信的人可以进入安息
4 所以，那进入安息的应许，既然还给我们留着，我们就应该战战兢兢，恐怕我们中间有人像是被淘汰了。 2 因为有福音传给我们，像传给他们一样，只是他们所听见的道，对他们没有益处，因为他们没有用信心与所听见的打成一片（“没有用信心与所听见的打成一片”，有古卷作“没有用信心与听从这道的人打成一片”）。 3 然而我们信了的人，就可以进入那安息。正如 神所说：
“我在烈怒中起誓说，
他们绝不可进入我的安息！”
其实 神的工作，从创立世界以来已经完成了。 4 因为论到第七日，他在圣经某一处说：“在第七日 神歇了他的一切工作。” 5 但在这里又说：“他们绝不可进入我的安息。” 6 既然这安息还留着要让一些人进去，但那些以前听过福音的人，因为不顺从不得进去； 7 所以 神就再定一个日子，就是过了很久以后，借着大卫所说的“今天”，就像前面引用过的：
“如果你们今天听从他的声音，
就不要硬着心。”
8 如果约书亚已经使他们享受了安息， 神后来就不会再提到别的日子了。 9 这样看来，为了 神的子民，必定另外有一个“安息日”的安息保留下来。 10 因为那进入 神安息的人，就歇了自己的工作，好象 神歇了自己的工作一样。 11 所以，我们要竭力进入那安息，免得有人随着那不顺从的样子就跌倒了。 12 因为 神的道是活的，是有效的，比一切两刃的剑更锋利，甚至可以刺入剖开魂与灵，关节与骨髓，并且能够辨明心中的思想和意念。 13 被造的在 神面前没有一样不是显明的，万有在他的眼前都是赤露敞开的；我们必须向他交帐。

14 我们既然有一位伟大的、经过了众天的大祭司，就是 神的儿子耶稣，就应该坚持所宣认的信仰。 15 因为我们的大祭司并不是不能同情我们的软弱，他像我们一样，也曾在各方面受过试探，只是他没有犯罪。 16 所以，我们只管坦然无惧地来到施恩的宝座前，为的是要领受怜悯，得到恩惠，作为及时的帮助。

4 Por eso, temamos a Dios mientras tengamos todavía la promesa de entrar en su reposo, no sea que alguno de ustedes parezca haberse quedado atrás. 2 Porque la buena nueva se nos ha anunciado a nosotros lo mismo que a ellos; pero de nada les sirvió a ellos el oír esta palabra porque, cuando la oyeron, no la acompañaron con fe. 3 Pero los que creímos hemos entrado en el reposo, conforme a lo que él dijo:
«Por eso, en mi furor juré:
“No entrarán en mi reposo”»,(A)
aun cuando sus obras estaban acabadas desde la creación del mundo. 4 En cierto lugar se dice así del séptimo día: «Dios reposó de todas sus obras en el séptimo día.»(B) 5 Y una vez más dice: «No entrarán en mi reposo».(C) 6 Por lo tanto, y puesto que aún falta que algunos entren en el reposo, y como aquellos a quienes primero se les anunció la buena nueva no entraron por causa de su desobediencia, 7 vuelve a determinarse un día, «Hoy», al decir después de tanto tiempo, por medio de David:
«Si ustedes oyen hoy su voz,
no endurezcan su corazón».(D)
8 Si Josué les hubiera dado el reposo,(E) no habría hablado después de otro día. 9 De modo que aún queda un reposo para el pueblo de Dios. 10 Porque el que entra en su reposo, reposa también de sus obras, como Dios reposó de las suyas.(F)
11 Procuremos, pues, entrar en ese reposo, para que nadie siga el ejemplo de los que desobedecieron. 12 La palabra de Dios es viva y eficaz, y más cortante que las espadas de dos filos, pues penetra hasta partir el alma y el espíritu, las coyunturas y los tuétanos, y discierne los pensamientos y las intenciones del corazón. 13 Nada de lo que Dios creó puede esconderse de él, sino que todas las cosas quedan al desnudo y descubiertas a los ojos de aquel a quien tenemos que rendir cuentas.

14 Por lo tanto, y ya que en Jesús, el Hijo de Dios, tenemos un gran sumo sacerdote que traspasó los cielos, retengamos nuestra profesión de fe. 15 Porque no tenemos un sumo sacerdote que no pueda compadecerse de nuestras debilidades, sino uno que fue tentado en todo de la misma manera que nosotros, aunque sin pecado. 16 Por tanto, acerquémonos confiadamente al trono de la gracia, para alcanzar misericordia y hallar gracia para cuando necesitemos ayuda.

A Sabbath-Rest for the People of God
4 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.(A) 2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.[a](B) 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,
And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world. 4 For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.”[c](D) 5 And again in the passage above he says, “They shall never enter my rest.”(E)
6 Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience,(F) 7 God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:
8 For if Joshua had given them rest,(H) God would not have spoken(I) later about another day. 9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works,[e](J) just as God did from his.(K) 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.(L)
12 For the word of God(M) is alive(N) and active.(O) Sharper than any double-edged sword,(P) it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.(Q) 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.(R) Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Jesus the Great High Priest
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest(S) who has ascended into heaven,[f](T) Jesus the Son of God,(U) let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.(V) 15 For we do not have a high priest(W) who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are(X)—yet he did not sin.(Y) 16 Let us then approach(Z) God’s throne of grace with confidence,(AA) so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
