约柜被运到耶路撒冷
15 大卫在大卫城为自己建造宫殿，并为上帝的约柜预备地方，支搭帐篷。 2 大卫说：“除了利未人以外，谁也不可抬上帝的约柜，因为耶和华只拣选他们抬上帝的约柜，永远事奉祂。”
3 大卫召集以色列人到耶路撒冷，要把耶和华的约柜抬到他所预备的地方。 4 大卫又召集了亚伦的子孙和利未人： 5 哥辖的后代乌列族长和他的一百二十个族人； 6 米拉利的后代亚帅雅族长和他的二百二十个族人； 7 革顺的后代约珥族长和他的一百三十个族人； 8 以利撒番的后代示玛雅族长和他的二百个族人； 9 希伯仑的后代以列族长和他的八十个族人； 10 乌薛的后代亚米拿达族长和他的一百一十二个族人。
11 大卫召来撒督和亚比亚他两位祭司以及利未人乌列、亚帅雅、约珥、示玛雅、以列、亚米拿达， 12 对他们说：“你们是利未人的族长，你们和你们的族人都要洁净自己，好将以色列的上帝耶和华的约柜抬到我所预备的地方。 13 先前你们没有抬约柜，我们也没有按规矩求问我们的上帝耶和华，以致祂向我们发怒。” 14 于是祭司和利未人就洁净自己，好将以色列的上帝耶和华的约柜抬上来。 15 利未人按照耶和华借摩西颁布的命令，用杠把上帝的约柜抬在肩上。
16 大卫又吩咐利未人的族长去派他们的族人做歌乐手，伴着琴瑟和钹的乐声欢唱。 17 于是，利未人指派约珥的儿子希幔和他的亲族比利迦的儿子亚萨，以及他的亲族米拉利的后代古沙雅的儿子以探。 18 协助他们的亲族有撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、乌尼、以利押、比拿雅、玛西雅、玛他提雅、以利斐利户、弥克尼雅，以及守门的俄别·以东和耶利。
19 歌乐手希幔、亚萨和以探负责敲铜钹， 20 撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、乌尼、以利押、玛西雅、比拿雅负责鼓瑟，调用高音。 21 玛他提雅、以利斐利户、弥克尼雅、俄别·以东、耶利、亚撒西雅负责带领弹琴，调用低音。 22 利未人的族长基拿尼雅善于歌唱，是歌乐手的领班。 23 比利迦和以利加拿负责看守约柜。 24 祭司示巴尼、约沙法、拿坦业、亚玛赛、撒迦利雅、比拿亚和以利以谢负责在上帝的约柜前吹号，俄别·以东和耶希亚也负责看守约柜。

16 众人将上帝的约柜抬进去，安放在大卫所搭的帐篷里，然后在上帝面前献上燔祭和平安祭。 2 大卫献上燔祭和平安祭后，就奉耶和华的名给民众祝福， 3 又给以色列男女每人一个饼、一块肉和一个葡萄饼。
4 大卫指派一些利未人在耶和华的约柜前事奉，颂扬、称谢和赞美以色列的上帝耶和华。 5 为首的是亚萨，其次是撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、玛他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄别·以东和耶利，他们鼓瑟弹琴，亚萨敲钹。 6 比拿雅和雅哈悉两位祭司在上帝的约柜前吹号。
大卫的颂歌
7 那一天，大卫初次指派亚萨和他的亲族唱诗歌颂耶和华，说：
8 “你们要称谢耶和华，
呼求祂的名，
在列邦传扬祂的作为。
9 要歌颂、赞美祂，
述说祂一切奇妙的作为。
10 要以祂的圣名为荣，
愿寻求耶和华的人都欢欣。
11 要寻求耶和华和祂的能力，
时常来到祂面前。
12-13 祂仆人以色列的后裔啊，
祂所拣选的雅各的子孙啊，
要记住祂所行的神迹奇事和祂口中的判词。
14 “祂是我们的上帝耶和华，
祂在普天下施行审判。
15 你们要永远铭记祂的约，
要思想祂的应许直到千代，
16 就是祂与亚伯拉罕所立的约，
向以撒所起的誓。
17 祂将这约定为律例赐给雅各，
定为永远的约赐给以色列。

23 “普天下都要歌颂耶和华，
要天天传扬祂的救恩；

25 因为耶和华无比伟大，
当受至高的颂扬；
祂超越一切神明，
当受敬畏。
26 列邦的神明都是假的，
唯独耶和华创造了诸天。
27 祂尊贵威严，
祂的圣所充满能力和喜乐。
28 “万族万民啊，
要把荣耀和能力归给耶和华，
归给耶和华！
29 要将耶和华当得的荣耀归给祂，
要将供物献给祂，
要穿上圣洁的衣服敬拜祂。
30 普天下要在祂面前战抖；
祂坚立世界，使它不致摇动。
31 愿天欢喜，愿地快乐；
愿他们向列国宣告，
‘耶和华是王！’
32 愿海洋和其中的万物都欢呼，
愿田野和其中的一切都欢腾！
33 那时，林中的树木都要在耶和华面前欢唱，
因为祂要来审判天下。
34 要称谢耶和华，

分派事奉的人员
