5 Y los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel (porque él era el primogénito, mas como violó el lecho de su padre, sus derechos de primogenitura fueron dados a los hijos de José, hijo de Israel; y no fue contado por primogénito.
2 Porque Judá fue el mayorazgo sobre sus hermanos, y el príncipe de ellos; mas el derecho de primogenitura fue de José).
3 Fueron, pues, los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi.
4 Los hijos de Joel: Semaías su hijo, Gog su hijo, Simei su hijo;
5 Micaía su hijo, Reaía su hijo, Baal su hijo;
6 Beera su hijo, el cual fue transportado por Tiglat-pileser rey de los asirios. Este era príncipe de los rubenitas.
7 Y sus hermanos por sus familias, cuando eran contados en sus descendencias, tenían por príncipes a Jeiel y a Zacarías.
8 Y Bela hijo de Azaz, hijo de Sema, hijo de Joel, habitó en Aroer hasta Nebo y Baal-meón.
9 Habitó también desde el oriente hasta la entrada del desierto desde el río Eufrates; porque sus ganados se habían multiplicado en la tierra de Galaad.
10 Y en los días de Saúl trajeron guerra contra los agarenos (ismaelitas), los cuales cayeron en su mano; y ellos habitaron en sus tiendas sobre toda la parte oriental de Galaad.
11 Y los hijos de Gad habitaron enfrente de ellos en la tierra de Basán hasta Salca.
12 Y la cabeza fue Joel, el segundo Safán, luego Jaanai, y después Safat en Basán.
13 Y sus hermanos, según las familias de sus padres, fueron Micael, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacán, Zía, y Heber; por todos siete.
14 Estos fueron los hijos de Abihail hijo de Huri, hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Jesisai, hijo de Jahdo, hijo de Buz.
15 También Ahí, hijo de Abdiel, hijo de Guni, fue príncipe en la casa de sus padres.
16 Los cuales habitaron en Galaad, en Basán, y en sus aldeas, y en todos los ejidos de Sarón hasta salir de ellos.
17 Todos éstos fueron contados por sus generaciones en días de Jotam rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam rey de Israel.
18 Los hijos de Rubén, y de Gad, y la media tribu de Manasés, hombres valientes, hombres que traían escudo y espada, que entesaban arco, y diestros en la guerra, cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta que salían a batalla.
19 Y tuvieron guerra con los agarenos, Jetur, Nafis, y Nodab.
20 Y fueron ayudados contra ellos, y los agarenos se dieron en sus manos, y todos los que con ellos estaban; porque clamaron a Dios en la guerra, y les fue favorable, porque esperaron en él.
21 Y tomaron sus ganados, cincuenta mil camellos, y doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas, dos mil asnos, y cien mil personas.
22 Y cayeron muchos heridos, porque la guerra era de Dios; y habitaron en sus lugares hasta la transmigración.
23 Y los hijos de la media tribu de Manasés habitaron en la tierra, desde Basán hasta Baal-hermón, Senir y el monte de Hermón, multiplicados en gran manera.
24 Y éstas fueron las cabezas de las casas de sus padres: Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías, y Jahdiel, hombres valientes y de esfuerzo, varones de nombre y cabeceras de las casas de sus padres.
25 Mas se rebelaron contra el Dios de sus padres, y fornicaron siguiendo a los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra, a los cuales el SEÑOR había quitado de delante de ellos.
26 Por lo cual el Dios de Israel despertó el espíritu de Pul rey de los Asirios, y el espíritu de Tiglat-pileser rey de los Asirios, el cual transportó a los rubenitas y gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Halah, a Habor a Ara, y al río de Gozán, hasta hoy.

Historia de las dos tribus y media
18 Los hijos de Rubén y de Gad, y la media tribu de Manasés, hombres valientes, hombres que traían escudo y espada, que entesaban arco, y diestros en la guerra, eran cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta que salían a batalla. 19 Estos tuvieron guerra contra los agarenos, y Jetur, Nafis y Nodab. 20 Y fueron ayudados contra ellos, y los agarenos y todos los que con ellos estaban se rindieron en sus manos; porque clamaron a Dios en la guerra, y les fue favorable, porque esperaron en él. 21 Y tomaron sus ganados, cincuenta mil camellos, doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas y dos mil asnos; y cien mil personas. 22 Y cayeron muchos muertos, porque la guerra era de Dios; y habitaron en sus lugares hasta el cautiverio.
