以色列人发怨言

11 民众因为困难而发怨言，传到耶和华耳中。耶和华听见后便向他们发怒，使火在他们中间燃烧，烧毁了营地的边缘部分。 2 民众呼求摩西，摩西便向耶和华祷告，火就熄了。 3 那地方叫他备拉，因为耶和华的火曾在他们中间燃烧。

4 他们中间有一群乌合之众贪恋从前的食物，以色列人也哭着说：“要是有肉吃多好啊！ 5 还记得在埃及的时候，我们不花钱就可以吃鱼，还有黄瓜、西瓜、韭菜、葱和蒜。 6 我们现在毫无胃口，眼前除了吗哪外，什么都没有。” 7 吗哪的形状像芫荽籽，又像珍珠。 8-9 每天晚上露水降在营地上时，吗哪也随着降下来。早晨民众到四周捡吗哪，把吗哪磨碎或捣碎后，放在锅里煮，再做成饼，味道就像油饼。 10 听见民众都在自己帐篷门口哭泣，惹耶和华发怒，摩西感到难过， 11 就对耶和华说：“你为什么为难仆人？我做了什么令你不悦的事，你竟把管理这些民众的重担放在我身上？ 12 难道他们是我的骨肉，是我生的吗？为什么你要我像父亲呵护儿子一样，把他们抱到你应许给他们祖先的地方呢？ 13 他们都哭着向我要肉吃，我去哪里找肉给他们吃呢？ 14 管理民众的责任实在是太重了，我一个人担当不起啊！ 15 你既然这样对待我，求你施恩杀了我吧，别让我受苦了！”

16 耶和华对摩西说：“你给我招聚七十个以色列人的长老——你所了解的首领，把他们带到会幕，让他们站在你身边。 17 我要在那里降临，对你说话，把降在你身上的灵也赐给他们，让他们为你分担管理民众的责任，免得你独自承担。 18 你要叫民众洁净自己，到明天就会有肉吃。因为我听见了他们哭着要肉吃、说埃及的日子更好，我必给他们肉吃。 19 他们将不止吃一天、两天、五天、十天或二十天， 20 而是要吃整整一个月，直到肉从他们鼻孔里喷出来，令他们厌腻。因为他们厌弃我，在我面前哭诉，后悔离开埃及。” 21 摩西说：“和我同行的，仅男子就有六十万，你还说要让他们吃整整一个月的肉！ 22 就是把牛羊都宰了，把海里的鱼都捕来，恐怕也不够他们吃！” 23 耶和华说：“难道我的臂膀能力不够吗？你很快将看见我的话会不会应验。”

24 摩西就出去把耶和华的话转告民众，又选了七十位长老，叫他们站在会幕周围。 25 耶和华在云中降临，对摩西说话，把降在摩西身上的灵也赐给七十位长老。灵一降在他们身上，他们就说起预言来，但只说了这一次。 26 七十位长老中的伊利达和米达没有到会幕去，但耶和华的灵也降在他们身上，他们就在营中说起预言来。 27 有一个青年跑去禀告摩西说：“伊利达和米达正在营中说预言。” 28 摩西拣选的助手——嫩的儿子约书亚就说：“我主摩西，请你禁止他们。” 29 摩西说：“你是怕我的权威受影响吗？愿耶和华的子民都成为先知！愿耶和华把祂的灵降在他们身上！” 30 之后，摩西和以色列的长老都返回营中。

耶和华赐下鹌鹑

31 耶和华刮起一阵风，把鹌鹑从海面刮到营地四周，达一米之厚，方圆数公里。 32 民众花了两天一夜的时间去捕捉鹌鹑，每人至少捉了一吨。他们把鹌鹑摊在营地的周围。 33 他们口中的肉还没嚼烂，耶和华的怒气就已向他们发作，降下了大灾。 34 因此，那地方叫基博罗·哈他瓦[a]，因为那些贪食者埋葬在那里。 35 民众从基博罗·哈他瓦前往哈洗录，在哈洗录住了下来。

Het volk klaagt over het manna

11 Maar het volk begon te mopperen en te klagen. De Heer hoorde het en werd er vreselijk boos over. Hij liet een grote brand ontstaan aan de rand van het tentenkamp. 2 Het volk schreeuwde Mozes om hulp en Mozes bad tot de Heer. Toen doofde het vuur. 3 Daarom noemden ze die plaats Tabera (= 'brand'), omdat daar het vuur van de Heer had gebrand.