37 大卫派亚萨及其亲族天天在约柜前事奉耶和华，尽当尽的职分； 38 又派俄别·以东及其六十八位亲族、何萨和耶杜顿的儿子俄别·以东守门； 39 并派祭司撒督及其他祭司在基遍高地的耶和华的圣幕前供职， 40 按照耶和华在律法书上对以色列人的吩咐，每日早晚在祭坛上献燔祭给耶和华。 41 与他们一同供职的有希幔、耶杜顿和其他人，他们被特别选出来称谢上帝，因为祂有永恒的慈爱。 42 希幔和耶杜顿负责用号、钹及其他乐器伴奏歌颂上帝。耶杜顿的子孙负责守门。 43 于是，众民各自回家，大卫也回去为家人祝福。

Le transport du coffre de l’alliance selon la Loi
15 David se fit construire des maisons dans la Cité de David. Il prépara un emplacement pour le coffre de Dieu et dressa une tente pour l’abriter. 2 C’est ainsi qu’il décréta : Seuls les lévites auront le droit de porter le coffre de Dieu, car ce sont eux que l’Eternel a choisis pour cela et pour accomplir son service à jamais[a].
3 David rassembla tout Israël à Jérusalem pour faire venir le coffre de l’Eternel à l’emplacement qu’il lui avait préparé. 4 Il réunit aussi les descendants d’Aaron et les lévites. 5 Des Qehatites, il y avait le chef Ouriel avec 120 membres de cette famille ; 6 des Merarites, le chef Asaya avec 220 membres de cette famille ; 7 des Guershonites, le chef Joël avec 130 membres de cette famille ; 8 des descendants d’Elitsaphân, le chef Shemaya avec 200 membres de cette famille ; 9 des descendants d’Hébron, le chef Eliel avec 80 membres de cette famille, 10 et des descendants d’Ouzziel, le chef Amminadab avec 112 membres de cette famille.
11 David appela les prêtres Tsadoq et Abiatar et les lévites Ouriel, Asaya, Joël, Shemaya, Eliel et Amminadab. 12 Il leur dit : Vous êtes les chefs des groupes familiaux des lévites, purifiez-vous, vous et tous les membres de vos familles, pour être en mesure de transporter le coffre de l’Eternel, le Dieu d’Israël, à l’emplacement que je lui ai préparé. 13 En effet, c’est parce que vous n’étiez pas présents la première fois, que l’Eternel notre Dieu a fait une brèche parmi nous : nous ne nous sommes pas occupés selon la Loi de ce qui le concerne.
14 Les prêtres et les lévites se purifièrent donc pour le transport du coffre de l’Eternel, le Dieu d’Israël. 15 Les lévites portèrent le coffre de Dieu avec des barres[b] sur leurs épaules, conformément aux ordres que Moïse avait donnés d’après la parole de l’Eternel[c].