23 Los hijos de la media tribu de Manasés, multiplicados en gran manera, habitaron en la tierra desde Basán hasta Baal-hermón y Senir y el monte de Hermón. 24 Y estos fueron los jefes de las casas de sus padres: Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Jahdiel, hombres valientes y esforzados, varones de nombre y jefes de las casas de sus padres. 25 Pero se rebelaron contra el Dios de sus padres, y se prostituyeron siguiendo a los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra, a los cuales Jehová había quitado de delante de ellos; 26 por lo cual el Dios de Israel excitó el espíritu de Pul(D) rey de los asirios, y el espíritu de Tiglat-pileser(E) rey de los asirios, el cual transportó a los rubenitas y gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Halah, a Habor, a Hara y al río Gozán, hasta hoy.(F)

Descendientes de Rubén
5 Descendencia de Rubén, primogénito de Israel.
Rubén era el primogénito, pero en la genealogía no fue reconocido como tal por haber profanado el lecho de su padre.[a] Su derecho de primogenitura pasó a los hijos de José, hijo de Israel. 2 Y aunque es verdad que Judá fue más poderoso que sus hermanos, y hasta llegó a ser su gobernante, la primogenitura pasó a José. 3 Estos fueron los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel:
Janoc, Falú, Jezrón y Carmí.
4 Los descendientes de Joel en línea directa:
Semaías, Gog,
Simí, 5 Micaías,
Reaías, Baal
6 y Beerá, jefe de los rubenitas. A este último se lo llevó cautivo Tiglat Piléser, rey de Asiria.
7 Estos fueron los parientes de Beerá, según los registros genealógicos de sus familias:
Jeyel el jefe, Zacarías 8 y Bela, hijo de Azaz, hijo de Semá, hijo de Joel.
Bela habitó en Aroer, y su territorio se extendía hasta Nebo y Baal Megón. 9 Por el oriente se extendía hasta el borde del desierto que colinda con el río Éufrates, pues sus ganados aumentaron mucho en la tierra de Galaad.
10 En el tiempo de Saúl le declararon la guerra a los agarenos. Los derrotaron y se establecieron en la región oriental de Galaad.
Descendientes de Gad
11 Estos fueron los hijos de Gad que habitaron frente a los rubenitas en la región de Basán, hasta llegar a Salcá:
12 Joel fue el jefe en Basán; el segundo, Safán; luego, Janay y Safat.
13 Sus parientes, según las familias patriarcales, fueron siete en total:
Micael, Mesulán, Sabá, Joray, Jacán, Zía y Éber.
14 Estos fueron los hijos de Abijaíl, hijo de Jurí, hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Jesisay, hijo de Yadó, hijo de Buz.
15 El jefe de sus familias era Ají, hijo de Abdiel y nieto de Guní.
16 Estos habitaron en Galaad, en Basán y sus aldeas, y en todos los campos de pastoreo de Sarón, hasta sus confines.
17 La genealogía de ellos se registró en el tiempo de Jotán, rey de Judá, y de Jeroboán, rey de Israel.
18 Los rubenitas, los gaditas y los de la media tribu de Manasés contaban con un ejército de cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta hombres valientes, armados de escudo y de espada, hábiles en el manejo del arco y diestros en la guerra. 19 Combatieron a los agarenos y a Jetur, Nafis y Nodab. 20 Y como confiaban en Dios, clamaron a él en medio del combate y él los ayudó a derrotar a los agarenos y a sus aliados. 21 Se apoderaron de su ganado (cincuenta mil camellos, doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas y dos mil burros) y capturaron a cien mil personas, 22 a muchas de las cuales mataron, porque Dios estaba con ellos. En ese lugar habitaron hasta el tiempo del exilio.
