耶穌的禱告
17 耶穌說完後，就抬頭望著天說：「父啊！時候到了，願你使你的兒子得榮耀，好讓你的兒子也使你得榮耀。 2 因為你把管理世人的權柄賜給了祂，使祂可以將永生賜予你交託給祂的人。 3 這永生就是，認識你——獨一的真神，並且認識你所差來的耶穌基督。 4 我已經完成你交給我的工作，使你在地上得了榮耀。 5 父啊，現在讓我和你同享創世以前我們所共有的榮耀吧！
6 「你從世上賜給我的人，我已將你[a]顯明給他們。他們本來屬於你，你將他們賜給了我，他們遵守你的道。 7 如今他們知道，你賜給我的一切都是從你那裡來的， 8 因為我已經把你賜給我的道賜給他們，他們也接受了，並且確實知道我是從你那裡來的，也相信是你差遣了我。
9 「我不為世人祈求，卻為他們祈求，就是為你賜給我的那些人祈求，因為他們屬於你。 10 一切屬於我的都是你的，屬於你的也是我的，我從他們身上得了榮耀。 11 現在我要離開這個世界去你那裡了，他們卻仍然留在世上。聖父啊，求你為了自己的名，就是你賜給我的名而保守他們，使他們像我們一樣合而為一。 12 我和他們在一起的時候，靠著你賜給我的名保守他們，看顧他們。除了那個注定滅亡的人以外，他們一個也沒有滅亡，這是為了應驗聖經上的話。
13 「現在我要去你那裡了，我趁著還在世上的時候這樣說，是要叫他們心裡充滿我的喜樂。 14 我已將你的道賜給他們，世人恨他們，因為他們像我一樣不屬於這個世界。 15 我不求你帶他們離開這個世界，但求你保守他們脫離那惡者。 16 因為他們像我一樣不屬於這個世界。 17 求你用真理，就是你的道，使他們聖潔。 18 你怎樣差我到世上來，我也照樣差他們到世人中間。 19 為了他們，我獻上自己，使他們藉著真理可以聖潔。
20 「我不但為這些人祈求，也為那些因他們的話而信我的人祈求， 21 使他們都合而為一，正如父你在我裡面，我在你裡面一樣，並且使他們也在我們裡面，好讓世人相信是你差我來的。 22 我又將你賜給我的榮耀賜給他們，使他們像我們一樣合而為一。 23 我在他們裡面，你在我裡面，好使他們也完完全全地合而為一。這樣，世人便知道我是你差來的，而且知道你愛他們，就像愛我一樣。
24 「父啊！我在哪裡，願你賜給我的人也在哪裡，好讓他們看見你賜給我的榮耀，因為在創世以前你已經愛我了。 25 公義的父啊！世界還未認識你以前，我已經認識你了，這些人也知道是你差我來的。 26 我使他們認識了你的名，我還要使他們更認識你，好讓你對我的愛存在他們裡面，我也在他們裡面。」

Jesus Prays for His Disciples
17 After Jesus finished saying this, he looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your Son, so that the Son may give glory to you. 2 For you gave him authority over all people, so that he might give eternal life to all those you gave him. 3 (A)And eternal life means to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent. 4 I have shown your glory on earth; I have finished the work you gave me to do. 5 Father! Give me glory in your presence now, the same glory I had with you before the world was made.
6 “I have made you known to those you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me. They have obeyed your word, 7 and now they know that everything you gave me comes from you. 8 I gave them the message that you gave me, and they received it; they know that it is true that I came from you, and they believe that you sent me.
9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those you gave me, for they belong to you. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine; and my glory is shown through them. 11 And now I am coming to you; I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world. Holy Father! Keep them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me,[a] so that they may be one just as you and I are one. 12 (B)While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me.[b] I protected them, and not one of them was lost, except the man who was bound to be lost—so that the scripture might come true. 13 And now I am coming to you, and I say these things in the world so that they might have my joy in their hearts in all its fullness. 14 I gave them your message, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 15 I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but I do ask you to keep them safe from the Evil One. 16 Just as I do not belong to the world, they do not belong to the world. 17 Dedicate them to yourself by means of the truth; your word is truth. 18 I sent them into the world, just as you sent me into the world. 19 And for their sake I dedicate myself to you, in order that they, too, may be truly dedicated to you.
20 “I pray not only for them, but also for those who believe in me because of their message. 21 I pray that they may all be one. Father! May they be in us, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they be one, so that the world will believe that you sent me. 22 I gave them the same glory you gave me, so that they may be one, just as you and I are one: 23 I in them and you in me, so that they may be completely one, in order that the world may know that you sent me and that you love them as you love me.
24 “Father! You have given them to me, and I want them to be with me where I am, so that they may see my glory, the glory you gave me; for you loved me before the world was made. 25 Righteous Father! The world does not know you, but I know you, and these know that you sent me. 26 I made you known to them, and I will continue to do so, in order that the love you have for me may be in them, and so that I also may be in them.”