4 De vreemdelingen die met hen uit Egypte meegereisd waren, begonnen terug te verlangen naar Egypte. Toen gingen ook de Israëlieten weer mopperen en klagen: "Hadden we maar vlees te eten! 5 En weet je nog hoeveel vis we in Egypte zomaar konden eten! En wat hadden we een lekkere komkommers en meloenen, preien, uien en knoflook! 6 Maar nu drogen we uit. Er is helemaal niets te eten. We hebben alleen maar dat manna."[a]

7 Het manna smaakte naar korianderzaad en had de kleur van balsemhars. 8 Het volk ging het elke dag verzamelen. Daarna maalden ze het of stampten ze het fijn. Daarna kookten ze het en maakten er koeken van, die naar oliekoeken smaakten. 9 Telkens wanneer 's nachts de dauw op het tentenkamp neerkwam, kwam ook het manna op het kamp neer.

10 Mozes hoorde hoe de mensen bij hun tenten klaagden. En de Heer werd vreselijk boos. Ook Mozes vond het verkeerd dat ze zo klaagden. 11 Hij zei tegen de Heer: "Waarom maakt U het mij toch zo moeilijk? Waarom doet U mij dit aan? Waarom moet ík voor dit volk zorgen? 12 Is dit hele volk soms míjn kind? Is het soms uit míj geboren? Want U zegt tegen mij: 'Draag dit volk en zorg voor dit volk, zoals een moeder voor haar baby zorgt.' Waarom moet ík het naar het land brengen dat U aan hun voorvaders Abraham, Izaäk en Jakob heeft beloofd? 13 Ze zeuren aldoor bij mij om vlees! Maar waar moet ik vlees vandaan halen voor zoveel mensen? 14 Ik kan het niet aan om in mijn eentje voor dit volk te zorgen. Het is te moeilijk! 15 Als ik het alleen moet doen, heb ik liever dat U mij doodt. Dan ben ik van al die ellende af!"

De zeventig leiders

16 Toen zei de Heer tegen Mozes: "Breng 70 mannen uit dit volk bij Mij. Mannen van wie je weet dat zij leiders zijn onder het volk. Breng hen naar de tent van ontmoeting. Daar moeten ze bij jou gaan staan. 17 Dan zal Ik naar beneden komen en daar met je spreken. En een deel van de Geest die op jou is, zal Ik ook op hen leggen. Dan kunnen zij samen met jou voor dit volk zorgen. Dan hoef je het niet meer alleen te doen. 18 En zeg tegen het volk: Maak je klaar om morgen de Heer te ontmoeten. Dan zullen jullie vlees te eten hebben. Jullie hebben immers tegen de Heer gejammerd: 'We willen zo graag vlees eten! In Egypte hadden we het zo goed!' De Heer zal jullie vlees geven en jullie zullen het eten. 19 Jullie zullen het niet één dag eten, geen twee dagen, geen vijf dagen, geen tien dagen en geen 20 dagen, maar een hele maand lang. 20 Tot het jullie de neus uitkomt en jullie ervan walgen. Want jullie hebben geen zin gehad om de Heer die bij jullie woont, te vertrouwen. Want jullie hebben tegen Hem gejammerd: 'Waarom zijn we eigenlijk uit Egypte vertrokken?' " 21 Maar Mozes antwoordde: "Heer, dit volk bestaat uit 600.000 mensen! Hoe kunt U dan zeggen dat U hun zoveel vlees zal geven dat ze er een hele maand van kunnen eten? 22 Kunnen er dan zoveel schapen en koeien worden geslacht dat ze er genoeg van kunnen eten? Kunnen we soms alle vissen uit de zee verzamelen zodat ze genoeg te eten zullen hebben?" 23 Maar de Heer zei tegen Mozes: "Zou Ik niet machtig genoeg zijn? Jullie zullen zien of Ik wel of niet kan doen wat Ik heb gezegd!"