Les musiciens et les gardiens
16 David demanda aussi aux chefs des lévites de disposer les membres de leurs familles qui étaient chargés du chant avec leurs instruments de musique, c’est-à-dire leurs luths, leurs lyres et leurs cymbales, pour accompagner les réjouissances d’une musique éclatante. 17 Les lévites firent donc mettre en place Hémân, fils de Joël, Asaph, fils de Bérékia, membre de sa famille et, dans la famille de Merari, Etân, fils de Qoushaya.
18 Et pour les seconder, on prit d’autres lévites : les portiers Zacharie, Ben[d], Yaaziel, Shemiramoth, Yehiel, Ounni, Eliab, Benaya, Maaséya, Mattitia, Eliphéléhou, Miqnéya, Obed-Edom et Yeïel, 19 les musiciens Hémân, Asaph et Etân jouaient des cymbales de bronze. 20 Zacharie, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Yehiel, Ounni, Eliab, Maaséya et Benaya jouaient du luth pour les voix de soprano[e] ; 21 et Mattitia, Eliphéléhou, Miqnéya, Obed-Edom, Yeïel et Azazia des lyres à huit cordes[f] pour diriger le chant. 22 Kenania, le chef des lévites, était chargé de la direction du chant, car il était expert en la matière. 23 Bérékia et Elqana étaient les gardiens du coffre.
24 Shebania, Josaphat, Netanéel, Amasaï, Zacharie, Benaya et Eliézer, les prêtres, sonnaient des trompettes devant le coffre de Dieu. Obed-Edom et Yehiya étaient les gardiens du coffre.
Le coffre sacré arrive à Jérusalem(A)
25 Alors David, les responsables d’Israël et les chefs militaires allèrent faire transporter le coffre de l’alliance de l’Eternel depuis la maison d’Obed-Edom, au milieu de grandes réjouissances. 26 C’est avec l’aide de Dieu que les lévites portaient le coffre de l’alliance et l’on offrit à l’Eternel en sacrifice sept taureaux et sept béliers. 27 David avait endossé un manteau de fin lin blanc, comme tous les lévites qui portaient le coffre sacré, ainsi que les musiciens et Kenania, le chef responsable des musiciens. De plus, il avait endossé un vêtement de lin semblable à celui des prêtres. 28 Ainsi tout Israël transporta le coffre de l’alliance de l’Eternel en poussant des cris de joie, en faisant résonner les cors, les trompettes et les cymbales et retentir les luths et les lyres. 29 Lorsque le coffre de l’alliance de l’Eternel arriva dans la Cité de David, Mikal, la fille de Saül, regardait par la fenêtre. Elle vit le roi David qui sautait et dansait de joie. Alors elle conçut du mépris pour lui dans son cœur.
Joie et louanges
16 On amena le coffre de Dieu et on le déposa au milieu de la tente que David avait fait dresser pour lui, et l’on offrit devant Dieu des holocaustes et des sacrifices de communion. 2 Quand David eut achevé d’offrir ces sacrifices, il bénit le peuple au nom de l’Eternel. 3 Puis il fit distribuer à tous les Israélites, hommes et femmes, une miche de pain, une portion de viande rôtie et une masse de raisins secs[g].
4 Il institua dans leur service devant le coffre de l’Eternel un certain nombre de lévites ayant pour fonction d’invoquer l’Eternel, le Dieu d’Israël, de le célébrer et de le louer. 5 C’étaient Asaph, leur chef, Zacharie, son second, puis Yeïel, Shemiramoth, Yehiel, Mattitia, Eliab, Benaya, Obed-Edom et Yeïel. Ils jouaient des instruments de musique, des luths et des lyres, et Asaph faisait retentir les cymbales.
6 Les prêtres Benaya et Yahaziel sonnaient continuellement de la trompette devant le coffre de l’alliance de Dieu. 7 Ce fut à cette époque que David chargea pour la première fois Asaph et les membres de sa famille de célébrer l’Eternel.
