, creed en ella, para que seáis hijos de la luz.
Cuando terminó de hablar, Jesús se fue y se escondió de ellos.
Los judíos siguen en su incredulidad
37 A pesar de haber hecho Jesús todas estas señales en presencia de ellos, todavía no creían en él. 38 Así se cumplió lo dicho por el profeta Isaías:
«Señor, ¿quién ha creído a nuestro mensaje,
y a quién se le ha revelado el poder del Señor?»[f]
39 Por eso no podían creer, pues también había dicho Isaías:
40 «Les ha cegado los ojos
y endurecido el corazón,
para que no vean con los ojos,
ni entiendan con el corazón
ni se conviertan; y yo los sane».[g]
41 Esto lo dijo Isaías porque vio la gloria de Jesús y habló de él.
42 Sin embargo, muchos de ellos, incluso muchos de los jefes, creyeron en él, pero no lo confesaban porque temían que los fariseos los expulsaran de la sinagoga. 43 Preferían recibir honores de los hombres antes que de parte de Dios.
44 «El que cree en mí —clamó Jesús con voz fuerte—, cree no solo en mí, sino en el que me envió. 45 Y el que me ve a mí ve al que me envió. 46 Yo soy la luz que ha venido al mundo, para que todo el que crea en mí no viva en tinieblas.
47 »Si alguno escucha mis palabras, pero no las obedece, no seré yo quien lo juzgue; pues no vine a juzgar al mundo, sino a salvarlo. 48 El que me rechaza y no acepta mis palabras tiene quien lo juzgue. La palabra que yo he proclamado lo condenará en el día final. 49 Yo no he hablado por mi propia cuenta; el Padre que me envió me encargó qué decir y cómo decirlo. 50 Y sé muy bien que su mandato es vida eterna. Así que todo lo que digo es lo que el Padre me ha ordenado decir».

12 Six days before the Passover Feast Jesus came to Bethany where Lazarus lived. This was the Lazarus that Jesus had raised from death.
2 The people made supper for Jesus. Martha helped give food for the people, and Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Jesus.
3 Mary had a jar of oil. It smelled very nice and cost much money. She put some of it on Jesus' feet. Then she wiped his feet with her hair. The smell of oil went all through the house.
4 Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, was there. He was one of the disciples, the one who was going to give Jesus over to the people who hated him.
5 He said, `This oil is worth a year's wages! Why did we not sell it and give the money to poor people?'
6 Judas did not say this because he cared for poor people. But he used to steal. He carried the disciples' money bag and he used to take money out of the bag for himself.
7 Then Jesus said, `Leave her alone. She has kept this oil for the time when they will bury me.
8 You will have poor people with you always. But you will not always have me with you.'
9 Many of the Jews knew that Jesus was at Bethany. So they came because Jesus was there. But they also came to see Lazarus, whom Jesus had raised from death.
10 The chief priests planned to kill Lazarus also.
11 Many of the Jews left the priests and believed in Jesus, because of Lazarus.
12 The next day Jesus went to Jerusalem. Many people who were at the feast heard that he was coming.
13 So they took branches of palm trees and went to meet him. They shouted, `Praise God! God bless the King of Israel! He is coming in the name of the Lord!'
14 Then Jesus found a young donkey and rode on it. He did as the holy writings say,
15 `Do not fear, people of Jerusalem. Your King is coming. He will be riding on a young donkey.'
16 His disciples did not understand this at first. But when God had made Jesus great, then they remembered what the holy writings said about him. They remembered that people had done these things to him.
17 Many people were with Jesus when he called Lazarus out of the grave and raised him from death. They had talked about what he did.
18 That is why many people went out to meet Jesus. They had heard about the big work he did.
19 The Pharisees said to each other, `See, you cannot stop this thing. People everywhere are going after him.'
20 Some of the people who came to worship God at the feast were Greek people.
21 They came to Philip who was from Bethsaida in Galilee. They said, `Sir, we want to see Jesus.'
22 Philip came to Andrew and told him. Then they both went and told Jesus.
23 Jesus said, `The time has come when the Son of Man will be made great.
24 I tell you the truth. If a seed of grain is not put in the ground to die, it will be only a seed. But if it dies, it will bear many seeds.
25 Anyone who tries to keep his life will lose it. Anyone who gives up his life in this world will live for ever in the next world.
26 If anyone wants to do my work, he must go where I go. Then he and I will be together. My Father will honour everyone who works for me.
27 `Now my heart is very sad. Shall I say, "Father, save me from this time of trouble"? No, I have come to this time just so that I might go through it.
28 Father, do what will make your name great.' Then a voice from the sky said, `I have already done that and I will do it again.'
29 Some people were standing near. When they heard the voice, they said, `It is thundering.' Other people said, `An angel talked to him.'
30 Jesus answered them, `This voice did not come for my sake, but it came for your sake.
31 It is time now for the world to be judged. The ruler of this world will be put out.
32 And as for me, if they lift me up from the earth, I will draw all people to me.'
33 He said this to show how he would die.
34 The people answered him, `Our law book tells us that Christ will stay here for ever. Why do you say, "The Son of Man will be raised up from the earth"? Tell us who this Son of Man is.'
35 Then Jesus said to them, `You have light for a short time longer. Walk while you have the light so that you will not need to walk in the dark. The person who walks in the dark cannot see where he is going.
36 Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may be a people who have the light in you.' When Jesus had said this, he left them. They did not know where he was.
37 Even though they had seen Jesus doing many big works, they did not believe in him.
38 What the prophet Isaiah said came true. He said, `Lord, who has believed what we told them? Who has believed even though they have seen the power of God's hand?'
40 So they could not believe. Isaiah said also, `God has made them blind. Their hearts have no feeling. They cannot see. They do not understand with their heart. They will not turn to God. If they did turn, he would heal them.'
41 Isaiah said this about the Christ when he saw how great he was.
42 Some of the chief rulers believed in Jesus, but they did not tell anyone that they believed in him. They were afraid the Pharisees would put them out of the meeting place.
43 They wanted the praise of men more than the praise of God.
44 Jesus called out, `Anyone who believes in me does not believe just in me, but in the one who sent me.
45 Anyone who sees me sees the one who sent me.
46 I am a light and have come into the world. Anyone who believes in me will not be in the dark.
47 If anyone hears what I say and does not believe it, I do not judge him. I did not come to judge the world. I came to save the world.
48 The one who will not believe in me and will not listen to what I say will be judged anyway. The same things that I have said will judge him on the last day.
49 `I have not said this from my own mind, but my Father who sent me told me what to say. He told me what to tell you.
50 I know that what he told me to say has power to give life for ever. So I say everything my Father has told me to say.'