24 Mozes ging naar buiten en vertelde het volk wat de Heer tegen hem had gezegd. Hij verzamelde 70 mannen uit de leiders van het volk. Hij zei tegen hen dat ze rondom de tent moesten komen staan. 25 Toen kwam de Heer in de wolk naar beneden en sprak met Mozes. En Hij nam een deel van de Geest die op Mozes was en legde die op de 70 leiders. Toen de Geest op hen kwam, profeteerden zij. Maar daarna niet meer.

26 Twee mannen die wel waren uitgekozen om bij de 70 mannen te horen, waren niet naar de tent van ontmoeting gekomen. Ze waren in het kamp gebleven. De ene heette Eldad, de ander Medad. Toen de Geest op de leiders kwam, kwam Hij ook op hen. Ze profeteerden in het tentenkamp. 27 Een jonge man rende naar Mozes en zei hem: "Eldad en Medad zijn in het tentenkamp aan het profeteren!" 28 Jozua, de zoon van Nun, één van de jonge mannen die Mozes dienden, antwoordde: "Mijn heer Mozes, verbied hun dat!" 29 Maar Mozes zei tegen hem: "Wil je het voor mij opnemen? Maar ik zou wel willen dat de Heer met zijn Geest álle mensen van dit volk liet profeteren!" 30 En Mozes ging met de leiders terug naar het tentenkamp.

De vogels komen

31 Toen zorgde de Heer ervoor dat het ging waaien. De wind bracht kwartels mee uit de richting van de zee. De vogels streken neer in het hele tentenkamp. Ze lagen tot een dagreis ver rond het kamp, in een laag van ongeveer 2 el (90 cm) dik. 32 Die hele dag en de hele nacht en de hele volgende dag waren de mensen bezig om de vogels te verzamelen. De man die het minste had verzameld, had nog altijd 10 homer (2200 liter).[b] Ze spreidden de vogels uit rond het tentenkamp om het vlees te drogen. 33 Maar toen ze ervan aten en het vlees nog tussen hun tanden hadden, werd de Heer vreselijk boos. Hij strafte hen, nog vóórdat ze het vlees doorgeslikt hadden. Hij doodde heel veel mensen omdat ze zo zaten te schrokken. 34 Daarom noemden ze die plaats Kibrot-Taäva (= 'graven van de schrokkers'), omdat ze daar de mensen begroeven die zo hadden zitten schrokken.

35 Van Kibrot-Taäva trok het volk naar Hazerot. Daar zetten ze hun tenten op.

The People Complain

11 Now the people became like (A)those who complain of adversity (B)in the ears of the Lord; and the Lord heard them and His anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some at the outskirts of the camp. 2 (C)The people then cried out to Moses; and Moses prayed to the Lord, and the fire [a]died out. 3 So that place was named [b](D)Taberah, because the fire of the Lord burned among them.

4 Now the (E)rabble who were among them [c]had greedy cravings; and the sons of Israel also wept again and said, “(F)Who will give us [d]meat to eat? 5 (G)We remember the fish which we used to eat for free in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; 6 but now (H)our [e]appetite is gone. There is nothing at all [f]to look at except this manna!”

7 (I)Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like that of [g](J)bdellium. 8 The people would roam about and gather it and grind it [h]between two millstones, or pound it in the mortar, and boil it in the pot and make loaves with it; and its taste was like the taste of [i]cake baked with oil. 9 (K)When the dew came down on the camp at night, the manna would come down [j]with it.

The Complaint of Moses

10 Now Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, each one at the entrance of his tent; and the anger of the Lord became very hot, and [k]Moses was displeased. 11 (L)So Moses said to the Lord, “Why have You [l]been so hard on Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have put the burden of all this people on me? 12 Was it I who conceived all this people? Or did I give birth to them, that You should say to me, ‘Carry them [m]in your arms, as a [n](M)nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which (N)You swore to their fathers’? 13 Where am I to get meat to give to (O)all this people? For they weep before me, saying, ‘Give us meat so that we may eat!’ 14 (P)I am not able to carry all this people by myself, because it is too [o]burdensome for me. 15 (Q)So if You are going to deal with me this way, please kill me now, if I have found favor in Your sight, and do not let me see my misery.”