8 Louez l’Eternel[h], ╵et faites appel à lui !
Publiez parmi les peuples ╵ses hauts faits !
9 Chantez à sa gloire, ╵et célébrez-le ╵en musique !
Racontez sans cesse ╵toutes ses merveilles !
10 Soyez fiers de lui, ╵car il est très saint !
Que le cœur de ceux ╵qui sont attachés à l’Eternel ╵soit rempli de joie !
11 Tournez-vous vers l’Eternel ! ╵Faites appel à sa force !
Aspirez à vivre ╵constamment en sa présence !
12 Souvenez-vous des merveilles ╵qu’il a accomplies !
Rappelez-vous ses prodiges ╵et les jugements ╵qu’il a prononcés,
13 vous, les descendants ╵d’Israël, son serviteur,
vous, descendants de Jacob, ╵vous, qu’il a choisis !
14 Notre Dieu, c’est l’Eternel,
sur toute la terre ╵s’exercent ses jugements.
15 Souvenez-vous pour toujours ╵de son alliance,
de ce qu’il a donné sa parole ╵pour mille générations :
16 il a conclu un traité ╵avec Abraham,
et l’a confirmé ╵par serment à Isaac[i].
17 Il l’a confirmé ╵à Jacob ╵en en faisant une loi
et, pour Israël, ╵une alliance pour toujours.
18 Il a déclaré : ╵« Je te donnerai ╵le pays de Canaan,
ce sera la part ╵que vous allez posséder. »
19 Vous n’étiez alors ╵qu’un très petit nombre,
une poignée d’immigrés,
20 allant çà et là, ╵d’une peuplade à une autre,
d’un royaume vers un autre peuple.
21 Mais Dieu ne laissa personne ╵les persécuter ;
il réprimanda des rois à leur sujet[j] :
22 « Ne maltraitez pas ╵ceux qui me sont consacrés,
et ne faites pas de mal ╵à ceux qui sont mes prophètes ! »
23 Chantez à l’Eternel[k], ╵vous, gens du monde entier !
Annoncez chaque jour ╵la bonne nouvelle de son salut !
24 Oui, publiez sa gloire ╵au milieu des nations !
Racontez ses prodiges ╵chez tous les peuples !
25 Car l’Eternel est grand ╵et digne de louanges,
et il est redoutable ╵bien plus que tous les dieux.
26 Car tous les dieux des peuples ╵ne sont que des faux dieux,
alors que l’Eternel ╵a fait le ciel.
27 Splendeur et majesté ╵rayonnent de son être,
et puissance et beauté ╵ornent son sanctuaire[l].
28 Célébrez l’Eternel, ╵vous, gens de tous les peuples,
célébrez l’Eternel, ╵en proclamant ╵sa gloire et sa puissance !
29 Célébrez l’Eternel ╵et son nom glorieux !
Apportez vos offrandes ╵et entrez devant lui
et prosternez-vous devant l’Eternel ╵dont la sainteté brille avec éclat[m] !
30 Vous, gens du monde entier, ╵tremblez devant sa face !
Le monde est ferme, ╵il n’est pas ébranlé.
31 Que le ciel soit en joie ! ╵Et que la terre exulte d’allégresse !
Qu’à tout peuple on proclame ╵que l’Eternel est roi !
32 Que la mer retentisse ╵et tout ce qui l’habite !
Que toute la campagne ╵et tout ce qui s’y trouve ╵se réjouissent !
33 Que, dans les bois, les arbres ╵poussent des cris de joie
devant l’Eternel, car il vient ╵pour gouverner[n] la terre.
34 Célébrez l’Eternel[o] ╵car il est bon,
car son amour ╵dure à toujours[p].
35 Et dites : ╵« Délivre-nous, ô Dieu ╵notre Sauveur !
Rassemble-nous, ╵délivre-nous ╵des autres peuples !
Nous te célébrerons, ╵toi qui es saint,
et mettrons notre gloire ╵à te louer. »
36 Béni soit l’Eternel, ╵Dieu d’Israël,
d’éternité ╵jusqu’en éternité !
