劝世箴言

22 美名胜过大财，恩宠强如金银。 ²富户穷人在世相遇，都为耶和华所造。 ³通达人见祸藏躲，愚蒙人前往受害。 ⁴敬畏耶和华心存谦卑，就得富有、尊荣、生命为赏赐。 ⁵乖僻人的路上有荆棘和网罗，保守自己生命的必要远离。 ⁶教养孩童，使他走当行的道，就是到老他也不偏离。 ⁷富户管辖穷人，欠债的是债主的仆人。 ⁸撒罪孽的必收灾祸，他逞怒的杖也必废掉。 ⁹眼目慈善的就必蒙福，因他将食物分给穷人。 ¹⁰赶出亵慢人，争端就消除，纷争和羞辱也必止息。 ¹¹喜爱清心的人，因他嘴上的恩言，王必与他为友。 ¹²耶和华的眼目眷顾聪明人，却倾败奸诈人的言语。 ¹³懒惰人说：“外头有狮子，我在街上就必被杀！” ¹⁴淫妇的口为深坑，耶和华所憎恶的必陷在其中。 ¹⁵愚蒙迷住孩童的心，用管教的杖可以远远赶除。 ¹⁶欺压贫穷为要利己的，并送礼于富户的，都必缺乏。

¹⁷你须侧耳听受智慧人的言语，留心领会我的知识。 ¹⁸你若心中存记，嘴上咬定，这便为美。 ¹⁹我今日以此特别指教你，为要使你倚靠耶和华。 ²⁰谋略和知识的美事，我岂没有写给你吗？ ²¹要使你知道真言的实理，你好将真言回复那打发你来的人。

²²贫穷人，你不可因他贫穷就抢夺他的物，也不可在城门口欺压困苦人。 ²³因耶和华必为他辨屈，抢夺他的，耶和华必夺取那人的命。 ²⁴好生气的人，不可与他结交；暴怒的人，不可与他来往。 ²⁵恐怕你效法他的行为，自己就陷在网罗里。 ²⁶不要与人击掌，不要为欠债的作保。 ²⁷你若没有什么偿还，何必使人夺去你睡卧的床呢？ ²⁸你先祖所立的地界，你不可挪移。 ²⁹你看见办事殷勤的人吗？他必站在君王面前，必不站在下贱人面前。

The Value of a Good Name

22 A ^(A)good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
Loving favor rather than silver and gold.

²The ^(B)rich and the poor have this in common,
The ^(C)Lord is the maker of them all.

³A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself,
But the simple pass on and are ^(D)punished.

⁴By humility and the fear of the Lord
Are riches and honor and life.

⁵Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse;
He who guards his soul will be far from them.

⁶^(E)Train up a child in the way he should go,
^[a]And when he is old he will not depart from it.

⁷The ^(F)rich rules over the poor,
And the borrower is servant to the lender.

⁸He who sows iniquity will reap ^(G)sorrow,^[b]
And the rod of his anger will fail.

⁹^(H)He who has a ^[c]generous eye will be ^(I)blessed,
For he gives of his bread to the poor.

¹⁰^(J)Cast out the scoffer, and contention will leave;
Yes, strife and reproach will cease.

¹¹^(K)He who loves purity of heart
And has grace on his lips,
The king will be his friend.

¹²The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge,
But He overthrows the words of the faithless.

¹³^(L)The lazy man says, “There is a lion outside!
I shall be slain in the streets!”

¹⁴^(M)The mouth of an immoral woman is a deep pit;
^(N)He who is abhorred by the Lord will fall there.

¹⁵Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child;
^(O)The rod of correction will drive it far from him.

¹⁶He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches,
And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.

¹⁷Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise,
And apply your heart to my knowledge;
¹⁸For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you;
Let them all be fixed upon your lips,
¹⁹So that your trust may be in the Lord;
I have instructed you today, even you.
²⁰Have I not written to you excellent things
Of counsels and knowledge,
²¹^(P)That I may make you know the certainty of the words of truth,
^(Q)That you may answer words of truth
To those who ^[d]send to you?

²²Do not rob the ^(R)poor because he is poor,
Nor oppress the afflicted at the gate;
²³^(S)For the Lord will plead their cause,
And plunder the soul of those who plunder them.

²⁴Make no friendship with an angry man,
And with a ^(T)furious man do not go,
²⁵Lest you learn his ways
And set a snare for your soul.

²⁶^(U)Do not be one of those who ^[e]shakes hands in a pledge,
One of those who is ^[f]surety for debts;
²⁷If you have nothing with which to pay,
Why should he take away your bed from under you?

Which your fathers have set.

He will stand before kings;
