要有受苦的心志
4 基督既然在肉身受过苦，你们也应当以同样的心志装备自己（因为在肉身受过苦的，就已经与罪断绝了）， 2 好叫你们不再随从人的私欲，只顺从 神的旨意，在世上度余下的光阴。 3 因为你们过去随从教外人的心意，行邪淫、私欲、醉酒、荒宴、狂饮和可憎拜偶像的事，时候已经够了。 4 他们见你们不再与他们同奔那纵情放荡的路，就觉得奇怪，毁谤你们。 5 他们必要向那位预备要审判活人死人的主交帐。 6 因此，那些死人也曾有福音传给他们，好使他们的肉体受了人要受的审判，他们的灵却靠 神活着。
按照恩赐彼此服事
7 万物的结局近了，所以你们要谨慎警醒地祷告。 8 最重要的是要彼此切实相爱，因为爱能遮盖许多的罪。 9 你们要互相接待，不发怨言。 10 你们要作 神各样恩赐的好管家，各人照着所领受的恩赐彼此服事。 11 讲道的，应当按着 神的圣言讲；服事的，应当按着 神所赐的力量服事，为要在一切事上，使 神藉耶稣基督得荣耀。荣耀、权能都是他的，直到永永远远。阿们。
为基督受苦的有福了
12 亲爱的，有火炼的试验临到你们，不要以为奇怪，好象是遭遇非常的事， 13 倒要欢喜，因为你们既然在基督的受苦上有分，就在他荣耀显现的时候，可以欢喜快乐。 14 你们要是为基督的名受辱骂，就有福了！因为 神荣耀的灵，住在你们身上。 15 你们中间不可有人因为杀人、或偷窃、或行恶、或好管闲事而受苦。 16 如果因为作基督徒而受苦，不要以为羞耻，倒要借着这名字荣耀 神。 17 因为审判从 神的家开始，就在这时候了。如果先从我们起头，那不信从 神福音的人，结局将要怎样呢？
18 “如果义人仅仅得救，
不敬虔和犯罪的人，又会变成怎样呢（“不敬虔和犯罪的人，又会变成怎样呢？”直译作“不敬虔的人和犯罪的人将出现在何处呢？”）？”
19 所以那顺着 神的旨意而受苦的人，要继续地行善，把自己的生命交托那信实的创造者。

生活的改變
4 既然基督曾在肉身上為你們受苦，你們也要懷著同樣的心志，因為肉體受過苦的人已經與罪斷絕了關係， 2 可以在今後的生活中不再隨從人的私慾，只服從上帝的旨意。 3 你們從前長期沉溺於異教徒的嗜好——淫亂、縱慾、醉酒、狂歡、宴樂和可憎的偶像崇拜。 4 如今你們不再和他們同流合污，他們覺得奇怪，就用惡言毀謗你們。 5 但他們將來必須向審判活人和死人的主交帳。 6 正因如此，福音也曾傳給已死的人。這樣，他們的肉體雖然像世人一樣受了審判，他們的靈魂卻可以靠上帝活著。
恩典的好管家
7 萬物的盡頭快到了。因此，你們要謹慎自律，警醒禱告。 8 最重要的是要彼此真誠相愛，因為愛可以遮蓋許多罪。 9 要互相接待，不發怨言， 10 按著自己所得的恩賜彼此服侍，作上帝各樣恩典的好管家。 11 能講道的，要按著上帝的話去講；能服侍人的，要本著上帝所賜的力量去服侍。這樣，上帝會藉著耶穌基督在一切的事上得到榮耀。
願榮耀和權能都歸於祂，直到永永遠遠。阿們！
以受苦為榮
12 親愛的弟兄姊妹，若有火一般的試煉臨到你們，不要覺得奇怪，以為發生了什麼不尋常的事， 13 反倒要歡喜，因為你們是與基督一起受苦。這樣，你們在祂的榮耀顯現時可以和祂一同歡喜快樂。 14 如果你們為基督的緣故受辱駡，就有福了！因為上帝榮耀的靈常住在你們身上。 15 你們誰也不可因殺人、偷盜、作惡或管閒事而受苦。 16 若是為了作基督徒而受苦，不要覺得羞恥，要因這身分歸榮耀給上帝。 17 因為時候到了，審判要先從上帝的家開始。如果審判要從我們開始，那些不信從上帝福音的人會有怎樣的結局呢？ 18 如果義人得救尚且不易，不敬虔的人和罪人會有什麼下場呢？ 19 所以，照上帝旨意受苦的人要繼續專心行善，將自己的靈魂交託給那位信實的造物主。

Stewards of God's Grace
4 Since therefore (A)Christ suffered in the flesh,[a] (B)arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for (C)whoever has suffered in the flesh (D)has ceased from sin, 2 (E)so as to live for (F)the rest of the time in the flesh (G)no longer for human passions but (H)for the will of God. 3 For the time that is past (I)suffices (J)for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. 4 With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of (K)debauchery, and (L)they malign you; 5 but they will give account to him who is ready (M)to judge the living and the dead. 6 For this is why (N)the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.
7 (O)The end of all things is at hand; therefore (P)be self-controlled and sober-minded (Q)for the sake of your prayers. 8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since (R)love covers a multitude of sins. 9 (S)Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 (T)As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, (U)as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks (V)oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves (W)by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything (X)God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. Suffering as a Christian
12 Beloved, do not be surprised at (AA)the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice (AB)insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad (AC)when his glory is revealed. 14 (AD)If you are insulted (AE)for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory[b] and of God rests upon you. 15 But (AF)let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or (AG)as a meddler. 16 Yet (AH)if anyone suffers as a (AI)Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God (AJ)in that name. 17 For it is time for judgment (AK)to begin at the household of God; and (AL)if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who (AM)do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And
19 Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will (AO)entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.