Tout le peuple répondit « Amen ! » et loua l’Eternel.
L’organisation du culte
37 David chargea alors Asaph et les membres de sa famille de se tenir devant le coffre de l’alliance de l’Eternel, pour assurer leur service de manière permanente, suivant les rites prévus pour chaque jour.
38 Il désigna, comme portiers, Obed-Edom, fils de Yedoutoun, ainsi que soixante-huit hommes de sa parenté, et Hosa. 39 Il chargea aussi le prêtre Tsadoq et les autres prêtres de sa parenté d’officier devant le tabernacle[q] de l’Eternel qui se trouvait sur le haut lieu de Gabaon[r], 40 en offrant tous les jours, matin et soir, des holocaustes à l’Eternel sur l’autel des holocaustes, selon tout ce qui est écrit dans la Loi que l’Eternel a donnée à Israël. 41 Ils avaient avec eux Hémân, Yedoutoun et les autres hommes qui avaient été choisis et désignés nominativement pour louer l’Eternel en ces termes : « Car son amour dure à toujours. » 42 Hémân et Yedoutoun étaient chargés de faire retentir les trompettes et les cymbales, ainsi que les autres instruments de musique destinés à accompagner le chant pour Dieu. Les fils de Yedoutoun étaient affectés aux fonctions de gardiens.
43 Puis tout le peuple s’en alla, chacun chez soi, et David rentra aussi chez lui pour bénir sa famille.

The Ark Brought to Jerusalem(A)
15 After David had constructed buildings for himself in the City of David, he prepared(B) a place for the ark of God and pitched(C) a tent for it. 2 Then David said, “No one but the Levites(D) may carry(E) the ark of God, because the Lord chose them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister(F) before him forever.”
3 David assembled all Israel(G) in Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the Lord to the place he had prepared for it. 4 He called together the descendants of Aaron and the Levites:(H)
5 From the descendants of Kohath,
Uriel(I) the leader and 120 relatives;
6 from the descendants of Merari,
Asaiah the leader and 220 relatives;
7 from the descendants of Gershon,[a]
Joel the leader and 130 relatives;
8 from the descendants of Elizaphan,(J)
Shemaiah the leader and 200 relatives;
9 from the descendants of Hebron,(K)
Eliel the leader and 80 relatives;
10 from the descendants of Uzziel,
Amminadab the leader and 112 relatives.
11 Then David summoned Zadok(L) and Abiathar(M) the priests, and Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel and Amminadab the Levites. 12 He said to them, “You are the heads of the Levitical families; you and your fellow Levites are to consecrate(N) yourselves and bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, to the place I have prepared for it. 13 It was because you, the Levites,(O) did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us.(P) We did not inquire of him about how to do it in the prescribed way.(Q)” 14 So the priests and Levites consecrated themselves in order to bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel. 15 And the Levites carried the ark of God with the poles on their shoulders, as Moses had commanded(R) in accordance with the word of the Lord.(S)
16 David(T) told the leaders of the Levites(U) to appoint their fellow Levites as musicians(V) to make a joyful sound with musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals.(W)
17 So the Levites appointed Heman(X) son of Joel; from his relatives, Asaph(Y) son of Berekiah; and from their relatives the Merarites,(Z) Ethan son of Kushaiah; 18 and with them their relatives next in rank: Zechariah,[b] Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom(AA) and Jeiel,[c] the gatekeepers.
19 The musicians Heman,(AB) Asaph and Ethan were to sound the bronze cymbals; 20 Zechariah, Jaaziel,[d] Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah and Benaiah were to play the lyres according to alamoth,[e] 21 and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel and Azaziah were to play the harps, directing according to sheminith.[f] 22 Kenaniah the head Levite was in charge of the singing; that was his responsibility because he was skillful at it.
23 Berekiah and Elkanah were to be doorkeepers for the ark. 24 Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah and Eliezer the priests were to blow trumpets(AC) before the ark of God. Obed-Edom and Jehiah were also to be doorkeepers for the ark.