Seventy Elders to Assist Moses

16 The Lord therefore said to Moses, “Gather for Me (R)seventy men from the elders of Israel, (S)whom you know to be the elders of the people and their officers, and bring them to the tent of meeting, and have them take their stand there with you. 17 (T)Then I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take away some of (U)the Spirit who is upon you, and put Him upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, so that you will not bear it by yourself. 18 And you shall say to the people, ‘(V)Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept (W)in the ears of the Lord, saying, “[p]Oh that someone would give us meat to eat! For we were well-off in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat and you shall eat. 19 You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days, 20 [q]but for a whole month, until it comes out of your nose and [r]makes you nauseated; because (X)you have rejected the Lord who is among you and have wept before Him, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?”’” 21 But Moses said, “The people, among whom I am included, are six hundred thousand on foot! Yet You have said, ‘I will give them meat, so that they may eat for a whole month.’ 22 Are flocks and herds to be slaughtered for them, so that it will be sufficient for them? Or are all the fish of the sea to be [s]caught for them, so that it will be sufficient for them?” 23 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Is (Y)the Lord’s [t]power too little? Now you shall see whether (Z)My word will [u]come true for you or not.”

24 So Moses went out and (AA)told the people the words of the Lord. He also gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and positioned them around the tent. 25 (AB)Then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke to him; and He took away some of the Spirit who was upon him and placed Him upon the seventy elders. And when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied. Yet they did not do it again.

26 But two men had remained in the camp; the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the [v]other, Medad. And (AC)the Spirit rested upon them (and they were among those who had been registered, but had not gone out to the tent), and they prophesied in the camp. 27 So a young man ran and informed Moses, and said, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.” 28 Then (AD)Joshua the son of Nun, the personal servant of Moses from his youth, responded and said, “(AE)My lord Moses, restrain them!” 29 But Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? (AF)If only all the Lord’s people were prophets, that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!” 30 Then Moses [w]returned to the camp, both he and the elders of Israel.

The Quail and the Plague

31 (AG)Now a wind burst forth from the Lord and it brought quail from the sea, and dropped them beside the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and a day’s journey on the other side all around the camp, and about [x]two cubits deep on the surface of the ground. 32 And the people [y]spent all that day, all night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quail (the one who gathered least gathered [z]ten (AH)homers) and spread them out for themselves all around the camp. 33 (AI)While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very severe plague. 34 So that place was named [aa](AJ)Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had been greedy. 35 From Kibroth-hattaavah (AK)the people set out for Hazeroth, and they [ab]remained at Hazeroth.

Fire From the Lord

11 Now the people complained(A) about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord,(B) and when he heard them his anger was aroused.(C) Then fire from the Lord burned among them(D) and consumed(E) some of the outskirts of the camp. 2 When the people cried out to Moses, he prayed(F) to the Lord(G) and the fire died down. 3 So that place was called Taberah,[a](H) because fire from the Lord had burned among them.(I)

Quail From the Lord

4 The rabble with them began to crave other food,(J) and again the Israelites started wailing(K) and said, “If only we had meat to eat! 5 We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost—also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.(L) 6 But now we have lost our appetite; we never see anything but this manna!(M)”

7 The manna was like coriander seed(N) and looked like resin.(O) 8 The people went around gathering it,(P) and then ground it in a hand mill or crushed it in a mortar. They cooked it in a pot or made it into loaves. And it tasted like something made with olive oil. 9 When the dew(Q) settled on the camp at night, the manna also came down.