La media tribu de Manasés
23 Los hijos de la media tribu de Manasés eran numerosos y se establecieron en el país, desde Basán hasta Baal Hermón, Senir y el monte Hermón.
24 Los jefes de sus familias patriarcales fueron Éfer, Isí, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Yadiel. Todos ellos eran guerreros valientes, hombres importantes y jefes de sus respectivas familias patriarcales. 25 Pero fueron infieles al Dios de sus antepasados, pues se prostituyeron al adorar a los dioses de los pueblos de la región, a los cuales Dios había destruido delante de ellos. 26 Por eso el Dios de Israel incitó contra ellos a Pul, es decir, a Tiglat Piléser, rey de Asiria. Este deportó a los rubenitas, los gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, llevándolos a Jalaj, Jabor, Hará y al río Gozán, donde permanecen hasta hoy.

5 The sons of Reuben(A) the firstborn of Israel (he was the firstborn, but when he defiled his father’s marriage bed,(B) his rights as firstborn were given to the sons of Joseph(C) son of Israel;(D) so he could not be listed in the genealogical record in accordance with his birthright,(E) 2 and though Judah(F) was the strongest of his brothers and a ruler(G) came from him, the rights of the firstborn(H) belonged to Joseph)— 3 the sons of Reuben(I) the firstborn of Israel:
Hanok, Pallu,(J) Hezron(K) and Karmi.
4 The descendants of Joel:
Shemaiah his son, Gog his son,
Shimei his son, 5 Micah his son,
Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
6 and Beerah his son, whom Tiglath-Pileser[a](L) king of Assyria took into exile. Beerah was a leader of the Reubenites.
7 Their relatives by clans,(M) listed according to their genealogical records:
Jeiel the chief, Zechariah, 8 and Bela son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel. They settled in the area from Aroer(N) to Nebo(O) and Baal Meon.(P) 9 To the east they occupied the land up to the edge of the desert that extends to the Euphrates(Q) River, because their livestock had increased in Gilead.(R)
10 During Saul’s reign they waged war against the Hagrites(S), who were defeated at their hands; they occupied the dwellings of the Hagrites throughout the entire region east of Gilead.
Gad
11 The Gadites(T) lived next to them in Bashan, as far as Salekah:(U)
12 Joel was the chief, Shapham the second, then Janai and Shaphat, in Bashan.
13 Their relatives, by families, were:
Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jakan, Zia and Eber—seven in all.
14 These were the sons of Abihail son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz.
15 Ahi son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was head of their family.
16 The Gadites lived in Gilead, in Bashan and its outlying villages, and on all the pasturelands of Sharon as far as they extended.
17 All these were entered in the genealogical records during the reigns of Jotham(V) king of Judah and Jeroboam(W) king of Israel.
18 The Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh had 44,760 men ready for military service(X)—able-bodied men who could handle shield and sword, who could use a bow, and who were trained for battle. 19 They waged war against the Hagrites, Jetur,(Y) Naphish and Nodab. 20 They were helped(Z) in fighting them, and God delivered the Hagrites and all their allies into their hands, because they cried(AA) out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted(AB) in him. 21 They seized the livestock of the Hagrites—fifty thousand camels, two hundred fifty thousand sheep and two thousand donkeys. They also took one hundred thousand people captive, 22 and many others fell slain, because the battle(AC) was God’s. And they occupied the land until the exile.(AD)
The Half-Tribe of Manasseh
23 The people of the half-tribe of Manasseh(AE) were numerous; they settled in the land from Bashan to Baal Hermon, that is, to Senir (Mount Hermon).(AF)
24 These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah and Jahdiel. They were brave warriors, famous men, and heads of their families. 25 But they were unfaithful(AG) to the God of their ancestors and prostituted(AH) themselves to the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them. 26 So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit(AI) of Pul(AJ) king of Assyria (that is, Tiglath-Pileser(AK) king of Assyria), who took the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh into exile. He took them to Halah,(AL) Habor, Hara and the river of Gozan, where they are to this day.

18 The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.
19 And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.
20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
21 And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.
22 For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.
23 And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baalhermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.
24 And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.
25 And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.