25 So David and the elders of Israel and the commanders of units of a thousand went to bring up the ark(AD) of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-Edom, with rejoicing. 26 Because God had helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, seven bulls and seven rams(AE) were sacrificed. 27 Now David was clothed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and as were the musicians, and Kenaniah, who was in charge of the singing of the choirs. David also wore a linen ephod.(AF) 28 So all Israel(AG) brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouts,(AH) with the sounding of rams’ horns(AI) and trumpets, and of cymbals, and the playing of lyres and harps.
29 As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.
Ministering Before the Ark(AJ)(AK)(AL)
16 They brought the ark of God and set it inside the tent that David had pitched(AM) for it, and they presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before God. 2 After David had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed(AN) the people in the name of the Lord. 3 Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins(AO) to each Israelite man and woman.
4 He appointed some of the Levites to minister(AP) before the ark of the Lord, to extol,[g] thank, and praise the Lord, the God of Israel: 5 Asaph was the chief, and next to him in rank were Zechariah, then Jaaziel,[h] Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom and Jeiel. They were to play the lyres and harps, Asaph was to sound the cymbals, 6 and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests were to blow the trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God.
7 That day David first appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise(AQ) to the Lord in this manner:
8 Give praise(AR) to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations(AS) what he has done.
9 Sing to him, sing praise(AT) to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
10 Glory in his holy name;(AU)
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
11 Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek(AV) his face always.
12 Remember(AW) the wonders(AX) he has done,
his miracles,(AY) and the judgments he pronounced,
13 you his servants, the descendants of Israel,
his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
14 He is the Lord our God;
his judgments(AZ) are in all the earth.
15 He remembers[i](BA) his covenant forever,
the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
16 the covenant(BB) he made with Abraham,
the oath he swore to Isaac.
17 He confirmed it to Jacob(BC) as a decree,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
18 “To you I will give the land of Canaan(BD)
as the portion you will inherit.”
19 When they were but few in number,(BE)
few indeed, and strangers in it,
20 they[j] wandered(BF) from nation to nation,
from one kingdom to another.
21 He allowed no one to oppress them;
for their sake he rebuked kings:(BG)
22 “Do not touch my anointed ones;
do my prophets(BH) no harm.”
23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
24 Declare his glory(BI) among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
25 For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;(BJ)
he is to be feared(BK) above all gods.(BL)
26 For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.(BM)
27 Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and joy are in his dwelling place.
28 Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.(BN)
29 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;(BO)
bring an offering and come before him.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his[k] holiness.(BP)
30 Tremble(BQ) before him, all the earth!
The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.(BR)
31 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;(BS)
let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!(BT)”
32 Let the sea resound, and all that is in it;(BU)
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them!
33 Let the trees(BV) of the forest sing,
let them sing for joy before the Lord,
for he comes to judge(BW) the earth.
34 Give thanks(BX) to the Lord, for he is good;(BY)
his love endures forever.(BZ)
35 Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior;(CA)
gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name,
and glory in your praise.”
36 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,(CB)
from everlasting to everlasting.
Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the Lord.”
37 David left Asaph and his associates before the ark of the covenant of the Lord to minister there regularly, according to each day’s requirements.(CC) 38 He also left Obed-Edom(CD) and his sixty-eight associates to minister with them. Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and also Hosah,(CE) were gatekeepers.
39 David left Zadok(CF) the priest and his fellow priests before the tabernacle of the Lord at the high place in Gibeon(CG) 40 to present burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly, morning and evening, in accordance with everything written in the Law(CH) of the Lord, which he had given Israel. 41 With them were Heman(CI) and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the Lord, “for his love endures forever.” 42 Heman and Jeduthun were responsible for the sounding of the trumpets and cymbals and for the playing of the other instruments for sacred song.(CJ) The sons of Jeduthun(CK) were stationed at the gate.
43 Then all the people left, each for their own home, and David returned home to bless his family.