10 Moses heard the people of every family wailing(R) at the entrance to their tents. The Lord became exceedingly angry, and Moses was troubled. 11 He asked the Lord, “Why have you brought this trouble(S) on your servant? What have I done to displease you that you put the burden of all these people on me?(T) 12 Did I conceive all these people? Did I give them birth? Why do you tell me to carry them in my arms, as a nurse carries an infant,(U) to the land you promised on oath(V) to their ancestors?(W) 13 Where can I get meat for all these people?(X) They keep wailing to me, ‘Give us meat to eat!’ 14 I cannot carry all these people by myself; the burden is too heavy for me.(Y) 15 If this is how you are going to treat me, please go ahead and kill me(Z)—if I have found favor in your eyes—and do not let me face my own ruin.”

16 The Lord said to Moses: “Bring me seventy of Israel’s elders(AA) who are known to you as leaders and officials among the people.(AB) Have them come to the tent of meeting,(AC) that they may stand there with you. 17 I will come down and speak with you(AD) there, and I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them.(AE) They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone.(AF)

18 “Tell the people: ‘Consecrate yourselves(AG) in preparation for tomorrow, when you will eat meat. The Lord heard you when you wailed,(AH) “If only we had meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!”(AI) Now the Lord will give you meat,(AJ) and you will eat it. 19 You will not eat it for just one day, or two days, or five, ten or twenty days, 20 but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and you loathe it(AK)—because you have rejected the Lord,(AL) who is among you, and have wailed before him, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?”’”(AM)

21 But Moses said, “Here I am among six hundred thousand men(AN) on foot, and you say, ‘I will give them meat to eat for a whole month!’ 22 Would they have enough if flocks and herds were slaughtered for them? Would they have enough if all the fish in the sea were caught for them?”(AO)

23 The Lord answered Moses, “Is the Lord’s arm too short?(AP) Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you.(AQ)”

24 So Moses went out and told the people what the Lord had said. He brought together seventy of their elders and had them stand around the tent. 25 Then the Lord came down in the cloud(AR) and spoke with him,(AS) and he took some of the power of the Spirit(AT) that was on him and put it on the seventy elders.(AU) When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied(AV)—but did not do so again.

26 However, two men, whose names were Eldad and Medad, had remained in the camp. They were listed among the elders, but did not go out to the tent. Yet the Spirit also rested on them,(AW) and they prophesied in the camp. 27 A young man ran and told Moses, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”

28 Joshua son of Nun,(AX) who had been Moses’ aide(AY) since youth, spoke up and said, “Moses, my lord, stop them!”(AZ)

29 But Moses replied, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets(BA) and that the Lord would put his Spirit(BB) on them!”(BC) 30 Then Moses and the elders of Israel returned to the camp.

31 Now a wind went out from the Lord and drove quail(BD) in from the sea. It scattered them up to two cubits[b] deep all around the camp, as far as a day’s walk in any direction. 32 All that day and night and all the next day the people went out and gathered quail. No one gathered less than ten homers.[c] Then they spread them out all around the camp. 33 But while the meat was still between their teeth(BE) and before it could be consumed, the anger(BF) of the Lord burned against the people, and he struck them with a severe plague.(BG) 34 Therefore the place was named Kibroth Hattaavah,[d](BH) because there they buried the people who had craved other food.

35 From Kibroth Hattaavah the people traveled to Hazeroth(BI) and stayed there.

Gud sänder eld över folket

11 Folket började snart klaga över alla svårigheter de mötte under vägen och Herren hörde dem. Han blev förargad på dem för att de klagade ochi sin vrede sände han en eld och utplånade delar av lägrets ytterområden.

2 Då ropade de till Mose om hjälp, och när han bad för dem, upphörde elden.

3 Efter detta blev platsen känd under namnet Tabeera, som betyder brand, eftersom Herrens eld hade brunnit bland dem.

Folket klagar och Gud ger dem kött

4-5 Då började främlingarna bland dem att längta efter det goda som fanns i Egypten. Detta ökade missnöjet också bland Israels folk, och de suckade och klagade: Om vi ändå hade lite kött att äta! Tänk om vi hade lite av den goda fisk som vi fick i Egypten. Och minns ni de goda gurkorna och melonerna, purjolöken, rödlöken och vitlöken?

6 Vi tappar matlusten av att behöva äta manna varenda dag, både morgon och kväll!

7 Mannat liknade korianderfrö och påminde om kåda.

8 Folket samlade det från marken och malde det till mjöl eller krossade det i mortlar. Sedan kokade de det eller gräddade kakor av det, och det smakade som om det var tillagat med olivolja.

9 Mannat föll om natten samtidigt med daggen.

10 Mose hörde hur familjerna stod i sina tältöppningar och grät. Herrens vrede blev allt större, och Mose blev själv mycket illa till mods.

11 Då sa Mose till Herren: Vad har jag gjort för ont eftersom jag måste dras med detta folk?

12 Inte är de väl mina barn? Inte är det väl jag som är far till dem? Varför har du låtit mig bli som en dadda för dem tills vi kommer till det land du lovade deras förfäder?

13 Var ska jag kunna få tag i kött åt alla dessa människor? De gråter ju och säger till mig: Ge oss kött!

14 Jag kan inte själv bära allt detta! Bördan är alltför tung!

15 Om du tänker behandla mig på det sättet är det lika bra att du tar mitt liv nu på fläcken! Det skulle vara barmhärtigare! Låt mig få slippa det här eländet!

16 Då sa Herren till Mose: Kalla samman sjuttio av ledarna i Israel och för fram dem inför mig vid tabernaklet, så att de står där tillsammans med dig.

17 Jag ska komma ner och tala med er där, och jag ska ta av den Ande som är över dig och låta den komma också över dem. De ska dela bördan av folket med dig, så att inte du ensam behöver ha hela ansvaret.

18 Säg också till folket att rena sig, för i morgon ska de få kött att äta. Säg till dem: Herren har hört er gråt och er klagan över allt som ni varit tvungna att lämna bakom er i Egypten, och han tänker ge er kött. Ni ska äta det,

19-20 inte bara en eller två dagar, eller fem eller tio eller ens tjugo! I en hel månad ska ni få kött tills ni får avsmak för det och spyr ut det genom näsan, för ni har förkastat Herren som finns här bland er, och ni har gråtit av längtan efter Egypten.

21 Men Mose sa: Här finns det 600.000 män förutom alla kvinnor och barn, och ändå har du lovat dem kött i en hel månad.

22 Om vi slaktade all vår boskap skulle det ändå inte räcka! Inte ens all fisk i havet är nog!

23 Då sa Herren till Mose: När skulle jag ha blivit så maktlös? Nu ska du få se om mitt ord är sant eller inte!

24 Mose lämnade sedan tabernaklet och gick ut och berättade för folket vad Herren hade sagt. Han samlade de sjuttio ledarna runt tabernaklet.

25 Herren kom ner i molnet och talade med Mose, och han tog av den Ande som var över Mose och lät den komma över de sjuttio. När Anden kom över dem började de profetera, men det hände bara vid det tillfället.

26 Men två av de sjuttio, Eldad och Medad, hade blivit kvar i lägret, och när Anden kom över dem profeterade de där de stod.

27 Några unga män sprang till Mose och berättade detta.

28 Då protesterade Josua, Nuns son, Moses medhjälpare, och sa: Du måste försöka få dem att sluta!

29-30 Men Mose svarade: Är du avundsjuk för min skull? Jag önskar att allt Herrens folk var profeter och att Herren kunde sända sin Ande över dem alla!30Därefter återvände Mose och ledarna till lägret.

31 Sedan sände Herren en vind som förde med sig vaktlar in från havet och lät dem falla i lägret och runt omkring det! Så långt man kunde gå åt alla håll fanns det vaktlar. De flög strax ovanför marken.

32 Folket fångade dem och slaktade dem hela den dagen och natten och även följande dag! Ingen samlade in mindre än två tusen liter, och det låg vaktlar överallt.

33 Men när folket började äta av köttet upptändes Herrens vrede mot dem, och många dog.

34 Platsen kom att kallas Begärets gravar, därför att det var där de människor begravdes som haft begär efter kött.

35 Folket bröt upp och vandrade vidare till Haserot där de stannade en tid.
